Do not waste your money on this vacume, stops picking up pet hairs very soon after i purchased it, did contact dyson but to no avail, you spend more time trying to sort out why it will not pick up, rather that doing any cleaning with it. DO NOT BUY ONE.

After the Dyson DC08 Animal I am never buying another dyson again , buying a Henry know this is value for money and works and virtually indestructible. The cable rewind next to useless after 6months. The telescopic arm not a great idea badly designed bulky takes several attempts to make it lock. Altogether poor product NOT good value for money.

I have loved my Dyson DC08 Animal and haven't had any mechanical failures. It is bulky though and I don't think I'd buy another. Mine cost £200 at the time I bought it brand new, probably back then it was worth the money but I would not spend that again on a Dyson. Overall, great vac but bad design.

I own a Dyson DC08 Animal with telescopic handle and i find it easy to use, it cleans well and easy to maintain. It is rather noisy though.

Suction on my Dyson DC08 is just okay. Replacing after less than a year - not because it's broken, but I can't put up with it any longer. Would not compare it with a previous Dyson. Will never buy dyson again.

Reading other reviews of the Dyson DC08 Animal I am relieved to see it's not just me that thinks it's useless! I have a dog and it only picks up the very loosest hair, grinding the rest into the carpet. I end up having to wash the filter, empty it, and clean out the turbo brush after virtually every use otherwise it just doesn't pick anything up. The turbo brush looks very impressive and is great when it is just cleaned, and works for about one use. After that the hair it picks up just gets w ...

This Dyson is a waste of my money and energy. It is heavy to carry and very hard to use. Mine has also stopped picking up all dog hair and fluff with the turbo attachment so I have to vac with the smaller attachments making it very difficult and tiring.

Really disappointed with the Dyson DC08 Animal. Poor suction and doesn't pick up hair so it takes twice as long to clean the house now. It's a good example of good marketing for a bad product. Wish I'd never bought it!

We've had this model since it was first released and we've been quite impressed with it.
It's cumbersome when being carried but is very maneuverable when towing it around the floor. Considering it is supposed to be a design masterpiece the mechanism for holding the vacuum head onto the machine when not in use is terrible - the slightest knock and it just falls off. Another stupid design is the tool holder that resides on the hose. It gets in the way and was soon ditched.
    The special head atta ...

The Dyson DC 08 cost 450 euros here in Ireland. I would probebly have been better off buying two or three cheaper vacumes. Prior to this machine I owned a Nilfisk GS 90. It was 10 years old and had been refurbished, it took a few passes to clean, but it never failed to do so.

The Dyson DC08 Animal is over priced, no suction and clumsy. In my opinion don't buy this.

Poor value for money. I had a £50 Panasonic before this which I gave to my Mum having proudly purchased a £200 Dyson. Today I asked for my old one back.

My third Dyson, never again. Bought a Numatic George GVE 370-2, kit included a pet hair turbo brush that REALLY WORKS! This thing is superb, an extraction cleaner, wet and dry and dry vacuum in one box for only £179, cleans the car, the house, the shed... Anything! check out the internet for a better price if you can.

This is our second Dyson. The first provided valuable service but was rather flimsy and failed after 5 years extensive use. The new Dyson, looks very different. It is stylish and well constructed in a way that the DC05 just wasn't. Additionally, it provides the same strong suction, revealing dirt in the pile that many other cleaners fail to manage.

However, that is not to say that it has no faults. Its very heavy, and awkward design faults make ease of use problematic. For example, why do yo ...

I have been really disappointed with this Dyson DCO8 Animal. I bought it after lots of research but have found it to be poor quality - the main vacuum head does not collect hair and I spent a year cleaning carpets with a stair head piece, which unsurprisingly has now broken. Customer service was unhelpful as they only wanted to sell me further parts.

This vacuum cleaner has been designed by men for men. James Dyson's technology cannot be faulted. When new, these machines are superb, look stylish (OK that's a question of taste), and it really does provide excellent suction, and the Dyson DC08 Animal vacuum cleaner is excellent for sucking up animal hair. But you must read the instructions (e.g. fail to pull the cord out beyond the red mark and the machine electrics will cut out). Note that it has great suction, but it is almost impossible to ...

The Dyson DC08 TW Animal vacuum cleaner is made to look like the best cylinder Dyson you can get in the shops. It always seems to have the most advertisements around it, and usually has quite a lot of special offers on it too. The features upon examination seem exceptional - wrapping for storage, turbine and mini-turbine head for exceptional cleaning, lifetime filters (including HEPA); it looked amazing! So a foolish £299 was spent.

Assembling the cleaner was easy. We didn't bother wrap ...
