Good Points: Leaving empty-handed despite the hard sell

Bad Points: The price, the service, the experience

General comments: My boyfriend bought me a "Herbie" facial for my birthday -- a real treat at over £130, right? Well, maybe no-one told the folks at Bliss that we're in a credit crunch. The therapist spent over 15 mins "diagnosing" my skin rather than pampering me and trying to sell me products. The spa feels like nothing but an add-on to the vast shop out the front. I felt that the service was cold, she was not interested in making it a good experience for me -- maybe because I'm not a Sloane Ranger on her lunch hour. Given the good rep of the spa, I was disappointed, the facial was very average. I would rather go somewhere local to someone who is interested in making me feel good -- especially if I'm paying them £2 a minute. Never again, Bliss Spa, sorry.

They don't have a lot of facilities, i.e swimming pool, decent food and day packages. It is very expensive for what they have to offer. I have been to cheaper spas and have had better service. The girls at front desk are very polite as well as the therapists. The products they use is great and the quality of the services are impeccable bar the one therapist. I felt she was too over confident and I ended up walking out with a sore face.

I arrived 5 minutes early, to be told to go downstairs and meet another member of staff who would greet me in the spa. Noone was there. I figured out the lockers and got changed and waited. Then someone arrived and showed me to a "lounge" room which had a plate of half nibbled cheese pieces on a plate and some tired looking fruit. I was invited to help myself - didn't look at all appetising. Eventually (15 minutes late) my therapist arrived. I was shown to a small room with absolutely no charm o ...

I had the treatment with him in the end, whom is a friendly/likeable character and I must say that in all the years I have been having massage treatments from female therapists, he is by far the best therapist I have ever come across.Never in my life have I felt so relaxed, especially when he massaged my head. Great experience at Bliss in the end, and will definitely return for more massage treatments.

I visited Bliss a couple of years ago, and after reading more recent reviews and realising that nothing has changed, I felt the need to warn others. I booked a basic facial and massage and was told when I arrived that the massage was cancelled as the therapist was ill. (They had phoned 35 min before and left a message on my mobile...while I was already on the train!). There was not much of an apology and absolutely no attempt to rebook that day, and then I had to wander around the area for over ...

Bliss has a 24 hour cancellation policy, which is fine. But, this policy doesn't apply to them! I missed one call 20 hours before my scheduled pedicure, and I caught the second one 6 hours before to find out that my appointment was cancelled. The reason was the woman who was to give the pedicure was stuck out of the country. The receptionist was very sorry, and when I went to rebook, I was given a time more than a week later because I had booked a "long" service! I was told I could have a basic ...

I booked in for the love handler. When I arrived I asked for the seawood detox treatment unfortunately they did not have the time. When I went downstairs to get changed I was told their wasn't enough keys for the lockers so I ended up carrying my bag in the lounge and treatment rooom. When I went in with my therapist I specifically said I was going out tonight and wanted some sort of slimming treatment. She recommended a scrub. I've never had a scrub at Bliss so went along with her recommend ...

Bliss London has clearly not grasped the fact that when someone visits a spa it is about the whole experience and not just the treatment. While my massage was great, I waited at the front desk for 15 minutes and then was told that I was late for the first part of my treatment. The woman in the locker room hovered over me about signing their disclaimer before giving me the worst robe ever. Nobody said anything to me afterward about rescheduling the first treatment and then the girl at the front d ...

I had some waxing done at Bliss Spa, London a few weeks ago. The beautician left the room in the middle of my wax! She miss half of my lip and then prattled on about her week. I don't care about your week.

Saying this - each of the women I have previously had were amazing. Ask for one of them.

I had a facial at Bliss Spa in London yesterday, which ended up being one of the worst spa experiences I have had so far.

First of all, when I booked, they were pretty unhelpful, and they didn't bother to explain the differences between 2 treatments I asked about, and booked me for a Triple oxygen. A couple of weeks after I booked, I called back to book an additional treatment at the same time. I left a message that no one responded to. The therapist had a really bad cold and kept coughing a ...

I love the 'idea' of Bliss- the products can be bought on line and they are very good, I went to the spa and had a Bliss Basic Facial (£98) with a microdermabrasion add on (£45). My therapist Karen was very very good and gave me some excellent advice. She suggested that I also have a oxygen spray to finish with as this will help control breakouts etc, this was another £25, but she made me fully aware of this and I didn't feel presSured into having it. The facial etc was all ...

Procedures and beauticians are great at Bliss Spa - very professional.

However, administration and client management is not one would expect from Bliss, in particular, if had previous blissful experience with Bliss New York. Administration staff (who makes bookings etc) are quick to say NO, not very keen to help, rigid and inflexible - there is no such thing like "service" with regards to client management. Such a shock to a SPA experience!

Taking into consideration quality of procedures ...
