Is it safe for African American women to use Garnier Nutrisse hair color. I notice one of the package had a picture of an African American.

I have used Garnier Nutrisse 100 light natural blond and had no problems although it does not really lighten it as much or come out anywhere near the color shows on the box but I was happy with it because it did not seem to damage my hair.
Yesterday I colored my hair with Extra Light Ash #111 and it turned my hair BLUE light Blue and GREY...... OMG
At the roots where my natural blond is going dark grey and dark blond it colored OK but the rest of my hair is all grey and blue with some of the bl ...- Read Guest's review (171 words)

This is great hair colour! Have found that it is the only one that does not dry your hair and it gives a true brown colour- others on the market always make my hair have a reddish and brassy colour. Keep this product forever garnier and I will be your loyal customer. Thanks! thanks! Find that it is fairly avordable and fairly easily to apply . The odour is better than it was before GREAT! Only wish it would last longer as my hair grows like a weed and the roots appears in about 4 weeks - don,t l ...- Read Guest's review (127 words)

I bought the garnier nutrisse dark natural blonde, my hair color was a light brown with blonde highlights, i did it at night and waited until the next day to check out the color. to my surprise it was almost black and my highlights which were once blonde were all gone, very upset and would not recomend this to anyone. the box said it had a nice fruity smell, ya the conditioner and the oil but when i applied it i though my eyes were going to fall out, biggest waste of money. the next day i bought ...- Read Guest's review (118 words)

I used one of the Garnier Nutrisse darker brown colours (think it was 4.3 Chocolate Brown) and my hair has never been in such a bad condition.
Every time I wash my hair it gets knots in it, I've tried changing shampoo and conditioner and it's still bad. I didn't have this problem before I used Nutrisse and I brush my hair every night before I go to sleep to try and make sure it doesn't happen the next day.
I am now waiting to colour my hair again but with a different product!- Read Guest's review (93 words)

Garnier Nutrisse hair color SUCKS! I will NEVER purchase this again, it turned my hair an awful gray color! And the conditioner does not even condition your hair very well. I have used many hair dyes but the product is by far the worst!- Read Guest's review (44 words)

Well i just recently decided to dye my hair red so i decided to use the Garnier Nutrisse deep red hair dye. I did the 48 hour allergy test, applied to dry hair, left on for 25 minutes, and washed out then conditioned fully. After drying my hair i noticed my hair was black with a tint of red.. although the picture on the box and the colour of the hair dye convinced me my hair would just go red. My hair was a light brown to start with so its not asif its the colour of my hair that took great affec ...- Read Guest's review (132 words)

I used Garnier Nutrisee color "Acorn" which was supposed to be light natural brown. It came out DARK brown and my hair won't hold a style longer than 30 minutes. I would not recommend this brand. I will return to Clairol.- Read sharon stiner's review (40 words)

Usually i buy boots own brand, a. because its cheap and b. they have the colour i want. Only problem is now they have changed their formulation and the colour struggles to last 3 weeks.
The colour of the Garnier matched the colour strip on the box and i now have lovely glossy hair and the colour i want..
However don't believe everything the box says
Nice fruit smell???? yes the conditioner for after the colour smelt lovely but the smell of the hair dye was awful. no resemblance to any fruit that ...- Read Beckilou's review (141 words)

After colouring my hair Golden Blond, I decided to darken it a little and go for Light Brown Garnier Nutrisse. Davina McCall made it sound so good when she emphasised that fact that it nourished the hair. My hair ended up ever so soft, but very dark brown.- Read Guest's review (59 words)

Garnier Nutrisse conditions your hair really well.. making it shiny and easy to comb your hair afterward. My hair was originally black and bought the reddish-brown tone from Garnier. I believe it is 452. The result is as if I hadn't colored my hair at all!! I think I may need to go for a really lighter tone.- Read Guest's review (61 words)

Garnier Nutrisse - The color is exactly what I expected. You must realize what your natural undertones are, and what the product limitations are. The phone representatives are extremely knowledgeable and able to assist you in choosing the shade that is right for you. The product is very affordable, and seems gentle on your hair.
You must be patient and dedicate the allotted amount of time for this project. Remember that your hair will not be colored in 10 minutes at the salon, nor will it b ...- Read betsydawn's review (132 words)

I would recommend this to gals that want to go back to the brown family after bleaching their hair blonde. It turned out way better than I ever expected for at home hair color with no filler needed. However, if you don't like a slight red tint I would stay away.- Read ckall's review (77 words)

I like this product easy to use and your color wares down very gradually not overnight so you can take you time re-doing the color. Also the conditioner is very nice and has a great smell.- Read irjb's review (68 words)

I first used Garnier Nutrisse in 69, Sweet Pepper. I am a natural dark brunette, and the red over it was actually extremely vivid. However, it faded well into a dark auburn, to the point that I couldn't tell where the regrowth line was, and left my hair very silky and in good condition. I like the color and how it blended well, but I found the smell of ammonia to be overpowering. Every time I use it, I have to be in a very well-ventilated place.- Read Guest's review (91 words)

I loved this Garnier Nutrisse colour, I used shade 6.6 Watermelon red. It was fantastic, did just what it said on the tin. My mum put it in for me and my fears of it going wrong were cast away while I saw my wet hair getting dryer and rapidly redder. It was great, I'm using it again Friday.- Read IssyLJ's review (64 words)
