Good Points: The finale is quite good.
Bad Points: Andy Garcia well off his game - he's so much better in intense roles. Sam Jackson off his game. Plot repeats itself time and again.
General comments: Twisted is a big disappointment. I have to say that I was really looking forward to this movie, the prospect of Jackson, Garcia and Judd in one movie was one that I thought could seriously deliver. How wrong was I?
The film is a bit of a bore, Judd and Garcia don't provide the chemistry expected of them and Jackson just seems off his game. I don't think the setting or lighting in this film helps, it is very dark and lacks moments of genuine tension and suspense.
The plot centre's around Judd's character, she is a cop with a drink problem who has a turbulent relationship with her boyfriend and an equally firey relationship with her police partner Garcia. After one too many bacardi breezers Judd conks out in her flat and wakes up the next day to find she has been raped. Now this may not sound like a bad plot, the only problem is that this sequence repeats itself about 3 times in the movie. So there is basically no plot development and it leaves you thinking 'here we go again'.
Jackson plays Judd's surrogate father, he took her in when her dad was killed in the line of duty when she was a child. Usually you'd expect Big Sam to be on top form in a role like this, but maybe he was as equally uninspired as I was with this dodgy script. Anyway, he helps Judd set a trap to catch the scumbag, be it the boyfriend, Garcia or someone else. The films finale is its best point but this cannot save a previously dull 90 minutes or so trash.
