Like I said, the guy above ain't got a clue. He's used the wrong burning technique with his DVD burner, on Nero 6 If one clicks on the Video or Movie Function and burns content to a DVD-R disk then The Sony DVP-NS355 will play them. Good Quality, Chic Design, slim and looks like a more expensive piece of kit than the price would suggest. Plays MP3's, Kodak Picture Cd's, plays jpeg files and VCD and SVD's too. Great Player. High Connectivity, Fast Search, Easy to use menu. GREAT
Would you recommend to a friend - I bought him one for his birthday - he loves it.

The Sony DVP-NS355 has been a disappointment! As name brands go, Sony is up there at the top, but this lower end of the market machine disappoints! The zoom feature is sub standard, and the inability to play DVD-R is unbelievable!!
I would recommend that you shop around and find out as much as you can before you buy! I wish I had!

The person that left the last comment was must be mad - I can play DVD-R discs in mine but he's probably used the ISO Function on his DVD RW on his PC rather than the MOVIE or VIDEO settings to record a video to a DVD-R. I have one, and they are robust, slim, stylish, sound great and give a decent picture quality.

Yeah - the guy who said this doesn't play DVD-R is incorrect and need to learn how to burn DVDs!!

I have one and it's great as a transport. Built in memory and rom. Plays all formats well worth the money if you can get your hands on a clean one.
