Shortly after I had this steamer the handle came off the lid and the lugs broke on one of the baskets. I phoned Tefal, they were sorry and sent a new lid and basket with no charge (still under guarantee). However the handle came off the second lid very quickly. I have glued it back on pro tem. Then one of the baskets cracked all round the top - threw it out. Now a second basket has cracked down the sides. I still have one left but that is not really enough so have been looking at... Cooks veg really well but the handles on bowls are easily damaged and if you have to replace more than one 15.99each plus post. you're better of buying another one as its cheaper than replacing all three (read more)

Have had this steamer and within first 6 months of use the plastic lid broke. Tefal didin't want anything to do with my complaint. Bought another one that was marked down due to being obsolete, same thing happened and now battling to find my receipt as I've only had this one for 6 months.. Surely they know they are not made to be able to perform as they say and they can fix the problem with the lid and lugs or stop makling them... (read more)

we have only had this steamer since xmas 2008 it does the job of cooking very well which is what we expected for a tefal product. The let down are the poor quality of the plastic baskets which apart from the number 3 one have cracked and broken the steamer is used nearly every day.I would buy another tefal steamer but only if the plastic baskets are of a better quality. Unfortunately my lid broke ages ago on my tefal 616119 steam cuisine, have been trying to use without it and burning hands - now tried to look for a spare part and can't get hold of one - what a waste of money - don't want to keep adding to the waste sites, but looks like I'm going to have to and buy another one! If anyone can advise where I can find a lid, please post it here! Thanks. (read more)

i could not believe how fast the Tefal 616119 Steam Cuisine 3 Tie could spuds and how good the tasts. but don,t use it in the slightest brezze when cooking a turkey or big choock, that slows it down heaps.my wife works nights so i come home from work and prep spuds through in sausys ,or meat pattys or even pork chops ,use the heat gun to brown on the plate afterwords, but i have it all done a quick rince after serving and that makes it easily washed. by the time she gets home its all put away... I have been happy with my Tefal 616119 Steam Cuisine 3 Tier except for the fact that basic replacement parts are unobtainable. Fragile plastic basket bases. Lugs broke on two out of three only after a few uses. But where do I get parts? (read more)

Tiers o my Tefal 616119 broke and snapped - lid handle came off within 4 weeks off steaming. No good if you want to steam for more than 3 times a week. Plastic is very fragile, very very disappointing. Cannot purchase any spare parts for this - needed to buy 2 tier trays and a new lid - cannot identify any parts on internet. (read more)

If you don't mind it looking scruffy after a few uses then this is an item that works well. However I'm not happy about the broken lug after only a few uses as the cost of replacing this part is prohibitive. (read more)

I have gone out and bought a Tefal 616119 Steam Cuisine 3 and this is by far the best I have used since buying my other steamer, this one is dearer but is better all round. I have better baskets now than I had on my old steamer. In short if you want a good steamer buy Tefal but be very careful on which model you choose. (read more)

I have had the same problem with the basket and the lid shattering and splitting. I can't locate any spare parts for this machine.
