Good Points: Getting out of the apartments.

Bad Points: Everything from being noisy to the stench in the bathroom.

General comments: I do not recommend these apartments, I did not get any rest at all. I will be writing to Thomson as regards to the comments the rep made and also the staff shortage at the apartments.
We went for a deserved rest and got not rest at all, we have come home knackered.
We paid £1,112.000 for a week self catering. The same holiday for next year would be £1,001.30. There's a hotel further up called the silver sands for b & b it's £1,096 believe me it's worth the £95.00 difference, it's a gorgeous hotel and lovely pool. In my opinion, there's no way the Alva is a three star.
We didn't even go in the pool at the Alva, to be honest it was not filled up to the water mark and we only saw the pool being cleaned once. The grouting had turned black.
They way that these apartments are designed is ridiculous. If you have already booked, I don't recommend going in the pool view rooms, it was an absolute nightmare for me, I got no rest at all. The apartments are in two blocks which are opposite each other. Any noise no matter how slight stay contained within in this design.
I was up between 7:15 and 8:30 believe me. The pool guy comes along at 7:30 in the morning to arrange the sun beds from the day before. Strange, anywhere that we have stayed before do the clearing is done on the day when everyone has moved away from the pool. It doesn't help when all the sun beds are metal, they resembled hospital beds, and were scraped along the concrete pool area, screeching noise and if that didn't wake us up the maid did at 8:30, even when we put a do not disturb sign on the door. The beds were placed next to each other so the maid came along and separated the beds makes them and then places the beds back together, screeching along the floor.
On Tuesday morning we were woken up by the bar girl playing music at 7:20 am it was an absolute nightmare. If you're a couple who want a well earned break, I do not recommend going here.
We purchased the air con which is £3.00 per day, 20 euros to hire the remote for it and 10 euros to hire the hair dryer, all refundable on the last day.

The Alva is situated in a fantastic location close to all amenities. They are clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly. Went half board for one week and the food was excellent and the service was very good. Enjoyed the Alva very much we would definitely go again. We couldn't fault it at all.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Alva Apartments, it was the best holiday we have had. The apartments are very spacious and also very clean. We chose the half board basis and we were not disappointed at all with food, you would have to be a really fussy eater to pick fault. The location of the Alva is second to none with the lovely Fig Tree Bay virtually on your doorstep and right in the heart of all the lovely bars, restaurants and shops. Overall, I would recommend this holiday to anyone ...

As soon as we got to the Alva Apartments in Protaras, the staff were very polite towards me and my family. There wasn't much during the night, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The weather was amazing, and the holiday overall was amazing. It is the best holiday I have ever been on. I will go again!

The Alva Apartments is a pleasant and friendly hotel, just 2 minutes from Fig Tree Bay. It offers good sized studios and apartments, which are clean and tidy.

There are childrens entertainments available in the form of a pool table, arcade machines and a playroom for smaller children.

The evening entertainment was a little lacklustre, which included a singer. However, the entertainment available in other bars was more of a draw anyway.

I found this a very nice place to stay and would n ...
