How an earth they can say a DAY out! we had done everything within 3 hours and been on every ride! Even the kids was board of the rides, they only have one roller-coaster and a half wannabe coaster. the rides was new in 2006, but they have the same rides every year! Nothing new besides the odd thing! They charge too much considering by 2012 standards they have no true white knuckle rides just an old roller-coaster bought from a holiday park back in 1986 and stupid little rides that are slow... We visited the theme park and paid £18 per person. there were 7 paying guest in our party so a total we had 2 3- for 2 tickets so all in all we paid £108. The park is advertised as a brilliant family day out but we struggled to fill 3 hours. The rides are old, many of them didn't work and those that did were a dissapointment. Some also still had the stickers from other theme parks (flamingo land )on them. Health and safety did not seem to be a priority as there were a lot of sharp edges... (read more)

Park Health and safety is a little to be desired. My wife had her hand trapped in the safety equipment on a ride called the oblitorator. The ride attendant pushed the apparatus in to positon to secure it.
1st aid took ten mins to arrive at the scene "on foot" with nothing but a radio to hand. I told him and the ride attendant that this was very poor, to which the 1st aider and ride attenant replied what do you know mate!!
I ask the 1st aider did the caller over the radio tell you that a...

Just to let everyone know this park has now reopened. Apparently the closure was due to delays in a takeover by new owners. See report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/humber/8645522.stm

Pleasure Island is a nice little theme park in a very nice area. It has seven good white knuckle rides that I enjoy very much. It is smaller than most parks and in a way that is good. It has many family and children rides. It has audio music on Hyperblaster and Mini Mine Train which is very effective. (read more)

Pleasure Island is possibly one of the most underated theme parks in England, but one with a lot of potential. It needs a big injection of cash to update and revitalise the place, but whether it will get that is debatable, I would say unlikely having seen it decline over the years.
I remember going on the first day it opened and the place was heaving, now it looks neglected and unloved, except for the couple of purpose built rides that look startlingly new on the landscape...

The park is reasonable, but really could do with TLC and some better attention from it's owner. It could work on theming as well, not to mention the amount of rides worth talking about. It has what, two rollercoasters? And both are off the shelf, one a miserable Vekoma mini mine train (Which strangely was treated to some custom audio!)
Potential is there, but work is needed.

I know some of the rides are good ie the Pengulus others are rubbish and this theme park is themed towards children.
[The Oblivator is a 360Degree ride that goes upside down as well.]
when you first go on the oblivator you have a head rest thing then a metal bar is locked in front of you and then another one is locked in front of you so you do not fall out. when the ride starts off you start buy going 360 degrees around and eventually you are lifted into the air then it goes upside down ,...

I loved Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes. Very good presentation and liked the style, the Aladdin kind of theme. The rides were fun and exciting and thrilling and it's good for all the family. Liked the monorail although it could be a bit longer. Pleasure island is a good day out for anyone and I would certainly come again.
Good service and excellent manners to people and great entertainment good for children especially.

Fantastic rides there, fun and exciting and love the way it is set out.. Good entertainment, good for the kids and its a good day out for everyone. The bad things were I saw a bit of rubbish on the ground and need more space then the rides could expand. Bigger field spaces is what it needs a lovely picnic area because a beautiful place needs something like this. Good rides and a enjoyable day out for all the family (read more)

This park had some good relaxing rides and also had good facilities for food and drink. The Park also had many toilets for guests. I think it had too many big rides, was out dated and needed up-dating as some of the rides were rusty and needed a repaint. Overall this park is good value for money and you pay for what you get. Just to let you know, all the rides are maintained well and repainted every season... There are not too many big rides... If you are to count there are 7 altogether and the rest are family rides or kiddies rides... I agree with the comment about the food and drink, they are expensive. Pleasure Island i can guarentee is better than any other theme park for its prices within the UK as places like drayton manor are way to expensive.

Not a bad park, but could be easily improved. Some rides had their own audio, the Mini mine train of which was very well executed and quite funny. Themed areas were well done, with plenty of fun for the children. (read more)

In the park there are different types of rides spread out everywhere now. This wasn't like this last year as the park was a bit of a mess last year and it looked like it had been rushed to be open last year. As you round Pleasure Island you hear music telling you about the different things that the park had to offer. My favourite ride was the Hydromax which was a ride that was new for summer 2006. The park was lovely, clean and well set out. I had read some reviews and was a bit worried, but I didn't need to. I found out the water was very safe to drink, food in restaurant better than I expected lots to do for my daughter and the beach stretched for miles. Really caters for people with cars, it is a big park to get around on foot and a lack of pavements but this is the only points we can think of really. We had a fantastic time, quite good weather and never seen a beach that big!! We... (read more)

i like to go to pleasure island i go all the time whilst it is open and i do get a trill out of the adrenaline from the rides they have there. the only bad point is that the food is often not cooked or not check if it is cooked by the propper regs. other than that
You've got to go you'll have the time of your life.

As you go round the park you will find you enter different countries. They are Morocco, Africa, Spain, Kiddies Kingdom, Old England and White Knuckle Valley. Some rides have height restrictions that are for your health and safety. Around the park you will hear lots of music that will tell you a lot of information about the park like the web site which is www.pleasure-island.co.uk. You can see the park rides from quite far back.
Thanks for reading this comment.

The park needs to be built on more land to get more rides and roller-coasters, they are in need of some good tunes on there, like on the bumper cars, get rid of those voices and turn the music up.

You have to travel miles from the main beach to get to Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes if you're walking! It was very very cold there too, even this time of year. The people working there were not polite at all, and they seemed to just want to take our money. The kids were bored after 30 minutes and wanted to come home. Not good at all! (read more)

Me and my partner decided to travel to Cleethorpes Pleasure Island theme park in September, as we came across it on the website. We liked the fact that the car parking was free, and there was only one entrance fee to pay for all the rides for the whole day. Although we were a little disappointed that the Condor ride was not running that day due to the winds being a little strong, plus the dodgems were too slow, we had a great day; plus there were hardly any queues, which was a bonus. Pleasure Island Family Theme Park is Cleethorpes' main tourist attraction. Unlike some fairgrounds and pleasure parks where the visitor pays per ride, Pleasure Island's entrance fee covers all of the rides for as many times as you want. You won't spend hours queuing either. Although the Park does get busy at peak season, it is rare to queue more than 20 minutes at any popular ride. There are live shows and rides to suit all ages and tastes.
The Park was built in 1993 on the site of the old...
