So I got this laptop to refurbish;First let me say that when I started using it, shortly after, it would shut down, without warning;I opened it up, and there was no thermal paste on the cpu, whatsoever. After applying new thermal paste, it did quiet down, but still has issues-it overheats to the point of being unusable, even after setting it on a laptop cooler, it still gets quite warm. Secondly, The "CD Player" hardly works;you put in a disk, and all it does is hangs to the point of you... (read more)

I bought a HP nx9010DJ347A (X86 based) Laptop recently for sixty quid. I'v got it on a wireless internet connection. Its a bit slow, and only low on memory, but its basically a decent cheap little notebook if your willing to have a little patience. I'v tried using virus software but the nx doesn't run well, virtual memory etc, but I'll give this little notebook 8/10 for helping me access the internet till i can afford a higher spec machine. ste.42@hotmail.co.uk if youv any advice on... its an ideal laptop for people who want to do basic work like checking emails and other basic stuff....its noiseless and a cute laptop....its also fast...but its heavy and bulky and battery life is poor...u'll be lucky enough if the laptop runs for three hours (read more)

I've had this laptop since 2003, and I absolutely HATE this piece of junk! It's VERY SLOW, the batery lasts like 30 seconds, and it weighs like 700 tons. I definitely DON'T recommend it, it's HORRIBLE!! (read more)

This laptop sucks. It is not worth is money, it is slow, really heavy, and, worst of all, it is made by compaq. they make suckish computyers in the first place. Im sure i will get some angry replies from this saying that I dont know what im talking about. (read more)

HP Compaq NX9010 is a great laptop. Love owning it and it does all I can ever ask of a laptop. Very well built. Strong later laptops tend to crack and fall apart not this plus it is a p4 3.66ghz and 2.8ghz plays games well as well if you are looking for a laptop to last this is the one (read more)

Alright screen. If I hadn't got it for free then I would have returned it. Overheats incredibly quickly because of really bad fan placement. Melts the power cable. Incredibly poor battery life. Heavy and unwieldy.
Just really badly designed I feel and do not recommend the HP Compaq NX9010.

Good Graphics, And RAM for game play
I dont like this laptop very well, not very much memory. And the keyboard is hard to type on in my opinion therefore I do not recommend HP Compaq NX9010.

Great sounding speakers. Amazingly easy to use keyboard. Very performing.
I just got a nx9010 from my dads work, they were giving them away. Me and him have them, and we both love them. It's a great laptop.

An overall solid performer. It's not for running games, but then again you're not paying $5000 for it either. I have this networked with some of the other desktops in my office, and even connect to some MACs without any issues. (read more)

I have owned my NX 9010 since it first was available to sell through HP sales reps. I have had very few problems and have enjoyed my notebook. I own a small business and depend on it daily. I would recommend it to anyone for a business tool. (read more)

I recommend this HP Compaq NX9010 for those that buy notebooks for business and real work, NOT FOR games. You will enjoy the sound quality that is provided by JBL high quality speakers (Not good in Bass!). (read more)

When I got my HP NX9010 Laptop I was the most excited I have ever been. Since then that has faded a little bit but I would still recommend it, and wouldn't swap mine. I wanted to network it to my home PC but whatever I did, I couldn't get it work. Having a look around the internet I found a few people with similar problems. Other than that it is a lovely machine. Nice sized screen (15inches), I don't think you should go below 15inches for a laptop screen. It's not the lightest but... (read more)

I've had my HP Compaq NX9010 since September 2003 and I'm still satisfied with it's performance. The model I have is the HP nx9010(DG232A) with 256MB of RAM and a 2.66 GHz P4 processor. The graphics card is OK (ATI Radeon IGP 345M with 64MB of memory) and I've been able to play some games (e.g. Hitman 2, UT2004, Mafia) without much of a problem. The newer games (e.g. Splinter Cell, Ravenshield) take so long to start and render so horribly, its not worth bothering. Of course I could add more... (read more)
