This product is terrible. I bought the lightest ultimate blonde and followed directions perfectly. My hair turned out a gross yellow color. My hair was the same color as on the box and it was supposed to turn out a pretty light white ashy blonde. It didn't. Don't waist your time or money. And by all means don't ruin your hair. Won't make this mistake again! (read more)

I used this product for the first time last week. My hair is a very dark brown and i wanted to enhance my natural colour whilst getting the greys covered at the same time but was anxious that i didnt end up with black hair, so i contact L'oreal Customer services for advice. I was advised to try the 'Natural Brown No 5' shade - which i did. The result wasnt what i was expecting!!! - my hair didnt go black...but ended up with very noticeable copper tones running through it!!! yuk!! Not sure... (read more)

I read very mixed reviews on this colour but I have to say it worked brilliantly on my hair. My natural colour is light brown with alot of gold tones and have had to use the ultra lift dyes before, but wanted to find something that lifted my hair without being so strong. I tried the ash blonde in this range but it did make my hair look a dirty dark blonde and the light ash blonde very similar. With the extra light blonde it has lifted my hair but it is a very natural blonde which I have... (read more)

Excellent result in colour. I have been tried several shades of brown over the past few months. My problem was that my hair had lightened naturally because of the sun and sea. i wanted to go darker to my natural tone and as i dont have any greys my plan was to dye it one time only. I started with natural light brown which on the box looked exactly like my natural colour. It turned out beautiful to begin with, although slightly darker than expected. within a couple of weeks it had faded to a coppery-blonde. since... (read more)

Okay, so before I get into crazy detail, let me just inform you a little background history of my hair. So, a few days ago I decided to bleach my hair with 'l'image blonde max" something like that. I do have to say being a haircolor junkie it did turn my hair blonde fast. I rinsed it out when it was at pale yellow with a tiny tinge of orange in it. To cover / tone that horrible disgusting pale yellow, i used . "Dark Blonde D" by L'oreal excellence. I picked this color because it is the same... (read more)

I have messed around with my hair more times than I care to mention and have had many disasters. This time I was left with brassy orange hair which I was to scared to colour any more because of the condition and half inch dirty blonde roots. Anyway as usual, couldn't bear it any longer and tried L'oreal excellence creme in natural baby blonde. I was very nervous, and did a strand test and checked every ten minutes. Well after 30 mins of apply all over at once ( as for untreated hair) it has... (read more)

I wish I had read the reviews here before using this product because I see other people have had the same experience with the blonde shades as myself... It's been a long winter and my normally light brown/mousy hair became very dull from lack of sun, so I decided to dye my hair and get rid of the ashy tone that had set in. I checked out LOreal Excellence Creme on their website and it claimed to give 100% coverage and conditioning too. I picked the dark beige blonde 7.31, which is just one... (read more)

I have often wasted several pounds in salons and have left without having the exact colour I want. So I have experimented a bit using home hair colours. Yesterday, I used Excellence Creme for the first time and I was exceptionally pleased with the result. I will definately use it again and I do not hesitate to recommend it. My hair is in fabulous condition and the colour is lovely. It is a good quality product and worth the price - if only I had used it years ago! I used number 6... (read more)

I have naturally dark blonde hair and have always wanted to be blonder. In the past I used to use L’oreal creme excellence 'Lightest Ash Blonde' which worked well, slightly coppery but nothing that couldnt be remedied by a decent toner, but it is very blonde. I recently decided I wanted to be a medium ash blonde so let my hair grow out to its natural colour and went back to boots where there is an offer of 2 for £10 on l'oreal creme excellence so decided to buy both 'Medium Ash Blonde'... I loved Golden copper blonde excellence colourant 8.34 and like it appears many other users have used it for years, despite sometimes trying something else, always came back to 8.34. Why does Oreal have to delete such a popular colour - what is the thinking behind it? Like others I agree there is nothing remotely near it in any range of products. I have just had to try another product, hardly similar to 8.34, it is wet on my head now and I am dreading the result. Please Oreal bring it back.... (read more)

I absolutely agree with what the other reviewers have said about L'Oreal deleting Copper Golden Blonde from their list. I have been using it for more years than I care to remember and love(d)it. Their decision would have more palatable had they replaced it with something similar. Message to other ex-users - please say if you have found a good product in that colour range. (read more)

I have used L'Oreal Excellence Creme numbers 8 and 10 alternatively for 13 years. No 8 covered my grey and and slightly darker and No 10 lightened and gave the appearance of highlights. I've used L'oreal Excellence for over 20 years. I've been using the Dark Blonde for several years, and haven't had a problem. It covers well, the pre-treatment serum is great. Odor is low. The pre-colour protective treatment clogs your hair up like custard, and makes it very hard to apply the actual colourant easily, as after putting the protective treatment on you can no longer get a comb through your hair. Also, within 2 weeks my grey was showing through again. I only wash my hair every other day so there's no excuse!

LOreal Excellence Cream - I have been using hair bleaches and colourings for over 50 years, and have never had my hair go red like this. I think that the time (30 mins) for development is too short, meaning that the bleaching element only gets to the 'orange' state instead of the blonde.
I also noticed that the little sprinkling of grey hairs I have are still clearly visible.
