These Yamaha Beech Custom drums are best kept secret .even the Yamaha company neverthought ,they would be the total success !they were planned to be the upper midrange series and affordable.but sound in some cases even better than more expensive Yamaha's .BEECH is out of production now.so check out for used kits, where ever you can.Good Luck !

The Yamaha Beech Custom is really good sounding no matter if it's tuned hi or low and easy to tune and stays pretty good in tune. I have 8" 10" 12" 14" 16" & 22" I bought it used and I got it very very cheap.. it really is the best set i have ever had and there's no drums i haven't played. Oh yes, liked my old Sonor Phonic Plus but that was so heavy to have on jobs. These beech custom drums don't weigh a ton and thay have a good sustain, not as much as maple, that's what i like and my band love ...

I'm 42, been playing for over 25 years and love Yamaha drums. This kit has "Gone Country", Top 40'd and Rocked hard for 9 years. Before that I owned a Tour Custom kit for 10 years with the same level of service. I will always play Yamaha drums.
Thank you Yamaha for providing such a professional instrument to assist in my career goals.

Really good quality, that's just what yamaha does, quality and i love my drums and the bassy sound, i have played it all, maple, birch, oak, "basswood" Philipine "Mahogany," bubinga and beech is where i settle for now. If you get the chance to buy one of these kits, i'd say do it!

When I bought my kit, I wasn't sure what kind of sound I was going to get or if I 'd like it with the styles of music I'd play, but I made a good choice. No matter how I tuned it, I loved the clean, open sound it provided. It sounded great in small clubs, and even better fully mic-ed in a large auditorium. I play 8", 10", 12", 14", and a 20" bass drum. From disco to Journey, it rocks!

I own one of them. Excellent sound, a professional item. Bad point, out of catalogues nowadays I think. Impressive kit as good as birch custom or maple custom. Good mid tones.

I flat out love it. It is incredible looking and maybe even more so sounding. The sound of the Yamaha Beech Custom is incredibly versatile, without having to retune or anything. This is by far the best investment of my life. I love it.

Bought a Yamaha Beech Custom shell pack off ebay (10" 12" 14" 22") for a great price. Checked out what they would cost new, and it's still very reasonable. And this is the Uk where pretty much everything is expensive!
Slapped on some evans g2 heads, and with the absolute minimum of fuss, they toms sang sweet and clear. The constuction is amazing too- Japanese gear is probably the best in the world.!!
Recorded a demo with my band not long after I got the kit, and the results were night and da ...

I have been playing drums for 14 years and was looking to get a new set of shells, excluding snare. I had looked at second hand sonor designer series, and was considering a brady and until I played the beech custom absolute, I never expected to find a Yamaha kit that I liked so much and decided to get it immediately. I was so suprised at the price for such an amazing sounding kit. I ended up being able to afford a Steve Jordan sig snare, new iron cobra double pedal and throne within my budget. T ...

Yamaha Beech Custom - I have owned these drums for a little over two yeas now, they sound excellent live or in a recording studio. My kit was a custom order, it consists of an 8", 10", 12", 13", 14", 15" rack toms, 22" x 18" kick drum (that sounds like thunder), and a 14" x 6 1/2" snare. They are made from 100% beech custom wood. I have been playing drums on a professional level for over 20 years, and I have owned many other Pro-Line drum kits, but Yamaha takes them all. If you are looking ...
