Good Points: Decent Days and Nights, Stupid and Shallow, Hounds of Love
General comments: The Futureheads eponymous debut is a fantastic, exciting, energetic slice of indie British pop that should, by now, have garnered the same acclaim and following as Franz Ferdinand. They make edgy, arty, retro indie that sounds like the errant lovechild of The Jam and the Gang of Four.
While the Futureheads may be yet another band jumping on the new wave of art punk/pop and are sailing in the same ship as The Bravery and the Rapture, they write perfect 3 minute pop songs with clever lyrics and great riffs and they should be more than able to make their own mark on pop music.
Besides, who can fault a band who can actually make a Kate Bush song sound cool?
