Good Points: Location Value Cleanliness Resort
Bad Points: Aegean Air
General comments: We have been to Georgioupolis in Crete three times now and the Leonidas apartments were the best. The apartments are superbly located. They are close enough to the beach and two mini-markets. The main square is a couple of minutes walk away. They are in a quiet location so you do not get disturbed at night.
Our apartment slept four. There was a twin bedded room and a double bed in the main room. The only downside was that the kitchenette was very small with little worktop space to prepare food. This did not bother us too much as there were plenty of good tavernas nearby. The apartment was clean, maid service was good, and the owner was very friendly. The pool was of an adequate size with a separate children's pool, and it was shallow enough for toddlers.
Our children liked the children's park which was close by and opened every evening, and it was completely safe and enclosed. We could sit and have a meal and drink there whilst watching them play - perfect!
We thoroughly recommend Georgiopolis and the Leonidas apartments. We met several people who returned regularly to both.
Kosmar are cheap and the rep was good, but the flights let them down. The planes (Aegean) were old and tatty. There was no in-flight entertainment at all, and the food was rubbish.
The plane returned to Birmingham via Bristol where we had to get off and go through customs again, and when all you want to do is just get home, this is a drag!
Georgioupolis - 10/10
Leonidas 8/10
Kosmar 7/10
Aegean Airlines 1/10

I am a travel agent and have done Greece now for many years. This accommodation is the best I have ever stayed at in Greece, and probably is the best greek holiday I have ever had. Never before have I had a bath or power shower in greece, normally a cheap shower and a hole in the floor, but not at the leonidas. The apartments are immaculate and cleaned every day apart from Sunday. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner, and the maid kept the place spotless.
The apartments are minutes ...

Transfer to resort took approximately 1hr 10mins, dropping off in resort of Kalives first.
On arrival, were taken by Kosmar rep to our studio, which as requested was low level. (2adults and 1child aged 3yrs travelled). Studio was of a good size with twin beds, and sofa bed for already made up.
Towels were also provided, and the studio was cleaned daily and change of towels once during our week stay. However if you required anything, the maid and owner were always on hand to ask.
The pool ...

Leonidas Apartments: Rooms very spacious, clean and well maintained. Cleaned every day but Sunday. Air conditioned, hairdryer and all basics supplied. Pool is clean .5 mins to beach and 1 min to two well stocked supermarkets.
Georgiopolis is a small Greek village, locals are friendly and helpful. Best taverna we found was Valentinos. Every meal was delicious and big portions. Sun kiss beach bar also served good, cheap food at lunchtime and staff were friendly. If you want a good quiet holiday ...

Leonidas Apartments is probably the best accommodation I have had in several holidays to Greece; it is ideally located on the East side of the village and within easy walking distance of the beach, Taverna's and popular village square. The resort of Georgioupolis is small and tightly compact and no matter where you are an open field, space or hillside is within a short walking distance. The beaches are best described like this: Central, opposite the EDAM pool and restaurant, 2 beds and brolly ...
