Good Points: The pool is small but a tidy size. The sun terrace was nice and provides good shading. The layout is quite nicely done around the pool area so you can keep a close eye on your children. Quite a relaxed atmosphere. The bar staff are friendly. The outside is clean and maintained. Some of the food was quite nice.

    Bad Points: Many!

Firstly, we didn't see any information informing us that there were charges for the safe deposit box. Our room looked nothing like the pictures on the brochure. The place was over run by cats and often run into our apartment. The kids club did not run every day and my daughter found it completely boring. The park slides were made of metal, burning my child's legs. It was a complete disappointment to me.

When we discovered there was no lifts after booking, we then contacted the hotel before departing explaining that I have a young baby in a large pram and would be extremely difficult if we were not located on the ground floor. The hotel manager emailed me to say he had located us on a first floor which was easy access. This was not the case. When we arrived at gone midnight, we had to carry three suitcases and the pram (with the baby inside), up two flights of stairs. It was a absolute nightmare. We often needed to pop in the apartment to feed, change and cool down the baby which made going back to the apartment a drag. We were constantly exhausted from carrying the pram up and down flights of steps. We spoke to our rep on the first day and explained the situation. She was not helpful in any way and told us to leave the pram in reception at our own risk of course! My pram costs hundreds of pounds and would not be naive enough to leave it lying around. We had no presentation of what we could do in Cyprus and she spent less than ten minutes telling us about trips. When we are on holiday, we enjoy exploring the island and going on as many trips as possible. The rep told us, the children would find it boring and the only one we could do was the water park. That was the last time we saw her throughout our entire holiday!

The following day our Air conditioning began to leak with water and by the evening was pouring out. We collected video and photos as evidence. The balcony was soaking and muddy due to the leak. We reported this and was fixed the following day. We were told a cleaner would come and clean the balcony and no one came.

The next day the cleaners came which would have been our third day. Not only didn't they mop the balcony floor but also didn't mop the inside of the apartment so after a shower our feet were stinking, ruining my new shoes!

The next day (4th day), I was at the end of my tether when my daughter was refusing to shower. When I made her jump in the shower, she slipped in the bath. I was annoyed as she didn't use the bath mat until she showed me the reason why. The bath mat was covered in black mould! We were almost sick by the sight of it. Again, I have taken pictures of this. I contacted the manager and asked him if this was acceptable. He had the apartment cleaned and changed the bath mat. We were quite upset that we just spent a fortune on a completely dirty apartments and a nightmare holiday. That evening we popped over to the hotel across the road. A rep approached us asking if we were enjoying our holiday, thinking we were apart of their hotel. We explained the situation to her. She told us how wonderful Cyprus is and went through the Thomas Cook trips and decided what was right for us and we booked through her. She saved the last two days left of our holiday. The hotel manager of that hotel was very sympathetic and told us how welcome we were at their hotel and to come any time and use there facilities.

The day before departing, my son and I fell ill. I couldn't stand in the heat for more than a minute before passing out. We were both ill and missed our trips that day as I was not well enough. It's one of those things that happened and was not aggravated by this but we were far more upset when we asked the hotel if we could book the room for a later check out. They said we would need to wait until the morning and ask the manager. When we asked the manager they said they had nothing and we shared our concerns that our flight did not depart until nearly 1am and we couldn't store feeds for that period of time. We explained we were not well and needed the air conditioning as I was passing out. They said they had all the facilities we needed and did not need to worry. So after checking out at 12 we sat in the reception which was not air conditioned. I asked the receptionist where the coolest part is as she promised. She told me outside!! My son was so over heated, that he was being sick. He wouldn't take his feeds. It was the hottest part of the day and we were forced to sit outside for hours. When we demanded at reception that they turn the air conditioning on as my son was being sick and I was faint, they finally did so with a fuss! We asked where we could change the baby's nappy. They said to use the gym, on one of the benches. The benches were narrow. My son is 6 months old and wriggling around on the bench, making it extremely dangerous. They only had showers downstairs and no bath so I could not bath the baby. I thought the shower smelt of urine! We could not store my sons feeds or baby food. We were all, sticky, tired, hot and uncomfortable. We had 14 hours of hell on the day of departure.

General comments: I was quite disappointed as I read over the Louis King Jason Hotel reviews and it sounded wonderful. Whether they let standards slip being that hectic time of year or whether we were just unlucky with the cleaners that cleaned our block. During our time there, 3 other families had been at reception complaining.. Another family to a rep and these are only the times while we had been walking through reception.

Be careful when deciding what dates to go there. It is justifiably popular with families with children during the school holidays, which means during these periods the pool is full with lots of children enjoying themselves (and of course being noisy...).
Outside this period the complex changes completely and becomes an oasis of calm.

It is 5 - 10 minutes leisurely walk to Paphos harbour where you'll find Bar street (clubs and bars for the young at heart), shops and a wide range of restaurant ...

I stayed at the Louis King Jason Hotel on a late deal. From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the friendly helpful staff. The room was very spacious and clean. There were small gifts left for us on arrival and departure of the hotel. There was a lovely pool area with plenty of space. There was an excellent selection of food every night.

The accommodation was slightly out of town but was well worth staying there!
