Good Points: Space, durability ease of erection. Guy line anchors very strong, especially when scouts trip over them!!
Bad Points: Weight of fully packed valise. Problems getting specific coloured poles for replacement
General comments: Cracking Tent now 5 years approx old used yearly by the Scout group I quartermaster for.
we have used 2 of these in all manner of conditions, also make a great base camp due to versability of design.
A problem is the design of the valise, the poles are stored along the spine and when the valise is dropped or bumped due to the weight this did cause the poles to splinter and shatter

Whilst other campers were drying out their sleeping bags after a very wet and very windy night near Brecon in South Wales. Our Vango 800 stayed watertight and intact. Quality. Recommend to anyone.

The Vango Vista 800 DLX tent has bags of living space. In fact, on one camping holiday, we had 12 adults sat on chairs in the central area. The TBS certainly worked for us. Our companions had a hole ripped in 1 tent and the other was blown over. Ours did have some slight damage in extremely strong winds, but on the whole it was insignificant compared to those without the TBS in their tents.
The tent is very heavy due to its size, and it definitely needs a minimum of 2 adults to erect it.

The Vango Vista 800 DLX is a huge tent.
TBS when used correctly does not work. It is to be used in adverse weather conditions, and the tent, according to the advertising blurb, offers mountain altitude. Our TBS ripped a hole in the top of the tent on the first night it was used, even though it was used correctly. Vango have duly explained to us that the tent only copes with winds up to force 5 (when investigated it turns out that in wind force 5 small trees will sway) - surely a contradiction ...

I would not say the Vango Vista is a superb tent, but its OK. Threading the poles through during erection takes ages, although once they're in the rest of the tent is easy to put up. The inner tents however do not fit easily. There is too much tension on the elastic fittings. In fact the tent generally has too much tension, almost as if the measurements of the poles are not quite correct for the flysheet. We have had our Vista 800 for nearly 5 years now. It is looking tired and worn. I would not ...

The Vango Vista 800 DLX is a superb tent. Easy to pitch, but best if there are two of you. Loads of room. Brilliant in high winds owing to the TBS system.
Great height through most of the tent and bedrooms can be installed to suit your own needs. Put up two to sleep 4 people and you have a living area of about 5m x 4m.
If it's really raining, you will need to put down the door awning, so cooking would have to be in the middle of the tent, but height is about 220cms so should not be a problem ...
