“Abysmal service until you say you're leaving”

Recently came to the end of a 2 year contract and was offered a new deal over the phone. Went off to do market research, then called back.. to be told that the deal mentioned the previous day doesn't exist. Repeat this process 2 more times, with the offer getting progessively worse. I do not recommend this company at all. I advise everyone to stay away from Tmobile. Not only do they have an abomination of a service, they procrastinate in 'solving' your problem. I completely agree.

I have recently just had a child, moved into my own home (rented accommodation) with my partner. Note- I have not been living in my previous home for, say, nearly a year now.

When I was 19 yo, I regrettably entered a T-Mobile contract that was supposed to last for 2 years. I am now 22 and am still being charged. But I didn't know until I had this company, working through T-Mobile demanding money off me.

I then rang T-Mobile to tell 'this woman' the situation, and she went on to say that I still had to pay all the money from the end of that contract until now and said that it was in the 'terms and conditions'. I told her I did not know this as I have not been living at home, I lost my phone 6-7 months ago (which I rang about a while back to cancel the contract, but was told that I couldn't finish the contract and had to pay until the contract finished and we ended the conversation on that note; I assumed that the contract would automatically finish, as it should). She then DARED to say ' it was your fault then' ... ?!!!? I replied with 'how was it my fault if the guy I spoke to didn't say anything?'
She said, 'you would have gotten letters and texts to tell you'.
I said, 'How would I have got them without a phone, and the fact that I don't even live at that address anymore?'
She said 'Well, it's still your fault'

So as you can gather, she is unprofessional and has no clue about good customer service. I am normally quite a calm person and would not have acted out in this kind of situation but her constantly telling me it was my fault caused me to lose my temper!

Bottom line is, don't get into a contract with them. They will go to every extent to squeeze as much money out of you as humanly possible. Not to mention awful, awful customer service; felt like she was trying to tick me off on purpose.

T-Mobile why is there no option for zero stars? You are money-grabbing, deceptive and all that is wrong with sales .I would never recommend you or EE. The stores are over-populated the by brain-challenged, more interested in talking to other staff members than helping customers. Do not set up reoccurring payments for the so called $5 saving! Unless you have hour's. Of time to make sure they dont steal more money then your bill is monthly. If you have had their letter telling you the price of your contract is going up, search the web for the "Ofcom consultation on mobile phone price increases" (if I post a link - this will be removed) they are due to rule if these are unfair terms.

A ruling is expected in June, then put in a complaint/claim under the terms of the ruling. That is what I am planning to do.

Cut off my phone, took my credit (£15+ - not sure what it was) and refused to give it back. This was for a pay as you go phone. I did not know that they'd changed their cut off time for non-use. This is the only phone I have and I need it as an emergency one but rarely use it. Today, the 25th of Feb,the network of T-Mobile has been crashing constantly. Every 2 min, every single website crashes as the connection of T-Mobile simply ends and not Network can be found. I made the bad choice of taking a full monty contract with them and ever since I started, in Sept, I've had nothing but issues! No one explained there are charges when I don't pay by direct debit and I kept being charged more which at first I didn't realised because the first invoice was over 10 pounds more due to the fact I wanted to keep my number. I figured i needed a cell phone so i kept it. To be fair it worked half the time, half the time it worked it dropped calls. Then after paying their fees i stopped told them i was not going to be extorted for service they did not provide, i stopped charging and turning on the phone.

They do not understand that we their customers need to be treated fairly. When the phone is answered tell them the extension and name of the person that way you do not have to tell the receptionist why you are calling and get shunted to their POOR Customer service. Do not expect a phone call back these people should not be in business

One day I made the mistake of taking out a contract with T-mobile, that decision has plagued me for the last 2 months of 2013. I decided (why!) to take out a contract and defect to Blackberry from Iphone. Place online order and receive a delivery date (with no SMS)...I leave it a few days! Nothing. After 2 years I have finally escaped t-mobile. They are indeed the worst provider I have come across. There website is rubbish, there customer service is rubbish, in fact everything to do with t-mobile leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

They tried to entice me back with a loyalty offer that was worse than any standard offers they had and not comparable to other companies offers.

My advice stay well clear of this amateur outfit. The one thing they outperform and excel on is "taking your money"

UPDATE - Was informed of the refund coming back by the 13th Feb...didn't happen. Phoned up...given the 20th Feb and even promised a phone call, NOTHING!

I phone up today to find out that it has just been manually processed by the 'Finance department' and that it will take 14 days. I terminated my contract on the 21st of Jan and have been given 10th March as the date which I know it wont be. The phone assistant said "Sorry just isn't enough, I can understand your frustration"...of course you can. I asked if there was any note from monday when I called stating he would call me....NO! REALLY, You now lie to your customers.

Your quick enough to take everyones monday but very slow at giving it back.

T-MOBILE, YOU ARE A JOKE! My 14 day deposit has turned into a 8 weeks. Not even funny. Don't even bother calling the call centre, they have no idea whats happening, don't both going into store, they also have no idea whats happening!

I've had NO APOLOGY! STILL OUT OF POCKET.

AVOID.
AVOID.
AVOID.

Don't waste your time and money.

I am in exact same position as you. I had my final bill payment come out last Wednesday. It included a £70 charge for an iphone I returned to them 6 weeks ago. Was promised the money would be returned within 3 days. I phoned again this morning as the money had not been refunded to me and was told that it would take up to 14 days from today. I asked for confirmation of this by email but they couldn't do it for some reason.

I phoned my bank who have refunded the direct debit to my account (cost of iphone and my final bill payment) and will chase t mobile on my behalf. That way you get your money back (within your lifetime) and some help. T mobile can then chase me for the money I owe them.

I find the call centre workers ridiculous. Every time i phone I get a different answer. Horrendous company.

Worst customer service of any organisation ever. Lost letters / failed to process actions / invented contract renewals which they couldn't substantiate. Call centre appalling. Never use. As for Everything Everywhere it would be better described as Nothing Nowhere. (read more)

I have taken my case against T-Mobile to CISAS (in case you guys are wondering, it is an online application and takes 6 weeks for your investigation unlike the banking system. Do it.). I'd normally wait until the END of an investigation, but their handling of my case is unbelievable. I was about to enter hospital for 6 weeks, I have been their customer since 2002, 10 years!! Bought a pre paid usb stick from tesco with three months paid up front it says simply click activate button on landing page. No activate button! call customer service on a 0845 number they say they will look into the problem, half an hour on hold then they just cut me off. A year or so ago I got a £15-a-month deal with t-mobile for my daughter that gave her unlimited texts and a sizable data usage. Talk time was limited but she mainly sent texts. I have just phoned up t-mobile to query my bill, I thought I had picture messages included in my bill and in fact I don't. Just to be clear, I am currently on a SIM15 deal.
