Good Points: Friendly staff, large gymnasium, good location.

Bad Points: The hotel looks tired and dated and is certainly not 5*. A new hotel is currently being built next door with drilling and noise starting at 6,30 am, 6 days a week. They didn't mention this when I booked!

General comments: I have been to this hotel in Paphos on 2 occasions in 2004 and again in October 2007,during that time nothing has changed.I think the hotel needs to be re-furbished to bring it up to modern standards, the corridors need complete re-decoration as the plaster has blown on the walls, the carpets are worn out and should be re-placed,most of the lifts need re-placing as they are old and noisy. The place is over run with cats who are a complete nuisance especially at breakfast time, the staff tell me they have regular culls but others come and replace them. The food is adequate but in the dining areas all the tables and chairs are old and worn out.On first entering the hotel it is obvious that it is now not a 5* building but a good 3*.The current owners realise this as the hotel has been for sale since 2003,but as it needs large amounts of money spent on it this puts prospective buyers off which is a shame because it has an excellent location and could be a superb hotel. Sadly I won't be returning as there are far better hotels at the same price in the near vicinity

We stayed at Venus Beach Hotel on the 18th January 2005 for 3 weeks. Having read previous reviews we were sceptical of what we would find and we were extremely surprised. The hotel was fantastic. The food was excellent with a varied menu and theme each evening. The hotel was very clean and the reception and all hotel staff were very friendly.
The entertainment was very dated, i.e. Bingo, Karaoke etc.
The fitness centre and pool were not managed by the hotel. The area of the pool was very cold ...

Venus Beach Hotel is in a quiet location within walking distance of Paphos Town. Next door is a major National Historic Site. The pool is very near the ocean. The beach is rocky on one side, sandy on the other. The main public areas of the hotel varied from cosy to lavish including a two story mozaic mural. Food varied from adequate to good to exceptional. Perhaps, best of all, hotel staff arranged private tours of the island that were beyond the normal holiday fare and allowed interaction with ...

The Venus Beach Hotel is sold as a 5 star by lastminute.com. However, under no circumstances should it receive this rating. The name itself is perplexing since there is no beach but a bunch of rather dangerous rocks.
The service is literally appalling. Every 5 star I've visited there is help with the sunbeds & umbrellas. We were lucky to even find a free sunbed. The pool area was crowded and swimming in the pool was impossible due to the sheer volume of people.
There is no a la carte re ...
