Have just back from staying at this hotel and was even worse than i was expecting. Breakfast very poor, either cereal, toast or cheese and salami. If you want cooked breakfast you have to pay extra for it. Pool looks vey inviting, but no shallow end so not suitable for children. Rooms very basic, with towels only changed every 4days and bedlinen once a week.Very quiet hotel which didnt mind to much, but not much else to do around the location. Beaches very poor, with large stones to deal with as you go in the sea. Beaches much nicer at Malia, with great swimming and nice beach bar. Would not recommend hotel unless you are looking for a very quiet location.Lots of cats and flys about at hotel and rooms not even up to 2* standards. Weather was brilliant thou so not all bad comments to make!

The Anissaras, Aloi Hotel is typically greek and very laid back just what is needed when one has a very hectic lifestyle we loved it the staff bent over backwards and jumped through hoops to make our stay as pleasant as possible the main town is just a short taxi ride away but lovely beaches and bars are just a short walk from the hotel although everything you need is at the hotel lovely pool beautifull gardens and wonderfull greek dishes are offered every day as well as the english food that t ...

The best hotel my girlfriend and I have ever stayed. Aloi Hotel is situated in a small area called Anissaras which is quiet and excellent for families and couples and children. Pool was cleaned every day and the food at nights was perfect cooked by Gabi and her husband Martin who updates the website on a regular basis. Perfect. even cats were nice. Rooms were cleaned on a rota basis and the view of the beach was mouthwatering. We shall go back again and again and again.

We booked on the net with no pictures of the apartments, I know why now the whole place is a bit run down, time it had a re fit., the best bit was the weather and beach. The hotel is a mile a way from anything. Don't get me wrong, I am not royalty, but the money we pay now you expect that little bit more from your holiday. Wont be staying there for again, not in my life time.

I have just returned from a two week stay. The hotel is bliss, very quiet and peaceful. Even though we'd only booked on a B & B basis, we ended up eating in the hotel nearly everynight as the food and service were so good. The manageress, is very welcoming and runs an excellent establishment.

If you just want to sit back and relax by the pool it's the place to go, but if you want lots of action it's not. Around and about there is not a lot to do but the action is only a cab ride away.

Anissaras itself is very quiet. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the beach where the all inclusive hotels are situated. These do unfortunately have their own areas of the beach and sun loungers for guest use only. That said Captain's beach opposite Captain's Bar & Restaurant is a public beach. 2 loungers & an umbrella available for 6 Euros. Of the restaurants/tavernas we found, no one did a specific children's menu but they were more than willing to do smaller portions from the main ...

The staff & hotel are fantastic. We go twice a year which is not enough. There is so much to see and do and the staff are only too happy to advise you of the best places to visit i.e the villages in the hills - Old Hersonissos, Koutolofari, Piskopiano and if you want night life - Hersonissos - all within a 2 minute taxi drive - or you could walk along the beach to Anissaras - another lovely area, or Kouves - just a short walk from Anissaras!
And if you want to take a boat ride there are so many ...

From thw Aloi Hotel it is a pleasant short walk to beach. Very nice quiet resort. Perfect for families or couples. Staff helpful. Just the job if you want somewhere quiet to rest your head. Absolute peace and quiet. Every room has a balcony which is so nice to sit on and have a peaceful drink overlooking the pool at night. Ideal if you appreciate the real side of Crete. As I said the main strip is only a short walk and has plenty of bars and shops to choose from. Captain restuarant is a must. An ...

On our arrival the reception was shut and our keys left on the counter, we had to find our rooms ourselves and we were unable to open one of the doors with the key. We asked the bar for assistance, he was also unable to open the apartment door. We were then put another room which was dirty and dark with no bed linen or towels.
The following day when the reception opened the manager was again rude and offered our party of four one room instead of the two we had paid for as the door was broken, bu ...

Don't get me wrong, I loved Hersonissos, really lovely resort. In addition, the beach at Anissaras is beautiful. However, despite the price of Aloi Hotel, I believe that better value can be found if you stay elsewhere. To get into Hersonissos from this hotel, in a taxi it costs 8 euro. It is not within walking distance!

We stayed here at the start of the season May 08 and when we arrived it looked as though the place wasn't even open.... We were checked in and we went to the room which was overlooking the pool.. well I say pool but there was no water in it.
The room was on the dirty side and smelled musty, bathroom very basic with a shower curtain around the very small shower, we ended up having to go and buy air fresheners.
We decided to go out and investigate the area and by the beach which is when we found o ...

We stayed from the 19th to the 26th July 2005, and had a wonderful time.

The Hotel is just like the pictures on the web site http://www.hotelaloi.com. Very beautiful gardens, and very relaxing atmosphere! There is nothing ghastly just out of shot.

We hired a car, and went out a lot. We saw nothing that could compare to this Hotel. It is an oasis, when all around seemed pretty chaotic in comparison.

Mad times are available 3km down the road, but it was always good to return.

    All t ...

We stayed at the Aloi Hotel last july and loved it so much were going back this year, we made lots of new friends and had some fantastic nights out in nearby hersonisos,The hotel is clean and the rooms well kept ours had a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, the area around the pool has free sun beds and is a right sun trap, thankfully the bar is close. The hotel is sited just off the main road and it takes 10 mins to walk to the beach front where there are many good bars and resturants you ...

Aloi Hotel is a nice small hotel with traditional Greek cooking. All the staff were helpful especially the bar man-who spoke very good English. Our bedroom was very small but clean and adequate. We had a shower and shower curtain. Outside was a very small pool and free sun loungers. As we enjoy walking we walked to town via the beach several times but it was about three kms. For others less mobile it probably was rather isolated. The bus stop being half a mile away and the beach a good stroll.
