“Worst service for first time trials of the gym...”

Written on: 16/08/2016 by PaitynRoth37 (1 review written)

I went to this gym a week ago I anniesland first of all I waited like twenty minutes after the reception lady knowing that I was here with my cousin for first time trials of just the sauna and steam. The person that was supposed to be dealing with me and my cousin was only about 10 feet from where I was waiting and the lady notified him twice or thrice that we were there. At this point if he didn't walk out I would have left. He came out didn't even attempt to be nice and present himself as a… Read Full Review

“unfair contract terms”

Written on: 23/07/2016 by leecottrill (1 review written)

Disgraceful how they unfairly treat customers with contracts. Be VERY careful to read your terms & conditions before you join this gym. If you don't cancel in time in the last month of your initial contract then they then sign you up to a further 3 months which you can't get out of. This is considered 'unfair' practice by the government's Office of Fair Trading which states : “8.1 A clause which states how long a contract has to run is likely to be among its most important 'core' terms. If a… Read Full Review

“David Lloyd Leeds, rip off to the maximum”

Written on: 21/07/2016 by Marinq402 (1 review written)

After a one million pound refurb in Aug 2015 you would think that what you pay in fees would more than enable the manager to allow air conditioning throughout the club instead of switching it of totally to save money, this is on top of a poorly maintained building that still has leeks in the roof, especially over the tennis and badminton courts. Hard working staff throughout the club, reception, cleaning crew, food etc but GM and otger managers leave something to be desired. Council run gym… Read Full Review

“David Lloyd Cheadle - customers come last”

Written on: 05/07/2016 by cheadleblue (2 reviews written)

If you're the sort of person who likes paying maximum prices for poor customer service then David Lloyd Cheadle is probably for you. The management couldn't care less about the members and consistently ignore any issues raised. It all seems glossy when you do your inspection tour, but once you're a member you'll find that the nice gym equipment doesn't get maintained. You end up reporting issues but they don't get fixed. Ironically they ask for feedback frequently, but I guess unless it's… Read Full Review

“If I could give them less I woyld”

Written on: 24/06/2016 by Kadence333 (1 review written)

I'm sorry but David Lloyd are nothing but a monet machine that want to take ur fees but not do things properly. Be wary when signing contracts as they don't explain the details properly and u could end up with late cancellation fees and debt collectors letters and an ear full of their lies about stuff they have done when actually they haven't. Read the review sites and pay heed to the warnings!!… Read Full Review

“Simply don't care”

Written on: 25/05/2016 by zeKerr31 (1 review written)

Poorly managed at local, regional and national level. This is always the last DL club in the country to "benefit" from the company's improvements scheme. The most recent harebrained "exciting developments" announced include the breathtakingly Baldrickian concept of permanently turning a championship-quality glass squash court into a claustrophobic Spin studio. A lose-lose situation if ever there was one: competitive squash will die at the club after one of the most successful decades of growth… Read Full Review

“Very disappointed with Stevenage David Lloyd gym”

Written on: 15/04/2016 by luMaxwell396 (1 review written)

It's easier to mention the few good points about the gym as the bad points I could write a book. The gym could be so much better but what a major disappointment. £47 per month . Joining/admin fee £40 ,Minimum year contract. Cancellation requires 3-4 months notice in writing. 20 pages of terms and conditions is a disgrace. Gym equipment is not being maintained properly. Only one good squat rack . Equipment in weight area for a commercial gym is a bit budgety. It's a sign of penny… Read Full Review

“Knowsley (Liverpool) don't waste your money ”

Written on: 03/04/2016

I have used a lot of gyms in the past but David Lloyd in Knowsley is by far the worst... Really over priced for what you don't get. Gave it 7 months but ... Poor management provides staff that are poorly trained, unhelpful, unapproachable, and unprofessional. Never met a bunch of more nasty people in my life. Mangers are rude and unresponsive. Staff were too busy looking at their own reflections and winking at themselves in the mirrors to be bothered with the paying clients. Swimming pool… Read Full Review

“Unprofessional and rude”

Written on: 22/02/2016 by Clairewiggins (1 review written)

I've been a member of Exeter gym for a number of years. But if there is ever a problem I found the managers incredibly unhelpful and on many occasions just not interested and very rude. The classes are always fully booked and yet there are spaces in the spin classes. The spin rooms are way to hot & only provide 2 fans. The gym is over crowded and the only thing they are interested in is more members I have never been spoken to the way the manger has spoken to me in my life. Disgusting… Read Full Review

I used to be a member..I left as I came out of there stinking of other people's sweat as the equipment in the free weights area wasn't kept clean and it took them months to replace the neck pads to use on the barbells..hard to get in the classes too..I caught verrucas from using there mats which are kept in a cupboard in the studio and it hums.A health hazard and the studio floors not cleaned in between classes..David llyod Hull.Expensive and poor choice of foods in the cafe,,I once witnessed… Read Full Review

It is all about money. i joined mainly for tennis. It is full of beginners who dont know anything about tennis. Courts had thick lines, that could affect the bounce of the ball. Bad lights. If you are interested to play tennis, avoid it. Too expensive club too… Read Full Review

“Very good experience at David Lloyd Worthing”

Written on: 07/01/2016

I have fallen across this review page and am shocked at what I read. I have been a member for a few years and have found my experiences at DL Worthing branch to be nothing but good with polite staff, no harsh selling techniques, and had there been I would be the first one not to be fooled by it, and facilities are what I expected with many choices of classes to attend. Excellent swimming pool and choice of classes. They even organised a trip to Bluewater in December which was an added bonus… Read Full Review

“Deceitful and completely not worth the money”

Written on: 10/11/2015 by Bradyn232 (1 review written)

Very deceitful. Read the small print of the T&C very carefully. They will not mention the 3 month notice needed to end membership even if you are paying via an annual membership. I can expect this as I should have read the terms closely but they will directly lie to you. They will also lie about various services available. In fact anything to make a sale honest or not! Also even if you give notice and hand your membership card back they will later denis this happened as still land you with a… Read Full Review

“Deceptive and overpriced”

Written on: 03/11/2015 by lewislennard (1 review written)

I've been a member of David Lloyd for a few times before but this time round I signed up for a years contract without being notified of a 3 month cancellation period which is ridiculous. Contacting the management at David Lloyd Stevenage was also a waste of time. The facilities also have not been updated for many years apart from the showers being started recently. Very disappointing for a £50 a month gym. There is one locally that is slightly more expensive but you get so much more Inc… Read Full Review

“Narborough David Lloyd”

Written on: 23/10/2015

Overpriced, unhelpful, just generally rubbish. Childrens facilities absolutely atrocious, they advertise childrens classes in age bands (3-4 / 5-8 and 9-11) because they can't be bothered they group together the 5-11 year olds and let them play football between themselves! Imagine a 5 year old playing against an 11 year old, no brainer really! 5 year old ended up in tears! was advised by a childrens team member 'we can't watch all of them at the same time!' in reference to 5 year old being… Read Full Review

would not recommend this hull david lloyd club at all the manangement are not interested in members only in taking money.they are quick to blame members for events out of there control and unforseen events, they gave me a normal buffet on my wedding day and i paid for a luxury buffet, and seem to thibk i should just let it go , why should i when i paid £1156 for my food overall on the day. the staff are miserable. also gym members not supported when an instructor decided they do not like them… Read Full Review
