“SunAirline or Sun Country bus company???”

My daughter booked a flight for me from Fort Myers Fl. to Eau Claire Wisconsin at least 2 months before I was to fly out. We made travel arrangements for days she was off as to accommodate her picking me up and my return trip. I received a call from the airlines stating I needed to change my departure date because they didn’t have a flight out on the day I purchased. This was a month after the ticket was purchased. Not happy about losing a day I planned to spend with my family. My daughter paid for my choice seats. After arriving in Minneapolis I checked my connecting boarding pass only to find out I had no gate number so after a ten minute search I found somebody that worked for the airline only to find out that the last leg of my trip wasn’t a flight but a 2 hour bus ride to my final destination. Not once was I or my daughter told this. They did the same thing to my son coming from Denver On our return, my son and I went to the Eau Claire airport as did about 12 others only to find out we all had a 2 hour bus ride back to Minneapolis where we then would stand in line for 45 minutes to go thru security. Finally was able to get home but NEVER again will I fly this airline. Had my daughter know I would be stranded in Minneapolis waiting to take a bus she would have come to get me even though she paid for me to fly into her home town

“FLIGHT CANCEL IN CANCUN-WHAT TO EXPECT”

our departure was 1:45 pm and actual time was 2:45 on a saturday. We were aborted on take off and had to deplane for aircraft problem. We were not told that the flight had been cancelled until 6:45. Also, we found out the flight crew had run out of flight time at 5:30 that day. We were not returning to dallas this day. We were not informed of any of this. No representive all this time was ever available to ask questions about what was happening until about 7:30 that day. Sun country then gave us a $25 voucher for each person for dinner whlie they made arrangement for the night. The $25 voucher sucks because the cancun airport is very exspensive, two pieces of pizza was $21. They finally found hotels for about two hundred people (that is a guess) about 11:30. We had to retrieve our luggage and board the buses. After arrival and check in we were in bed about 12:45am sunday. We left the hotel at 7:30 am sunady. It took over two hours and a half hours to check back in and to go through customs. Sunday is the most busy day of the week in cancun. Then we found out our crew left on a esrlier flight back to their home base. Sun country had to fly in a new crew. We were supposted to leave at 11:10 sunday morning. We did not leave for dallas until 2:45 pm. my question is, why we were not informed of what was happening all those hours and they should have been working on hotels beginning at 5:30. This is the identical thing that has happened to us for third time flying sun country. Each time sun country said they would improve. Did not happen.

“Overpriced Armature Airline”

“Great flight to Vegas and back”

My Husband and I don't fly much, but we flew to Vegas for our son's wedding. We flew May 12th and returned May 17th our flight was great and the crew were AWESOME! I would definitely recommend flying Sun Country.

“Horrible service especially for military families”

I am a military spouse. Due to my husband's extended deployment I needed to cancel an airline ticket. I was told that cancellations are not possible even with the letter I had been issued by the command and that I could "change" my flight date and put my flight on hold for up to a year. Now that I have attempted to change my flight I find that I cannot retain a credit for the difference in the cost of the two flights (even though the new flight is nearly $100 less), but that I also need to pay a $75 change fee out of pocket that cannot come out of the difference in ticket costs. According to their customer service the following is there change policy for military members taken from their customer service email: "Sun Country Airlines does offer cancellations with refunds for passengers and immediate family traveling on the same reservation, who present orders for deployment to the Middle East." Horrible customer service experience. I will not be flying this company again.

“SUN COUNTRY is NOT SPECIAL NEEDS FRIENDLY”

After the flight was grounded for over an hour due to maintenance issues, a three year old little boy with AUTISM stood up in his seat... His entire family was kicked off the flight for his"disruption." I feel that it is important for all to know that SUN COUNTRY is NOT SPECIAL NEEDS FRIENDLY. Flight 472 Anchorage to Minneapolis as well as horrible customer service from a lady with the badge number 87348. “Terrible customer service w no solutions”

Off to Disney and super excited yet get a last minute call of a 5 hr delay in the flight. This messes up our ride to the airport, prevents us from meeting up with and helping my elderly parents who are vacationing w us, cost us half a day at Disney, and destroys the dinner reservations we had w the jamboree (#1 thing my son wanted to do). Of course it is a weekend so no customer service people work and Sun Country doesn't enable their reservation staff to offer any solutions w finding a new flight. Worst was the reservation manager who was incredibly rude. For a small airline one would think they would try to have better service and find solutions and not act like yet another soulless major airline. Why not actually have people working - even on a wknd- that can fix the problem? They aren't worth flying with again

“BEST airlines Friendly staff”

Getting my mother to the airport this am was a bit tricky, didn't realize that it had snowed in the night took over 90 mn to drive to the airport, ran 30mn later then expected. Did the curb side check in, they did say that the plane was closed for luggage BUT she would do her best to get it on the flight, but couldn't guarantee it would make it on the plane. Most Likely would need to go back and pick it up. But my mother needed to hurry to get on the plane it was now 6:35 the plane was to take off at 7:10 the lady at the curbside check in was NOT rude at all but told my mother to hurry, and she would do her best to get her luggage on the plane. Well my mother made it to Ca without a problem, not only that BUT her luggage was also there. The only sad thing is I had a 20 dollar tip for the lady and in the rush I forgot to give it to her! The lady at the curbside check in with long blond hair, from Mn thank you thank you thank you!!! 3-4-20012 Mn to Cali 7:10 am flight

“Sun Country Down Hill”

I have been a loyal customer of Sun Country for more than 20 years. In the last few months the service has gone downhill. I have been trying to get information on a flight that my grandson was supposed to get on tonight from New York to Minneapolis. He called me and told me he was a least an hour late. I looked up on the internet and Sun Country said it was leaving on time. My grandson called me an hour after the departure time. I have been on the phone to try and get information and have been on hold for 45 minutes. Listening to Johnny Cash. I am so sorry that Sun Country, my home town airline cannot take care of it's home town people. I hope that my grandson is still not in New York.

“absolutely NO SOP concerning air travel requirements...”

Looking for a way to get to Seattle to help my daughter deliver while her husband is out to sea. Called Sun Country- asked about required SOP for bringing a 15lb dog with me. Was told that I could not have a layover in Mn longer than 4.5 hours because they don't allow an animal to wait any longer than 5 hours for a layover. Fine. I got the dimensions for the underseat carrier from the girl I was speaking to.(completely different than those posted on their website!) Went ahead and made the reservations with a 2 1/2 hour layover in Mn. When I called the Airlines again to make payment for the dog I was told that I would NOT BE ALLOWED TO REBOARD because 2 1/2 hours between flight was NOT LONG EDNOUGH TO TAKE THE DOG POTTY!! I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP! No I cannot get my money back as the AIRLINES says That because I used Cheapo Air and not them to book there is NO REFUND ALLOWED. I will NEVER tell anyone anything but what a crappy customer relations department SUN COUNTRY AIR HAS!

“DOES ANYONE EVEN WORK FOR THIS AIRLINE?!”

My daughter and I started the nightmare at LAX waiting at an EMPTY ticket counter, the sign said it would open three hours before the flight but the crew waltz in and hour later then the sign would indicate. Then we were informed of a four hour fog delay, not the airlines fault but again nobody at the check in counter at all. Does this airline have only like three employees in the entire company and like three planes??? Then when the two young counter help show up they care more about setting up the line holders and signs then giving updates!! Then we have to change gates, moving from the sub zero gate down the long hallway just what I wanted to do!! We of course miss our connecting flight with Sun country and because they seem to have only what four planes my daughter and I have to wait a day in a half for the next flight to Boston!!! Oh they give so some lame excuse that you can call this 1-800 number to get your money back then have to book with another airline. Things all other airlines do!!! I asked the attendent about this and she says "sir we are a very small airline we do not have the connections with the other airlines!!! "WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Never again will I fly Sun Country !!!!!!!!

“Baggage Extortion”

We were caught in the Sun Country's baggage extortion this last week at Minneapolis, Saint Paul. We sat with everyone for over an hour before boarding time waiting for the gate to open. The THREE gate personnel stood there with nothing to do, making no announcements or cautions regarding carry-ons. When they started boarding, after first class, they seemingly randomly stopped several people, my wife and I included, to measure their bag with their measuring bin. I thought the bin looked small and SURPRISE, none of the bags they checked fit in the bin. Everyone whose bag was measured stated it was a bag that had fit on several flights before this one with no problems, at all, ever. Our bag had fit fine on over 20 flights, including overseas twice, and on the flight 4 days before INTO Minneapolis. There was no time to deal with this issue since everyone behind was waiting to board. As I mentioned the measuring bin appeared small. I measured the measuring bin and then the overhead when we boarded. I measured a carry-on that fit in the overhead bin and it was 4 inches bigger than the measuring bin. At our destination I counted 31 carry-on bags in the carousel. Oh, by the way, each bag AT THE GATE was $25. They made a handy extra $775 from their extortion. BEWARE the "just before you board" bag extortion.

“Extra Fees, Late flights”

This spring, I absolutely had the worst-ever experience with Sun Country! Flew once with them to DC, had an hour and a half wait on a runway in Lansing which was hot, muggy and enormously uncomfortable. Then, not so much as an "I'm sorry" or "Here, have a bag of chips for your troubles." But then, three weeks later I fly again to Phoenix and guess what? I'm hit with a startling $100 in baggage fees because my 14-inch carry-ons I took just 20 days earlier are no longer considered carry-ons by Sun Country. (These carry-ons are easily carried on at every other airline with whom I fly). Also, I was charged $30 for requesting two of my seat assignments online. Then, you guessed it, another $80 to get my family's carry-ons back home again! I saved myself $20 by prepaying for my carry-ons online. I did not request seats online. If I had, that would have been yet another $10 or $15 per seat depending on what I chose. Nice. So, $210 later... If my air fare has been really cheap, I could perhaps justify some of these fees, but my tickets were nothing special. I felt completely gouged on top of really mediocre service. I am so very, very angry. Sun Country used to be my go-to airline, but I will NEVER, EVER fly with this airline again.

“Not dependable”

1st experience with Sun Country you just think its the cheapest until you get to the counter and they want to charge baggage fees for international flight. Most airlines allow one free bag for international flights. Then to top it off the flight has been delayed over 1 1/2 hours and still waiting. In the meantime American Airlines has taken off on time. With so few flights you would think that Sun Country could be timely!

“absolute horrible treatment ”

After an awful flight from start to finish was assaulted by customer service. Have no clue how to treat customers. Just wanted what I already paid for. Nothing extra. Heir of complete entitlement. Will never fly sc airlines again period. The one star was for attendant who kept apologizing for the flight and level of service. Very rude and entitled. Just awful. Never again!

“Don't trust Sun Country Seat Selection on Orbitz/Expedia”

I booked our flights well in advance on Orbitz or Expedia and I selected great seats. There was no indication that there were additional fees for seats or if you don't pay somehow you don't really have them. I happened to get a call from Sun Country to let me know that there was a change in the departure gate and I saw on the email confirmation that we did not have assigned seats. I went online and got them. It cost $25/flight so I could sit with my two children. I don't know what would have happened if we showed up at the airport expecting seats and not having them. It was good that Sun Country called about the change in departure and sent a confirming email. I appreciate budget airlines so the price per seat wasn't a huge deal although I wish I had known before for a better comparison of options. The biggest issues is it was just dumb luck that I learned we didn't have confirmed seats. If we couldn't have been together it would have been a disaster.

We showed up at the airport for a 2:50 flight to find out the flight had been rescheduled for 5:50. At almost 5:30 on the board was listed the time of 6:50. There were 3 agents at the desk and noone would tell any of us what was going on. The plane finally got there at 7:00 and we were told we would board in the next 15 minutes. After an hour and a half we were finally able to board. Instead of getting into Cancun at 4:30 in the afternoon we got in at 12:30 am. I will NEVER fly this airline again!!!!
