there is no way the Avlida Hotel should be advertised as 4*, 2* would be a better description, that was the overall opinion of most of the quests. The entertainment in hotel was a d.j? who played his kind of music with the help of the kids who followed him around. The food was plentyful but not enjoyable, with not much variation. Tea and coffee facilities in the room cost 6euros a day for two.2euros aday to have fridge.I would like to have known when they were issued 4* I think it was many years ago when it was refurbished.I will not return and it was our first time in Cyprus which did not make a very good impression. The hotel was shabby and the rooms very basic.Glad we were only half board, people who were all inclusive felt they had to stay in the hotel to eat and drink as they had paidfor it, which was not cheap.

Overall, be realistic and look at what you are paying. Some comments on other sites would have you believe it is the hotel from hell. It is not.
The public areas, other than perhaps the pool, are easily 4*. The corridors, rooms and pool are tired and in need of renovation. They are by no means unreasonable for what you are paying.
The food is good if a bit monotonous, but no more so than some 5* tourist hotels.Like most of us, individual staff members tend to respond well if they are treated wit ...- Read Guest's review (371 words)

The first impression given was positive, as the lounge is top class.
It was a bit of a hassle checking in as it was a bank holiday weekend for the island and the reception was packed. We soon went off to our room which we found to be up to standard except the TV which was a bit on the small size.
The food served was hot and plentiful always, never had a bad meal.
Some of the salads were not to our taste personally, but there was a lot to choose from as happens in buffets. Be sure to go to brea ...- Read homes4u's review (224 words)

Mmmm the Avlida Hotel! This was the hotel we chose as a honeymoon destination for two weeks.
On first entering the hotel, it definitely had the WOW factor with its marble flooring and lovely reception area.
My husband had already emailed ahead to say we were a honeymoon couple and asked if they could do anything, I.e. upgrade or maybe flowers or champagne. They emailed back to say that we would have something. But there was nothing. He had to make a complaint, then someone came to our room wit ...- Read feebilyweebily's review (965 words and 1 comment)

We have just returned from a good holiday at the Avlida Hotel. We were happily impressed with the hotel as a whole and with the area.
The beach near the hotel is ok, and it is really close, about 2 minutes on foot. There are better ones about 10 minutes drive or 15-20 on the bus.. Generally the location is good, near everything of interest. The hotel facilities and service were of good quality, meaning the rooms, pool, waiter service, food etc. Service from the bars and restaurant was alwa ...- Read PrimeTime's review (211 words)

Had a good time at the Avlida Hotel in Paphos, considering the price paid. South Cyprus is expensive compared to other destinations, so you should compare it to other hotels there; not Turkey or the Greek islands. One weeks all inclusive for half term was a very good deal. I too looked at the ratings and the reviews on different websites, and I felt quite worried. But as we have been to Cyprus every year for the last 22, I consider myself an experienced traveller that should share his experience ...- Read davelovescyprus's review (960 words and 1 comment)

Myself, my daughter , and my son all have ear infections and as my partner does not and did not use the pool like we did I now believe the pool caused this as well.
If you look at the Avlida website and book on this basis you are being grossly mis-lead and this must constitute unfair trading and fraud.
I would definitely not go back or recommend and I am now pursuing the hotel for compensation through UK and International trading standards as the hotel refused to reduce my £111.00. G ...- Read dwarren's review (485 words)

Very good quality for the money paid, almost on the beach and not at all far from anything of interest. Will go there again if we ever go back to Paphos.- Read Laura D's review (78 words)

As with previous reviewers, a little worried before setting off on hols. This was a last minute booking on a half board basis. As with a lot of Mediterranean hotels I would say the star rating was not as we would expect back home - probably 3 star. It all depends how much you've paid. All inclusive did seem to have the worst deal as the entertainment was extremely limited. If you have young children I would not use this hotel as there is very little to keep them amused, especially in evenings. H ...- Read evanssi's review (300 words)

We had a great time at the Avlida Hotel in Paphos. I won't go into any details because I don't feel like typing. All I have to say is that some of our fellow Brits think that they should have a couple of slaves waiting on them hand and foot when they are on holiday. Well sorry, it's not like that anywhere.
I expected no table service of any sort, and substandard accommodation like they do in a lot of AI's, and I was surprised to find out it wasn't like that at all. The waitresses brought us ...- Read robson73's review (243 words)

I would not rate the Avlida Hotel in Paphos a 4 star. It is more like a 3 star. I was worried when I had read previous reviews, but the hotel is OK, and it is nice and clean. The staff could have been a bit more friendly though.
The food was OK, but there wasn't a lot of choice. The pool area was OK, but there were not enough sunbeds. Also, the sun disappears in the late afternoon! The evening entertainment was non-existent, so we went out every night. Beware the baths in the rooms. Some have ...- Read Paula Clover's review (180 words)

If the Avlida Hotel in Paphos was refurbished recently, as stated in the Libra brochure and on the website, the people who refurbished it should be shot. The entrance was lovely to look at, but further in the hotel, the carpets, rooms, furniture and fittings were scruffy and dowdy. Our toilet was not screwed to the wall, so flushing it was exciting, and our bath was painted, badly, inside, which made it very uncomfortable to have a bath. The shower worked well, but the water was variable, and ha ...- Read Anita Simpson's review (540 words)

The Avida Hotel in Paphos is in a great location. It is good for families with young and older kids. The food is nice, and the hotel is close enough to walk to downtown, and it is a short walk to the beach. There is a lovely swimming pool area, and the staff at the hotel offer a very good, quick and friendly service.
Everything was just so good. I enjoyed every minute of my holiday. I recommend this hotel to anybody that wants great quality at an affordable price.- Read edward36's review (94 words)

Avlida Hotel - All in all we had a good holiday. I myself had no problems with my room but a friend had a water leak but reported it and it was fixed. I thought the bar staff were ok, I thought the food was good, there was only one night where I was not happy but that's because they didn't have anything I liked.- Read marcmvv's review (113 words)

Avlida hotel Was the cheapest deal for a four star hotel. The photos looked ok so we thought we should try it, I did well.
The food was fabulous. It was varied and themed every night, (we mostly dined at night), never noticed anything repeated and it tasted just fine, a good mixture of worldwide cuisine. As good as a number of restaurants I had been to in paphos when I last went on a self catering accommodation,. The service was quick in the restaurant and at the bar, and the waiters were po ...- Read Simon38's review (542 words)

I stayed at the Avlida mid September, left with very good impressions. The pool area was lovely, had a large area which I could play with my 3 year old without worrying as it was separate from the deep pool.
Bar prices were ok, a bit more than pub prices in England. Food was lovely, good selection morning lunch and dinner.
The rooms were big, sunny and cleaned every day, had a nice sea view even from the 1st floor.
In-house entertainment seemed to be good, was varied weekly, didn't st ...- Read Simon38's review (189 words)

Avlida hotel is billed as a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in better B&B's in the UK than this place.
On arrival I had to clean the toilet and fix it. When I asked to move room I was told "we are full, tough". Very 4 star! The food was rubbish, warmed up leftovers cunningly disguised; we ate there 3 times in two weeks. the price of the drinks including water was a rip off about 40% more expensive than in town and very weak too.
Paphos is nice but give Avlida a miss!- Read buster67's review (113 words)
