My daughter and I started the nightmare at LAX waiting at an EMPTY ticket counter, the sign said it would open three hours before the flight but the crew waltz in and hour later then the sign would indicate. Then we were informed of a four hour fog delay, not the airlines fault but again nobody at the check in counter at all. Does this airline have only like three employees in the entire company and like three planes??? Then when the two young counter help show up they care more about... (read more)

We were caught in the Sun Country's baggage extortion this last week at Minneapolis, Saint Paul. We sat with everyone for over an hour before boarding time waiting for the gate to open. The THREE gate personnel stood there with nothing to do, making no announcements or cautions regarding carry-ons. When they started boarding, after first class, they seemingly randomly stopped several people, my wife and I included, to measure their bag with their measuring bin. I thought the bin looked... This spring, I absolutely had the worst-ever experience with Sun Country! Flew once with them to DC, had an hour and a half wait on a runway in Lansing which was hot, muggy and enormously uncomfortable. Then, not so much as an "I'm sorry" or "Here, have a bag of chips for your troubles." But then, three weeks later I fly again to Phoenix and guess what? I'm hit with a startling $100 in baggage fees because my 14-inch carry-ons I took just 20 days earlier are no longer considered carry-ons... (read more)

1st experience with Sun Country you just think its the cheapest until you get to the counter and they want to charge baggage fees for international flight. Most airlines allow one free bag for international flights. Then to top it off the flight has been delayed over 1 1/2 hours and still waiting. In the meantime American Airlines has taken off on time. With so few flights you would think that Sun Country could be timely! (read more)

After an awful flight from start to finish was assaulted by customer service. Have no clue how to treat customers. Just wanted what I already paid for. Nothing extra. Heir of complete entitlement. Will never fly sc airlines again period. The one star was for attendant who kept apologizing for the flight and level of service. Very rude and entitled. Just awful. Never again! (read more)

I booked our flights well in advance on Orbitz or Expedia and I selected great seats. There was no indication that there were additional fees for seats or if you don't pay somehow you don't really have them. I happened to get a call from Sun Country to let me know that there was a change in the departure gate and I saw on the email confirmation that we did not have assigned seats. I went online and got them. It cost $25/flight so I could sit with my two children. I don't know what... (read more)

We showed up at the airport for a 2:50 flight to find out the flight had been rescheduled for 5:50. At almost 5:30 on the board was listed the time of 6:50. There were 3 agents at the desk and noone would tell any of us what was going on. The plane finally got there at 7:00 and we were told we would board in the next 15 minutes. After an hour and a half we were finally able to board. Instead of getting into Cancun at 4:30 in the afternoon we got in at 12:30 am. I will NEVER fly this... (read more)

What a bunch of whiners on this review board. What do you expect? In today's economy - this airline is trying to survive so you're complaining about cost of food, blankets, ear phones, etc? Try flying the multi billion dollar airlines and see how much you have to fork over with them. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You got your nose out of joint because you had an uncomfortable flight. Big deal. Suck it up! These people aren't your mother, wife, husband or babysitter. If you want that -... (read more)

I found this review not helpful because...it appeared to be written by a Sun Country employee. It was not a review, but a criticism of others' review. It did not give me good feedback on the airline.

I will never fly this airline again....We had booked well in advance on travelocity, and requested seats in the 16th row. When we arrived at the airline, we were given seats in the second to last row of the plane and were told that while we had "requested" those seats, we had not paid $8 each for them, and therefore we did not get the seats. The travelocity site does not ask for money for these seats - they were in no way "premium" seats of any kind. $20 for any checked bag is ridiculous,... (read more)

I'd say there is more good than bad about Sun Country. They offer good prices to popular locations.Really, I encountered just one "bad point". In Minneapolis, Sun Country had customary electronic conveniences. But in Seattle, the checkin options were limited to getting in a serpentine line for Delta who do the agent functions for Sun Country on a contract. Being mixed with a Delta crowd meant the line was way longer than a pure Sun Country line would have been. And Sun Country has no... (read more)

Sun Country Airlines now charge for food in flight (used to serve cheese burgers). Now they charge for checked luggage. Flight attendants were rude. Have been flying this airlines since 2000, but will never fly again. (read more)

I frequently fly with Sun Country the Minneapolis-San Diego route. 10/10 times, they've been very professional and courteous when dealing with me.
1. Always on time
2. Food is served - I know it's just a cheese burger but it's still food!
3. Very nice flight attendants
I'd recommend.

my husband and I booked a flight on Sun Country in January to travel with our two young grandchildren from DFW to Anchorage to visit our son, three days before our departure, they called to say that our return flight has been canceled and that we will have to spend another day in Anchorage or overnight in MN or we can have a full refund, we went ahead and accepted choice number 2. Our flight was to leave DFW with a stop in MN not changing planes, when the flight got to MN we were told that there was a change and the flight was going to Las Vegas and we were to go to another gate to catch our plane for Anchorage, they would transfer our luggage. To make this short when we got to Anchorage my luggage was not on the flight, they did not have a gate agent, after going around we found out that Delta was their agent there and I was given a number to call, I spent ten days in Anchorage and I had to call their corporate office to get some one from baggage claim to return my call. As of today they have not found my luggage, the only explanation I could get from them is that luggage tags comes off quite often and sometimes the luggage is sent to the airline who's hub is that location. August 15 I was sent a check for $544 stating that they don't think they will ever find my luggage. What they don't seem to understand is that no amount of money can replace the valuable that was in my suitcase like a framed newspaper article of my son's highschool football accomplishments or the scrapbook that I made of my grandchildren with pictures that cannot be replaced, also they stress that I went through that put a damper on my vacation because I was limited to where I could go and was not able to go on some of the tours my son had planned for us because I needed heavy clothing since it was still cold. I suggested to them to also give me a ticket so I can return to Alaska to at least visit the glacier tour but they never responded to my letter. Their poor customer service and the way the loss of my luggage was handled has not left a good taste in my mouth. However, I have not given up the hope that one day my suitcase will be found because of it's uniqueness that will cause it to stand out if they list it accurately system wide.

I flew Sun Country for the third time and was still impressed with the service and cost.
The people of Sun Country are very nice and highly professional. The flight was on-time and even the extra's were not overpriced.
For example: The following extra costs.
Headphone for Audio Entertainment
$1 (yours to keep. You can always bring along your own L/R adapter for headphones)
Beer: Miller or Bud $3
Hard Drinks: $5
Travel Pillow and Blanket: $5
About the only negative was in Orlando...

Most delays are not the fault of the airline. Even the worst airline I've flown on never got a 1 let alone a 0.
I think your review should be discarded since it's not objective, void of thought and suspect.

I flew Sun Country airline from Minneapolis-Denver- Laughlin. The flight attendants were very nice. Despite a small delay we had at Minneapolis, the flight was good and on time. You only get half a can of pop, you have to ask for the other half. The flight was very HOT. (read more)
