Good Points: Location of apartments was perfect, literally just around the corner from Malia mile and about 3 minute walk to the beach.

Apartments were clean, modern and spacious with very friendly bar/pool staff.

Pool was a god size and the music played around gave it a good atmosphere but could get a bit repetitive but was still good.

Bad Points: Have to pay a 50 euro deposit EACH on arrival when we were told it was per room.

Hotel receptionists could appear a bit offish sometimes.

General comments: Some of the best bars and clubs to go to are: A.W.O.L, cloud 9, zigzag, appollo, malibu, bannana and coyotes (get loads of free drinks in each one)

Restaurants to go to are Red Lion and Sticky Fingers, all you can eat Chinese isn't too good.

The shipwrecked booze cruise is a must, its 50 euro but well worth it.

Be careful with the people selling roses and glowsticks because they have been known to pick pocket!

Malia is the best place to go if you wanna have a good time, relax in the day, drink lots and have an amazing time!!

I loved this holiday at Filoxenia, very much for young people, which was very good for making friends and enjoying Malia.

Reception at the Filoxenia 1 Apartments in Malia were never open at stated times, food available when bar opened, but times varied! Over-abundance of flies trying to get your food!
Apartments were dirty - only got linen and towels changed once a week! Floor rarely swept or washed - all the sweepings left in a pile on the balcony! Apartments were smelly - don't even get me started on the toilet, toilet paper not supplied either. No kids pool, no mini golf, and what jacuzzi?? Got a mouthful o ...

The Filoxenia 1 Apartments in Malia are on the doorstep to everything. We went in June 2005, and have booked again for June 2006. Can't wait! We all got quad bikes out to drive to and from the beach. Love it!! I hope it's better than last year!!

I stayed in the Filoxenia apartments in Malia in July 2005. It was the best holiday I have ever been on! The hotel was right near the bars and clubs, and also near the 24 hour bar Petrinos, where you can party until 12.00 the next afternoon! Some of the best clubs are Factory, ZigZag, Club 69, Cheeky 1/2 and the Yasso bar. This is the best holiday to go on if you want to party and get out of your face every night, and then sunbathe in the day. I would recommend the Filoxenia apartments as they a ...

We spent at the Filoxenia 1 Apartments in Crete commencing on the 16th of September 2005. We were glad to get home!
On arrival the reception was closed and our key was waiting on the inside of the door. The hotel was in the new part of the resort, and we were told it was adjacent to the old part of Malia. It caters for 17 - 21 year olds, so if you want a relaxing holiday forget it! Constant noise and disruption, etc. The pool was shabby, and the sunbeds were broken. There were no umbrellas, ...

we are going back to the Filoxenia apartments in Crete next year! It was the most amazing holiday, and you are near to everything here. The place to eat if you want typical pub grub, is the red lion. There are some beautiful Greek restaurants if you want to sample the local cuisine, but if you don't want to eat too much before you go out, just pop downstairs to the restaurant, and get a takeaway pizza, they were so tasty, and just a nice lite bite to share between 4 of you before you go out. ...
