Good Points: This phone looked nice and sleek, that's what attracted me to it.
Bad Points: Unreliable.
General comments: The Samsung E800 looks good but temperamental and definitely not worth the £250 I paid and doesn't have Bluetooth, mp3, video. After 3 months it started to cut people off whilst on the phone, then it would say that messages weren't being sent when they actually were, so I was being charged for them!! Then it wouldn't let me make or receive any calls!! Useless really!! I had it repaired 3 times and each time it came back with the same fault. I finally got a replacement and was given a d500 instead!

I have had the Samsung E800 mobile phone for about 8 months, and it has been dropped, thrown, splashed, chewed on (by my baby, not me!) and it still performs excellently. I was worried that the slide function would not last for long, but it is great. I would recommend this phone to anyone.- Read emmamaw's review (53 words)

I've had the Samsung E800 since February, and for the first month it worked fine, but then I started to get funny lines across the screen and the colours were very distorted. I got the phone replaced and it worked fine until just last week. The camera stopped working, and the screen went really funny colours. I then got lines across the screen, so I was unable to read texts etc., and all media messages got deleted?! The screen would turn itself upside down, back-to-front, or whatever else it ...- Read twinnyone's review (164 words)

I had the Samsung E800 on contract and from day 1 it wasn't perfect switching itself off but after a week it seemed fine and was a great phone for the 6 months it worked. It then kept going black and white, switching off and eventually was unfunctional. Vodafone fixed it on 3 seperate occasions and eventually I got a replacement which after a week did not work. In total I had 4 of these phones and they all had faults which Vodafone said were very common in these phones so I would never ever re ...- Read annabel999's review (110 words)

I've had my Samsung E800 for a year now and still love it. People here are saying they have had all kinds of problems, the only one I have is the battery life is a bit poor. Everything has worked fine, I'm on O2, and have no problems finding stuff on it or making calls or sending messages. I hope my next phone works as well as the E800.- Read kazagram's review (69 words)

The Samsung E800 is a brilliant mobile phone! I have had no problems at all with this phone, and will carry on having Samsung phones. Brilliant camera, and great zoom. The only downside is it has not worn as well as other brands of mobile phones that I've had.- Read Frankybutchers's review (109 words)

Just thought I'd say that my Samsung E800 was on the Orange network and sounds as bad as all of yours! Within 6 months the screen just went white, so I got it fixed and it has just happened again. After about a month of having it, it started turning off as I sent messages and generally was pretty awful. Not a good phone at all.- Read emilyallan's review (78 words)

This phone was purchased from new on an O2 contract by my student daughter. In less than a year, the camera failed, and the phone itself now looks very used i.e. it does not wear very well. The screen has a mind of its own, and sometimes will not work. I am using it temporarily, as my wife washed my Motorola V500 at 60 degrees, and it is now dead! My daughetr has now got a D500 on contract. That is a better phone all round, with many more featues.- Read Drac's review (155 words)

I bought the Samsung E800 phone in February on O2 and it was fine for a couple of months. After that it failed to send texts, make or receive calls and kept switching itself off! Was especially annoyed when had to walk about a mile to a phone box coz the phone wouldn't work to call for a lift home! Just taken it back to the shop and they said that they had to send it away because I should have noticed the fault within 28 days of purchase. After reading all the other reviews on this website, I'm ...- Read laurenberggren's review (131 words and 1 comment)

Sounds like people have been probs on O2, my E800 is on vodafone, had it for a year now and think it is awesome. Great camera and I put pics onto PC with a serial cable bought off eBay and Samsung downloaded software. Flash on the camera (good 4 clubs), small to carry around, looks flashy, easy to use, good speakerphone what more do you want?!- Read jonnoleeds's review (65 words)

I bought this phone when it first came out in the summer of 2004. I paid £250 for the phone itself only to be extremely dissapointed.
The menu is hard to navigate. Things you expect to be able to find easily are hidden and take a lot of searching.
Infrared on the phone also is rather poor. Neither are you able to send data or recieve it, only phone numbers.
I sent the phone in for repair three times for the same reason. This being for the dodgey slide mechanism and the keys.

I got one of these after my E510 broke down when the screen went. Vodafone sent 4 replacements which were all recons, and they were all rubbish too. So they gave me an E800 new in the box. I thought it was pretty cool having a new phone before the contract renewal. Now I can't wait to change it and give it to the kids, who by the way are fighting over it. On the whole it's Ok.. I have had no problems like the others with losing texts and stuff. It works fine. I am not a big user though. ...- Read N9eav's review (224 words)

Loved this phone at first, then about 5 months down the line it starts freezing, switching off and ending calls on it's own! About 3 weeks ago I started getting blank screens... it goes completely white for long periods of time. My phone has now had a blank screen for 2 days, I've tried everything!- Read kay cheel's review (70 words)

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE ON O2!
The problems started with the Samsung E800 after approx 3 months. Turns itself off and back on without pressing a key, won't receive text message, 8 out of 10 text messages fail to send, the phone won't make any phone calls - just says 'Network Rejected' and when you try to answer a call, runs out of signal, won't let you answer it and then tells you you have a missed call!! O2 fixed the phone the first two times, or at least, claim to, and then the third time, sent ...- Read rachelno1's review (186 words and 2 comments)

When I first got my E800 I thought - Wow, nice looking phone! Little did I know that I would soon be wishing I hadn't sold my E700 that was its predecessor. The blooming thing keeps shutting itself down, droping calls and refusing to send texts (especially annoying when it lets you type out a text and then shuts itself off half-way through!) Yes, I look after the battery! Having spoken to a few E800 owners, I'm not the only peeps having this problem. Contacted the place where I bought it fr ...- Read Nimueeblue's review (115 words)
