Southerness holiday village...What can we say? We have just spent a week there and absolutely loved every minute of it. The food in the restaurant was top notch, the kids entertainment was amazing, the Allstars made us feel very welcome as did the bar staff. They were so helpful, keep up the good work guys we shall see you in September.

we spent a week at southerness holiday park, although the weather wasn't brilliant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The caravan was very spacious, a little drafty but comfortable. We enjoyed the peacefulness of it all, the walks along the beach, to the lighthouse, doing a bit of rockpooling and just chilling out. You do need a car, there are plenty of places to visit. I think the shop and facillities could open earlier, for people like us who are early risers.

just spent a week at Southerness holiday village we wont forget in a hurry.the wind blew all week, mostly inside our caravan, somtimes convinced the windows were actually open.frozen all week.combine all the play areas together then you have at least enough to entertain 20 kids,4 of them being mine, the nearest one was about a 3 mins walk from our van.
The swimming pool is tiny and has to be booked days in advance for a 45 min session,2 life gaurds.
The kids entertainment was great and full marks ...

Southerness, Southerness holiday village - Toilet Blocks always nice and clean. Plenty room for all tents. Good value for money.

Found this one of the cleanest sites that we have been to. The staff are all helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

We visited the park in early Sept and found it very relaxing (if not a little too relaxing) - would have been lost without a TV and found ourselves venturing the 20 mile round trip to Dumfries each day just for something to do.You need to pay for a pass to get in to entertainment at night, which is great if you like agadoo and cheesey "Abba" type bands with lots of kids dancing. It is a nice site, and the people are mostly very pleasant also but if you want some action, might be better to travel ...

As a young family of four our main concerns are is Southerness holiday village clean? is it safe? is it good value for money? I have to say generally the site is kept in good order. The pitches and toilets/showers are kept in pristine condition and we didn't feel overcrowded. The beaches are within five minutes walking distance however the waters can be quite dangerous and are subject to riptides. There are no lifeguards on duty on these beaches. The swimming pool was a real cause for concern ho ...
