We stayed during the week of the disruption of the Iceland volcano. The hotel receptionists were the most unhelpful people I have ever met! We ended up doing our bookings over the internet as they would only let us book things on a day-to-day basis and wouldn't go out of their way with regards to faxing or emailing anything.
On the other hand the Animation Team there were absoluately fabulous. I went the to adult club everyday where activities included rifle shooting, archery, french...

We went for christmas, enertainment was non exsist after 10pm, the evening restraunt was running alive with cats, meals are served from different areas so if you wanted say salad with your meat you had in effect two seperated areas to go. Breakfast and lunch were in the main restraunt and the fod was much more enjoyable at these times. The staff at Los Zocas did their very best and we have no conplaints about the hard and long hours they work to try and keep the quests happy. Maybe the... (read more)

WE have just returned from a weeks holiday, 2 adults, a 16 year old and a 15 year old. We all had a fantastic time. We went all inclusive and the food was great. Yes it can be a bit repetative but there is always something for everyone. Food is available from 7.30 am - 11.30pm. Both of the teenagers loved it, loads to for them. We didn't see them from the morning until the evening.
We had some great walks in the evening. Can't comment on the kids clubs but the teenagers had plenty to...

we were a party of 7 4 adults 2teenagers 1 t 9 year old .our Los Zocos accommodation was named cell block h its was very tatty .as was the surfaces around the pools . no seating in the evenings outside the food was excellant after being in a 4 star at the costa del sol last year with lovely sunbeds that had cushions and were not broken will not do a 3 star again as that star makes a difference . these places need an area where teenagers can be together and chill (read more)

Very basic hotel, food very repetitive with no entertainment, no food available from 6-7 pm, long ques due to a card system allowing 1 per customer every 5 mins!To many better all inclusive hotels to return.
Los Zocos staff friendly and complex clean but total dis-organisation with entertainment.
1 bar for all 326 rooms with 3 staff serving, spoke to many holiday makers and all seem to be unhappy and would not be returning!

We stayed for 2 weeks (May 28th to the 12th June 2008). We were looking forward to it so much. Our son (who is 4) couldn't wait to take part in the kids club and make some friends, and me and my partner were looking forward to a stress free, and cheap holiday (as we went all inclusive we presumed we wouldn't have to pay for food, drinks, etc
But this was not the case. I don't even want to describe any more how bad I thought this hotel was. It was one of the worst if not THE worst hotel we...

We did enjoy our holiday at Los Zocos. The weather was warm though the wind made it feel cooler than it was (don't forget suncream).
We only saw 5 cockroaches and that was on the last couple of days
There's not loads to do around the resort but perfect for a relaxing holiday. Beware of the electrical shops around the hotel as once they pull you in you can't get out (it happened to us i've never been so scared in all my life). If it sounds too good to be true it will be!!
If I was to go back...

My family and I have been to Los Zocos 3 times now and each time has been really enjoyable. This is a great place for kids but can be a bit boring for adults especially at night. We won't be going back again but its well worth a visit.
Also there is alot of building/refurbishment work being carried out to Block 1 so not as quiet as normal.

I would never ever go to the Los Zocos Hotel in Lanzarote again. The staff were unhelpful. I was robbed of my holiday money and no one seemed to care!
The reps were fantastic, and they were the only reason I stayed. Very down to earth and helpful.
I was very disappointed with this hotel.

After a shaky start, our holiday at Los Zocos in Lanzarote, overall was fantastic! With the beach just across the road, that's where we spent most of our time. We were placed in a brand new apartment, and we could not fault it one bit. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they spoke good English, although it doesn't harm you to learn a little Spanish before you go away!! The shops and bars nearby are excellent, and the kids loved the bungee trampolines! A special mention goes to the... (read more)

Have stayed at Los Zocos some 4-5 times since 2001, after repeated comments, some updating has started, note I would not stay here again till this is completed! It does in no way represent the many brochure photos and the last tour operator that I had the misfortune to holiday with have since withdrawn all its room photos, yet they still sell this to the unsuspecting public as a 3* plus hotel (not in this standard of accomedation!). I had the misfortune to be robbed whilst out of my room (my... (read more)

Staff at Los Zocos in Lanzarote are friendly but not very helpful. Rooms are in need of major refurbishment. Rooms have a 1980's feel. No brush or mop available.
Some loose tiles around pool, which is dangerous for kids.
Overall, if the complex was brought up-to-date I would stay again, but not until then.

We were a bit cautious following reviews. Stayed in Los Zocos block 2 and yes block 3 is much better in standard of rooms. Block 1 was being refurbished. The room was fine but it needs to be updated ie lounge furniture was scruffy and the kitchen units needs replacing. Bathroom was lovely though. Bit of pain with the pushchair as there are no lifts. Our 22 month old loved the facilities. We were s/c so didn't really see the bars and restuarants but the food did look nice. Not sure if I would... (read more)

Just got back from Los Zocos and had a brilliant week. I was a bit worried before going after reading some reviews, but can honestly say it was the best holiday ever!
The apartment was in block 3 and very clean. The cleaners came in every other day and changed bedding and towels. All staff at the complex were really friendly, and the animation team were great. They worked so hard.
The food was excellent with a great variety at all meal times.
A nice selection of drinks, but could do with...

I would go to Los Zocos again. The only thing which could of been better would be the entertainment after the mini disco finished, but the animation team worked hard during the day especially Claire.
I would also say to beware of how hot the weather is.
I burnt my shoulders , mouth and head and I had a high factor lotion on, even when it was breezy.

Costa Teguise, Los Zocos - Accomodation very poor, fridge not working, decor grubby, rusty bath/shower hanging off.
Very very noisy, every night all we could hear was people going up the stairs, doors slamming, arguing/shouting/being sick! This went on untill 4 am.
Stayed by the quiter pool all day to try and get sleep. Ate out all the time so can't comment on food.
would never never never never return!

Just returned from Los Zocos on our first ever family holiday. Was fantastic. The apartment was very clean, the pools were wonderful, if a little cold at first, but always clean. There was lots to do for children. Massive football pitch so son was very happy. The animation team mithered adults all the time would not take no for an answer. There was lots of work going on to improve the looks of the hotel. Drains stunk. Maids were useless, very dirty apartment. Never cleaned the balcony once. Very cheeky cats kept on finding them on the beds. Entertainment at night boring very Butlins but kids loved it. I agree I could not find the heated swimming pool either. ... (read more)

I have Just returned from a 2 week stay at Los Zocos Complex. It is very big and has 2 pool areas, but it is still very hard to get a sunbed as everyone hogs them by reserving them with a towel! The pool bar is ok but food a bit iffy! We only ate there a couple of times as the resort has tons of excellent restaurants, our favourite was "la Pardella" just up from the beach on the other side of resort about 10 min walk along the seafront, very nice people at this restaurant and the menu is... Just returned from 2 weeks at the los Zocus and had a brilliant time. We were in block 2, old but clean.
The sports activities during the day were great, variety of sports, not all for men, and the animation team really get every one involved. First choice club for the kids was good, but the hotel animation team also run a kids club (which you don't get told about at the welcome meeting) that you don't have to pay for.
The food was excellent. Breakfast - cereals, bacon, eggs, sausages...

We were sold Los Zocos on an All Inclusive basis with the understanding that there were lots for our children (11 & 13) to do - and activities for adults.
Activities for the kids are good - but the shooting and archery for adults would have been better had there been more than one rifle and bow!
If you haven't got little kids then steer clear - unless you want to go off site and pay for your entertainment (and beer)
If you have kids then great - the main bar is open and entertains the kids...

Costa Teguise, Los Zocos - We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Los Zocos, and we was not impressed at all. You cannot fault the First Choice Kids Club, they were brilliant with the children. The Los Zocos is not up to standard for an all-inclusive hotel, the food was not up to standard, the food for the children was chips all the time and no variety. One of the swimming pools was supposed to be heated and we were still looking on day 14 for it. I would not recommend this hotel to... (read more)
