Signed up with the Reed agency in Bristol towards the end of September, went in to sign all the necessary forms and to take a spelling, grammar and typing test. Halfway through the test the programme stopped working and I was told I wouldn't be able to complete it, I suppose this should have been a sign of things to come! The consultant I saw told me to e-mail him in about a weeks time to ensure he hadn't forgotten about me, surely it should be his job to contact me! Anyway after a week and a half I e-mailed him to see how progress was going only to have no response for another two weeks saying nothing yet had come up! Since then I haven't heard a single thing from them and have to say I am thoroughly disappointed with the lack of communication and effort they seem to put in, I would definitely not recommend using them! On the plus side I have also signed up with a smaller independent agency called Spec Recruitment in the Bristol area, who have been excellent

I applied for the jobs on-line for a year, out of 10 jobs a week I've got 1 a month reply ( negative or too late ). Once I've got interview with the company advertising conference sales office based position and in the interview meeting discovered that it is field sales in the opposite side of London. After a year I hardly visit website and would not recommend ,waist of time.- Read Guest's review (67 words)

One word to describe the Reed recruitment agency........ Appalling. I would place them in the same box as bankers and our wonderful robbing MPs. Completely and utterly concerned about their own income and not your career. As a company their consultants are simply unable to speak the truth and are the most selfish individuals i have ever met who are purely focused on what they can make out of you rather than what they can do for you!- Read Guest's review (78 words)

Reed is an absolutely horrible recruitment agency got a temp job through them finished it way ahead of schedule so I was moved around the office doing odd things then with no discussion from the manager or recruitment agent I was told I was removed from the job and I am now blacklisted. They are greedy, selfish and they are only out to make money off you and have no interest in finding you a good job as long as they can boost their own stupid wages.- Read Guest's review (87 words)

They are horrible!! I'm working part time and they are my agency. Every week there's something else they need or they do wrong. They call me at 7 in the evening asking for forms and threatening that if not delivered to their office by next day I'd lose my job. They are very unpleasant when talking to them, and basically treat you like nothing (they forgot about me booking a holiday and when I called them to complain about not being paid for holiday the manager said: we have many candidates so we ...- Read Ad84's review (186 words)

Compared to other agencies I felt that most of the time I was dealing with people who seemed either new to recruitment and/or generally just working for Reed as a gap fill and therefore I never felt as though I was given their full attention. A comment I read earlier was that some Reed consultants appear to be only interested if they can make money out of you as a candidate, this is a huge concern for me as I don't want my career to be driven by someone's commission / bonus. Obviously this is a ...- Read Guest's review (163 words)

Whilst dealing with Reed I did not receive acknowledgement of my applications, did not receive any response to my emails, contact named in ad appeared uncontactable by email or phone (always on Voicemail), no other person available to deal with my application or query. Did not receive a reply to messages I left, nor any feedback on results of interviews. The overall impression left to me is that if they feel they are not going to make money out of the candidate they are not interested. One of th ...- Read Guest's review (101 words)

I feel I experienced poor professionalism from some members of staff I dealt with. Although they got me 2 interviews in 2 weeks, I cannot emphasize enough on the poor service I feel I received from the Harrow branch.
I visited their office twice and always felt like I should do my bit and go as soon as. I thought they seemed to be extremely bored and anxious to get rid of me. I received no feedback after my interviews and no answer to my emails.
However, I like their website and would recommen ...- Read sinel's review (148 words)

Reed did not return my calls. Recruiters seemed rude to me in person. I found them patronising (have worked with several other temp agencies in the past). A lot of online jobs on their site tend to be people selling training. Or just the same job posted repeatably to bulk up lists. Local branch numbers are not listed so I couldn't even call them directly. I had to deal with my personal recruiter. 90% of the time they appeared as though they were not in the office.- Read Guest's review (86 words)

I worked through them for 9 months recently, they do always pay you on time which is good. However the communication is poor they hardly ever reply to your comments and questions, they really make you feel just like a number on their system. They were also very slow in sending out my p45 once I had finished with them in fact it took them over 3 months to send it out, dispite many calls and emails. They also send out emails telling you that you have to use up the holiday pay you have built up wit ...- Read BoredUkScientist's review (206 words)

Good variation of job descriptions and how many have already applied to the position...
At least human recognition of someone's application should be made in the form of a phone call I feel as it was not in my experience. There is no or little interaction between recruiter and candidate in my opinion therefore I do not recommend Reed.co.uk- Read shanta's review (84 words)

I think this is the worst recruitment agency I have personally experienced.. When I visited their office in my opinion they showed apathy towards client services. ie: just sit there typing away on their computer, oblivious that I have just walked through the door. When they did decide to approach, it was 'have you registered on our website? " No. That's why I have come in here to see you!? I do not recommend reed.co.uk. I since went and uploaded my CV on their website and not one recruiter has y ...- Read diddydoo's review (135 words)

Despite emailing the Reed recruitment agency 4 times, receiving a response that I'm no longer on their database, I'm still getting text messages. I don't want a job. I don't need a job. I have a job, and I wish they would stop contacting me - please!!- Read TREBORJ's review (74 words)

I registered with Reed about 3 weeks ago as I was being made redundant from my job due to branch closure.
And it's like they don't exist I have heard nothing from them regarding jobs, indeed I actually went in and spoke to a lady the person I wanted was busy so I gave my mobile number. Guess what no-one rang me back. A complete waste of my time. Don't register with this agency they are of no help..- Read coffey1's review (93 words)

Very poor service on telephone! I asked to speak to someone about getting a temp job and the man on the phone was rude, and not very helpful. First I was on hold then I was asked why I wanted to speak to the temp department. This call was not professionally handled. I have been waiting to hear back from Reed for a long time now, and think they're wasting my time. On fourth to the other recruitment companies!- Read spinnybv's review (109 words)

My Experience with reed.co.uk
There were 262,265 jobs online this morning at reed.co.uk. This site has been running since 1995. Vacancies there may be, but you can only apply for what you have experience in. The web site is designed to weed out the no-hopers. I have been using this site for some years now.
I came across reed.co.uk and liked the look of the site. It offered the ability to post your CV online, and so be able to e-mail it simply to employers. I had not joined other agencies ...- Read jonathan kelly's review (409 words)

Visiting my local branch of Reed give me a more impact for finding job than visiting their web-site.
Also staff attitude are varied by branch. Other branch staff wasn't interested in meeting - they said everything has been done by web/phone.- Read londonmike's review (76 words)
