Good Points: 4 Years good service.
Bad Points: Tiscali have bought Pipex.
General comments: Oh dear! I have been with Pipex for a long time now and I've had no issues at all really even with changing my account and address. However now Tiscali have taken over it seems to have gone down the toilet. My card that I pay my account on is now out of date and you would not believe the nightmare I'm having trying to change those details. Not only can you not change them online but you can't get through to the them on the phone. You call and hold the line for 10 minutes being continually told how important your call is and then after 10 minutes your told very rudely to call back later when they're less busy. I can't wait to change my supplier. I'm sure the shareholders were all laughing their way to the bank when Tiscali took over! The customers won't be though!

I have been with Pipex for just over four years. The first three were excellent but now I cannot wait to get out. They continually change their terms (the latest is a £1 surcharge for credit card payment) and customers as far as I am aware have to call a premium rate line (10p per minute) for all contact in my opinion. I do not find this acceptable personally. I would not recommend them to anyone now.

I was with Pipex for 4 years or so, and even changed addresses during this time with no problems. I rarely, if ever, had any downtime at all. However, the time came when they weren't the cheapest option anymore (by some distance), and I wanted to migrate to another provider. After a few calls to their customer services to determine when I could change without having to pay a cancellation fee, I finally managed to get my MAC code and switch, but here's where my problems began. Pipex claimed I'd ca ...

I have been with pipex for 2 years now they are excellent. Dont listen to all the bad things that people are saying on this page. People generally talk more about bad things in life, thats Britain, were a bunch of miserable bastards. If everyone who had a good experience with pipex wrote in this forum it would flood it. Pipex are a great company.

Generally a good service supplier I have been with them for nearly 4 years now and not had that much trouble with them therefore well recommend Pipex broadband, my most positive thing I can say about them is the 24 hour free calls to all national numbers.

It would be a nightmare if you have to speak to their customer care and credit control. If you call is about mischarges, credit etc, it is almost impossible to deal with because different departments in pipex don't seems to talk to each other. It ends up that you will be the one in the middle calling one after another and the only result will come out of your calls is your phone bill (10/min).

Just overall a very poor service in my opinion. At one stage they took an extra £85.00 by direct debit and told me it was because I had canceled my contract as far as I am concerned. It then took me 6 months to get it back and in that time I was cut off three times and had to wait 48 hours to be re-connected. Half the time when I talk to someone I think they are abroad and I find it difficult to communicate. I do not recommend Pipex.

Pretty much since they changed their backbone to tiscali as far as I am aware, is when the major flood of problems have snowballed in my experience. As of today 17/04/08 I have limited connection to the net, a few things work I can access most websites but my connection to xfire, steam, wow, and many other things just ends in timeouts, I was actually online when I lost connection to wow, and have been unable to repair the winsock, tcp/ip have tried from several other computers in my flat, all to ...

I'm changing ISP's. Apart from one or two most are absolute dopes who don't seem to be at all phased when they know they are being unhelpful - it's not my department but I can't put you through.

Would NOT recommend Pipex to anybody. Many negative points in my experience! Unhelpful customer service in my opinion, if things don't work now I don't expect any help unfortunately. Infact the only good point I can mention is pipex.net are reasonably cheap for me.

Used to be excellent. No waiting to get through to support. Since they were taken-over support has declined. Had to call 3 times in one day as broadband was out. It was at their end that was broken, but on each occasion had to wait about 30 minutes to talk to someone. So these calls cost me circa £10...! No refund if they are at fault as far as I am concerned from my experience.

Unhelpful customer service. As the customer care phone number is not free, you will be assured to be frustrated after waiting on the phone, especially if you have to deal with a mistake that caused by pipex itself such as bill issues. I also feel that they pass responsibilities to different departments and the consequence is that you made lots of phone calls (not mentioning you phone bill), you still can't get the problem solved. After being with pipex broadband for over a year now, I don't feel ...

After four years as a Pipex Broadband customer, shortly before Easter, my connection was cut suddenly as far as I am aware. I phoned (put on hold for a good 20 minutes - at national rate) and asked why. I was told that since August 2007, they had received no payment for monthly subscriptions from my bank card. Probably partly down to me as I'd forgotten to change my card number with them when the bank sent me a new one, but to make no contact (they say they emailed me, but I never recall getting ...

Thanks to everyone for their reviews on Pipex. I was considering a change from Orange as I have Pipex's home phone package & was offered their broadband for free. Having read the reviews I'll stay where I am with Orange. I had major problems with Orange when they bought out my original ISP - Wanadoo. Things have settled down & the reliability & speed is good now. Thanks again to all the contributors. It's appreciated.

A completely inadequate service provider for me personally as they did not meet my needs i.e. responding to my communications as far as I am aware has not yet happened, refunding money owed for canceled services. I will never ever use their service again and will be sure never to recommend Pipex Broadband service to anyone asking about ISP's.

You can't add anything more than that, poor quality long waits for tech support you get disconnected at least once a day. I've recently experienced 35 disconnects in 4 hours as far as I am aware, you also get routed though the USA for EU servers, I've hopped though oxford pheonix and new york before hopping back to Amsterdam for a gaming server in my experience.
I do not recommend Pipex Broadband to anyone, I myself am going to Aquiss with their business 45 connection, I'm also considering IDNE ...

I can only echo what others have been saying. In my experience since they decided to change my package to a limited bandwidth (same time as Tiscali took over I think). I have had big problems getting a connection in the day time for over 2 months now when I never had problems for several years. They would have me believe its a problem with my computer and they seem to find my problem surprising. Strange that several other people I know that use this ISP have the same problems! Looking at the com ...

With a business account, it was fine whilst you didn't need anything from them. When the connection went down, there response was that it would be 1 to 6 days before an engineer would look at it, after that they would decide what needed doing to fix it. My discussions with there various support teams were many... which included them telling me conflicting things (even within a conversation). My personal recommendation, is to not use Pipex Broadband.
