I have thick, medium-dark hair. I decided to save a few bucks and try out this foam color instead of my usual John Freida. First thing I noticed about this product was the strong smell. Then, that the foam really wasn't very "foamy", and made multiple puddles on my floor! Let me first say that I have been coloring my own hair for years without incident. My hair is naturally dark auburn, so I just wanted to hided my very light gray. Thought the foam would be fail-safe. I followed the directions extremely carefully because I'm new at this. The left side of my hair is dark red and the right side is orange-y red. I've washed my hair 4 times since and it's not getting better. Heading to the salon this afternoon to have it fixed. I bought this product to try instead of my normal hair dye. I was going to a party that evening and wanted to give myself a boost and cover a few grey hairs. My hair is very dark blonde to light brown. This was awful, came out super super dark and very patchy all over and in one side almost a square half way down my shoulder length hair was lighter than the rest - much lighter. The colour doesn't last as for a permanent hair dye, washes out after 1-3 washes. Leaves hair dried out and brassy. Wouldn't recommend at all. (read more)

Terrible product and awful customer service! I bought an ash blonde colour, which made my hair go dark brown. I contacted them via their website to express my dissatisfaction. It's been 4 weeks now and I have still had no reply from them. Will not be using their hair colour product again (read more)

the same has happened to me! i bought no 7 dark blonde and it has made my hair really dark brown, much darker than it was before i used it. aaahhh!! it's horrid

I just colored Dark Intense Auburn (color R1)yesterday and this is the worst experience I've ever had with hair coloring. I've rinsed for over 4 hours in the past 2 days and the color is still coming out all over my towels after towel drying my hair. Gave me a chemical burn as well- this product is awful. (read more)

I bought the extra light camomile shade to lighten my hair as I wanted to dye it back to blonde.It says on the box it can lighten hair up to 4 shades WITHOUT the need of a prelightner. HOW WRONG IS THAT!!! My hair was only a light to mid brown before now it's auburn with blonde roots. I've been going to my salon for several years, and whilst I was always pretty pleased with the results, the cost was a bit factor in looking at an alternative. I was faced with 2 choices - either accept my boring, thin and rapidly-advancing grey hair (preferred by husband, doesn't see what all the fuss is about), or take the brave plunge and do a home colourant. I've home dyed my hair many many times and picked the shade 3.6 deep red brown for a nice rich tone. After carefullyfollowing the instructions I applied colour etc. After blow-drying I discovered the colour of my hair was actually purple. Couldn't go to work with purple hair and had to get it stripped by a professional hairdresser and re coloured. Not a cheap process. Not only that I appear to have suffered a reaction with itchy skin and eyes. Will not be using this product again. (read more)

I fancied a change in makes of hair colour, I'm blonde an was just doing my roots chose a blonde nearest to mine I bought 2 so I could finish on ends and would be a good coverage, however my roots came out dark ginger and the ends were wiggy brown! I then I had to go and buy 2 of my regular one, my hair was in good condition so know reason at all why colour would be like that. Would never use again (read more)

Do NOT get this! It is absolutely awful!!! I have blonde hair, dyed it brown and it came out the exact same color as my hair was before, and i used 2 boxes. “Dye only takes hold in some spots”

I used the number 30 darkest brown sweet cola it's a few shades darker than my natural color it made some spots extremely dark and some places are my normal color its horrible!!! I used two boxes and followed instructions.Hopefully the salon can fix it or its gnna be staying pulled up for awhile. Defintley won't be using again. Now I am very open to Garnier products so I decided to try out the Ice Blonde as it was a beautiful colour on the box. Applied it exactly how it said, used the conditioner provided and then when i looked in the mirror, streaks of my hair were blue/grey!!!! I was appauled. Washed my hair a further 3/4 times and it gradually washed out but not thoroughly. I had to go and buy another hair dye, Clairol (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!) to cover this disgusting colour. I love the coulee "ice blonde " in this brand! Lifts my DARK brown roots to a very light blonde no orange and matches the rest of my hair ,lasts long without brassiness and leaves my hair in lovely condition,will def continue to use this for my roots and a colour touch up would recumbent for dark roots,and didn't need to use a toner after :) (read more)

I'm naturally a medium blonde and dye it to a more golden colour and i love it. It makes it feel silky and does not dry it out at all. Freshens and brightens it up. I use 8.03 and my mum is a natural blonde and uses 9.00. I would definently use this if you are not going for a dramatic change, however the colour is slighty darker then on the packaging. If you don't want strikingly red hair, do not get this product. And I mean STRIKING. I have naturally light blonde hair, but I dye it red every now and then because I get bored. The color was EXACT if not even more bright than what was on the box. I have super thick about chin-length hair, and I needed two boxes. But really, it looks like my head is on fire. In order for you to go lighter you either have to bleach your hair or leave it in for 2x the recommended time, although even just leaving it in for long won't do too much.

For the past 6-7 months I regularly went to the hairdressers to have my colour done but it just worked out too expensive. So, after searching many brands for the perfect colour match I compared mine against 8.13 Ash Beige Blonde (as my roots were light brown, but the rest light beige blonde) it seemed perfect. I hate to say this but your kind of an idiot, you always do an allergy test before using a new hair dye. its real easy, even tells you how to on the instructions. You put a small dab of the product on a clean area of skin and leave it for 45 mins or so, if you get a rash where the product was you don't use it. Easy as that.

Very unhappy with this product. I bought radiant blondes natural blonde 8.03 hoping to go a shade slightly lighter than my natural blonde shade but this did not happen it is now a sort of dirty water brown colour and very dull. Wish I'd read the reviews before buying this product! I wanted to lighten my dark blonde hair, so purchased 8.03 Natural blonde. According to the box, my hair would become a beautiful shade of blonde - instead, it's a strange,depressing shade of dirty light brown! Off to the hairdressers tomorrow to have it corrected!

I actually have light brown hair and find this product works really well. I cannot use ammonia as it caused my hair to break off thank you Clairol and L'Oreal for ruining my hair this is the ONLY ammonia free PERMANENT colour for sale in Canada unless you go to the health food store. I find it covers the grey very well and gives me the colour I am looking for but yes the light blonde is actually light brown.

I bought a light brown to try and lighten my dark brown hair and it has done nothing! no change in the colour well other than slightly darker not happy waste of money!!
Only good thing my hair smells lovely and soft and shiny but dont like the colour now! i have a salon appointment tomorrow to get a nice colour.

Having coloured my long mousey blonde hair with many shades over the years, I have recently found it difficult to find a colour that actually lightens my hair any more. Also I have recently had some unsuccessful highlights done at a salon which simply left the roots as bad as they were. P.S (This is my review before I signed up) If you want beautiful, light, bright blonde hair, DO NOT buy the Ash blonde colours, they often make your hair go dull and grey looking and sometimes darker than you started. This is not just this brand of Ash that does it, it's a problem with Ash shades in general. My advice is ALWAYS do a strand test when you are using a product for the first time, this is particularly important if your hair is already dyed. The rules of chemistry and physics (light spectrum) do have an impact on the colour your hair ill end up. Also, always stick to the recommended time for the colour to develop, rinse it off too early and you may end up orange!

I've just used Garnier Nutrisse, ash beige blone 8.13. I'm not a happy bunny. I naturally have medium brown hair and I have never used a colourant before. The colour chart on the side indicated tht it would work on dark brown, work well on medium brown, and work best on dark blonde.

Sounds like the Ash colour you used is the problem, Ash blonds are renowned for making your hair look a bit "grey" and dull. Perhaps try a more golden blonde on your hair as this will retain the vibrancy you like.

Well I know others have had problems with this hair colour as reported here but all I can say is I never have!
I think this product is extremely good. I have dark brown hair with a tiny amount of grey and over the years I have used various brown shades and various reddish shades in the Nutrisse range and I have liked them all! Just used Nutrisse shade 8.13 Ash Beige Blonde on my coloured honey blonde hair to do the roots and tone down the brassy bits.
Wish I'd read the reviews first! I was seduced by the colour on the box advertised as Champagne tones, but my hair is now darker, and a weird brown colour.
Hope it washes out a bit as I can't afford to go to a hairdresser which is why I bought this in the first place.
I don't know how Garnier get away with this, only thing is they say results shown are on natural...

I'm fairly new to the home dying process and started out with a Garnier Herbashine colour. That went well so I've moved onto the Nutrisse range and gone permanent. I use 4.6 Dark Red on mousy brown hair and I think it works really quite well. It also leaves my hair really nice and shiny.

My hair is dark ash blonde, but when I used the extra light ash blonde, my roots came out brassy gold - that did not happen with Revlon colorsilk. It (Nutrisse)also damaged my hair. If your hair didn't turn change colour- how could it? It's not a lightening bleach. If your hair went grey- well you did put an ash on it. (Ash is grey...obviously) THIS CAN BE AVOIDED BY READING THE LEAFLET.
If you scalp burnt- why didn't you do the skin test? If your hair looks awful- why didn't you do a strand test? If you didn't follow the instructions, more fool you. Garnier make colours that go not on top of white so they can be predicted 100% everytime- but on top of whatever colour,...

I found this review not helpful because...it sounds like a rant from someone who works for Garnier! Hair colour does go wrong, even if you follow the instructions to the letter. It's time somebody did something about the misleading adverts and photos. How come you never get the 'Brass Roots' effect when you go to the hairdresser? I think they keep the good quality colourants for their salons, to ensure we keep them in business.

Nations favourite nutrisse 8.03 natural blonde isnt my favourite, turned my hair a brassy orange. Ive used a similar colour in the belle colour range and it gave a natural golden blonde tone to my med brown hair. Im gutted stuck with ginger/copper hair for now. You have to give at least one star but I think there should be an option for NO stars. I've been dying my hair for 15 years. This is the WORST product ever. I bought light brown and it turned my hair totally red. It didn't have any red in it before and now it's redder than Brie from Desperate Housewives. Also it turned my grey hairs bright orange. I bought garnier nourishing foam dark blonde color . My hair was light golden auburn then I did dye my hair and now my hair is BROWN this is so annoying . I can not believe this. This product is awful. It shouldhave written light brown on the box instead of dark blonde , it is very far from being blonde, just ridiculas.
I never recommend it never ever !!! I wish I bought my own color and brand. Or I should have gone my hairdresser!! I am so upset because my bleach and my lovely color is gone ;(

the same thing just happened to me. the color was called "Dark Natural Blonde". My hair is now mousy brown! ugh!
