Good Points: Beatiful building, stunning lakeside location, surrounded by mountains, good access to Sca Fell and the Pikes

Bad Points: Bit of a walk to the pub (take a torch!)

General comments: Wasdale Hall Youth Hostel is a very beautiful and comfortable half timbered 19th century country house. The front lawn is the lakeside of Wast Water, a very deep and cold lake - a great spot to do a little swimming in the morning to wake yourself before heading for the hills!

It is a good spot for walking Sca Fell (England's highest mountain) and the Pikes.

The nearest pubs are a 20 minute walk (if you dont have a designated driver!) but well worth it!

If you want a peaceful walking holiday in wonderful remote countryside this is the place for you!
