Good Points: Compact and sleek look that still delivers an impressive sound. The ability to connect the hi-fi and control it on your personal computer. Fast recording and very good long play function for mini-disc.
Bad Points: The Software supplied is not the most efficient and intuitive example of a media program.
General comments: Just recently bought this Sony CMT-M333NT sound machine, going on what I wanted from a hi-fi and the reviews on here. This Micro System is very good! I think its looks might be not to everyone's tastes, however I quite like it because it is quite understated and adds to the overall smallness and unassuming style of the hi-fi. The dust covers on the speakers are bit naff and the speaker underneath looks very cool. However if you have little children who might come near the hi-fi then I'd keep them on as kids can't resist popping in the middle of the speaker, a fate in which my old hi-fi suffered and one that many a display hi-fi suffer in shops.
The sound is really impressive and can go quite loud and has good bass, something in which I was initially worried about because I was coming from a larger and more powerful hi-fi. Additionally my old hi-fi ticked me off when playing music not very loud, you could hear the fan in the amplifier which was a bit off putting. In this hi-fi there is a fan, however it only kicks in if the music is loud so that you don't hear any fan noise when playing the music low (a very clever trick from SONY).
The Web radio is impressive, which uses the supplied software M-Crew (the software used to control your hi-fi via the PC); you can pre-set web radio stations so that the hi-fi can then tune into them much like a tuner. My only gripe with the hi-fi is the supplied software for the PC, it hasn't been designed well at all. It is clumsy and grinds along in loading up and doing any simple task. Organising music on your hard drive and performing simple tasks is awkward and seems unintuitive. From doing simple tasks like crating a music library (uploading your mp3's onto the player) to naming tuner radio stations.
Overall this is a sweet little music machine. It has a great sound and a very smart look that is different from most hi-fi's on the market, wood veneer anyone? The price is also pretty well pitched for what the machine has to offer, which is well ahead anything else on the market at this price range. Plus it is SONY which is always a classy manufacturer to go for. I would have given it ten out of ten just for the hi-fi, however I bought it for its PC connection and the software supplied is a bit poor so I've docked it a point. However it is a great hi-fi which I've fallen in love with. I highly recommend anyone to buy this hi-fi, just you lot don't buy too many, as I don't want it getting common!
