General comments: When we arrived at the hotel at 05:30 there was no room available. We had been traveling for around 13.5 hours. The reception/porter told us there would be no room available until 07:30, but there was a 24 hour cafe just down the road. We had booked for 7 nights so there should have been a room waiting for us. All he could say was "sorry, I only work here". We went to the cafe, as there was no point in arguing with him.

When we returned to the Alkionis Hotel in Moraitika he told us that the room would not be ready until 08:30. However, we could sleep in the reception if we wanted to. He then offered us a coffee.

At 08:30 the day receptionist arrived, and when I explained what had happened she did not seem that bothered, but told me that the room would not be ready until 09:30, as the cleaners would have to go in first. I told her this was not good enough, and told her when I had managed to get some sleep I wanted to see the manager.

They finally gave us a room at 09:30. However, it was directly above the dining room, which by now was in full swing, and it was therefore impossible to sleep.

I went to see the manager at 10:00, and again explained the situation (please remember that this was an all inclusive holiday, and although we had paid for 7 nights, we would now only receive 6 nights). I told the manager that when I arrived back in the UK I would be complaining to the operator. He also blamed them, and he said he had had problems before. I said that due to the loss of the night I expected to keep the room on at no charge until midnight on our departure. He said we could only keep it on until 08:30, which I had no choice but to agree to. However, I told him that I would expect to keep our all inclusive rating until we left, including drinks. He agreed. I then told him about the room being too noisy. He said that "yes, it is a noisy room", and he agreed to move us the next day.

The next day we moved, and it was a quieter room. As the week went on other things came to our notice...

The food, although plentiful was not brilliant in quality or in choice. The pool bar at the Alkionis was boarded up. When you went to the bar at night it took a life time to get served. When you went to any of the entertainment it was only translated in German.

When it came to our day of departure they told us that we had to come to reception at lunch time so they could cut off our all inclusive wrist bands.

At lunch we had them cut off and were given vouchers for our lunch and dinner. I told the receptionist that the manager had also promised we could still use the bar facility, but she would have none of this. It was very noticeable that once we had had our wrist bands removed that the service became a lot better. In conclusion, all I can say is simply, if you're English and want a relaxing week away in Corfu all inclusive, DON'T go to the Alkionis/Albatros. Your money would be a lot better spent at any other hotel in Corfu. Please don't be put off going to Corfu though, as this is not typical of Corfu or any of the Greek people. They are extremely friendly and welcoming people, and we have been to Corfu 3 times now, as it is a very beautiful island.
