Good Points: Seemed to good to be true...

Bad Points: Error 41 is one bad point. This machine uses too much ink. Ink is getting to expensive.

General comments: Error 41 is one bad point. This machine uses too much ink. Ink is getting to expensive. Found out this Brother 4820C all-in-one pain in the Butt Printer is a problem child. Now I get an error 41 message on the machine and need to buy an $111.00 print head. This machine looked good in the box with all its features, but as soon as I started using it, it has been a problem with errors. Next time I wil buy an HP!!!

I have a problem with error 41 this was fixed less than two years ago guess what same problem again Brother knows of this problem but will not fix it offered me a new printer at cost, I have bought lexmark 2550 a lot better printer and a lot cheaper. Therefore I do not recommend to buy the Brother All in one printers.

I had the print head changed after 9 months, 12 months later same problem, paid £400 for this printer. I will now scrap it, waste of time.

    Machine error 41.

Any chance of a free replacement big Brother printers.
Looks good. Expensive to run. Faulty from an early date therefore I do not recommend this MFC 4820c.

Returned it to Brother just after the warranty terminated for new print head. They did renew it for free though but a year down the line, guess what, it needs another print head and at $99 for a replacement I'm afraid it's going in the bin. Never again.

I like this Brother MFC 4820c 'all in one' machine, just wish it was more reliable. Had 'error code 41' which needs an engineer to come and change the print head - and mine has gone twice in a few months!!
Used loads of ink, and seems to need cleaning very often which uses ink.
Will only take normal thin paper - I can't use my slightly thicker letter heads in this machine, when it will work fine in my HP Laserjet...
Lots of the features are hidden deep in the menu system which can be fiddl ...

I wanted an all-in-one, and this Brother MFC 4820c seemed to fit the bill. I was surprised at how life-like the scans are, however, the print quality is poor and slow. Works fine as a fax and answering machine.

Setup using the keypad and screen is cumbersome.

I paid 700 dollars for this printer. Everyone said "go HP, they're way better". I looked at this printer (Brother MFC 4820C) and thought "for 700 dollars it better be good". HA! Boy did they see me coming! Unless they have got a lot better with their new printers... I say bring on the HP...
