Bad Points: Dropped Calls, Pricing, Billing for un-used text messages.

General comments: We changed from Verizon to Cingular in Feb 06. Everything has been alright besides all the dropped calls. The past 2 bills we have been charged for 750; 520 text messages. There is no possible way we could have used that many between the two of us. When we called, they try to talk you into paying them MORE money for unlimited when we already pay them $120 a month. Its not that we need unlimited because we don,t use the 400 we have between the two of us. We had this problem when we had them before Verizon but w/minutes also, I don,t know why we ever went back. They drop your call when your needing to use your phone the most, like when my mother-in-law had a wreck and could not even get 911 to go through.

They'll charge you with Roaming, Internet Storage, Night and Weekend minutes. I have T-Mobile right now and love their services, free Roaming, night and weekend minutes.

    I have had cingular/ at &; for 3 years.
They were OK at first, but, when I renewed my contract, I received overpriced very junk phones 6126 Nokia. The surface pealed, and one of the phones quit working. The second phone has very bad.

I returned the one within the first week, they replaced it, but, the replacement phone didn't last long. when I sent that one back. they sent another one. then about 2-4 weeks later, they charged my account $127.00 and claimed the phone was neglected.

I was charged for the 4 months by Cingular even though I cancelled my subscription. No option for you to cancel your auto payment options. No options in Website, No options for the retailers...all the above even over phone also...
I called and cancelled my auto-recharge. Just to verify I called again, got to a different Rep. he said still its enabled.

My phone broke, so I went to the Cingular store in Villa La Jolla Drive. My original plan was to get a new phone that is not too expensive. I was told that since I have a year contract I have warranty and I am eligible for getting my phone replaced at no cost. On my next bill I was charged $115 for getting a new phone because after their investigation they claimed the damage was not covered in the warranty. When I complained, I was told that I had to read the contract more carefully regardless o ...

I had Cingular for nearly 6 years before the AT&T takeover. Before Cingular, I had Verizon. Honestly, I never experienced a problem with Cingular. No dropped calls, network always available, great customer service, etc. The AT&T takeover has changed all of that. If you were a previous Cingular customer and are coming back because of the AT&T takeover and their enticements to come back, I advise you to look at other providers first for comparison and make your best judgement. I do not believe I w ...

Need to really re-think their plans. The phones do not hold up and they are unwilling to help you if your phone breaks through no fault of your own. Terrible. Prices are WAY too high as well. There is no really basic plan. (coverage area is good)

This Mobile Phone Networks sucks!!!Stay away as far as you can go from Cingular. My husband and I were looking for the cheapest/value for money family plan out there...because believe me family plans tend to be pretty expensive..and we couldn't go through T mobile, because he already had a contract with them and that would be breaking his contract...anyway, so we decided to go with Cingular....bad choice. I am still regretting it. I try to call my husband...the call drops allllllll the time! ...

I just switched from Cingular to Verizon. We did so after:
    1. Way too many dropped calls. Once we were at a Dolphins game and there was no network coverage. This cost us about 5 hours of trying to find each other. When there is coverage the reception is terrible.
    2. We had problems with one of our phones always forwarding to another phone on our family account. I spent about 6 hours on the phone trying to fix this and it never was fixed.
    3. The customer care people were extremely ru ...

Cingular is enormously overpriced. I work from 9 to 7 and I barely have any time to talk on my cell phone. My bill, however, has come out to about $300/month for the past few months. Every time I call to complain, they say "Why didn't you check your minute usage?" The funny thing is, Cingular refers to the "minute checking service" as a "general guideline." I recently found out that their "minutes service" lags up to a FEW DAYS. Not a few hours, a FEW DAYS. The customer service rep told me they ...

The Cingular mobile phone network drops way too many calls. Billing is always correct, but it drops more than 3 calls per day. Their customer support is also bad.

If you want to pay 200.00 for a mobile phone that won't last 3 months, get charged for their gross receipts fees so they don't have to pay them, drop the majority of your calls then Cingular is the place for you!!!

Om over 90% (no exaggeration) of my calls I fail to get connected, the call is dropped and/or the reception is very poor.

Customer service is the absolute worst. They find my predicament funny. Funny!!

    Good bye Cingular.

Got a pay as you go phone from Cingular for my elderly father in Arizona, after being assured that there was coverage. My father told me after several weeks that he could not make calls or receive them and was told by the clerk at the local mall there, that there was no coverage in his area. When I called Cingular I was told that pay as you go phones don't have the same coverage and it was suggested that I switch to a prepaid account where I get charged monthly. The worst customer service!! ...

Compared to what's out there, it's fine. The coverage is good, but be sure when you sign up with Cingular, or upgrade your service, to ask all the questions. I agreed to upgrade my service, which included a new "free" phone, but they did not tell me that I would pay for the $9 shipping or that the bonus minutes were only for a promotional period. Also, text messaging and Internet connection are extra costs. Just keep asking them, are there any other charges? Get the person's name etc. Watch ...

I like Cingular a lot. GSM offers the most flexibility, especially when I travel. I also like their phone selection. The service is reliable, and I barely ever experience any dropped calls.

It is kind of expensive, but prices are comparable to other carriers.

Overall, it is a good service and reliable. I would recommend Cingular.

I have had a terrible time with Cingular. My family has been with them for 10 years and they are now cancelling me and my sister's phones because we have been using towers other than Cingular's. Back in December we got a letter that said that the tower that me and my sister were using at college was not Cingular's, but someone they worked with and I needed to start making less calls. We called Cingular and they "seemed" to work with us. They said they would change my phone so it would say "off n ...
