Have owned a Venom Viper twin mag with a 3-9x50 scope for 5 years and was impressed no recoil. It's quiet and so well balanced and light, perfect.............well kind of. If you want the most out of your viper fit a silencer the rabbits don't know what's happening you'll have a 50% kill rate. The end baffles I didn't like, too much space for the round to move that's why I made my own solid baffle on my lathe, as long as you make it out of aluminum and not steel it'll do well and it... On first getting the Webley Venom Viper the only problems I had were the facts that the built in silencer wasn't quite up to scratch. Neither was the scope but now it's been rezerowed it's fine but still haven't sorted out silencer. It is a wonderful gun to shoot due its fantastic weight and it is better than the Webley Raider I would say my friend Charlie has a Raider and I'm always the first to kill the rabbits and squirrels. Webley Venom Viper: A stated before, the in-build sound moderator is not too silent and too loud for hunting. I found a farmer with a crow problem and he's given me permission to take full advantage of the situation, but first I needed to make the Viper quiet, so contacted Webley customer shop. Glad I did. From them I purchased the required adaptor and their VBB14 1/2 UNF silencer. This is not small (8.5" L x 1.125" OD) and weighs a bit but whow! Talk about silent, what gun going off. What... Well, the Webley Venom Viperhaving, I tightened the screw up solid that secures the barrel shroud and barrel at the front, my first shot was 2" to the right. Re-zero'd and was almost put pellet on pellet at 25m. Swore a few times when I got home as found some of the screws on the scope clamps had loosened. Rats... have to do it all again next week. I'll get there. Just goes to show, check everything!!!! Need to get this right as have aquired permission to shoot crows on a farm. (read more)

Purchased my Webley Venom Viper Air Rifle April 1st (not a good idea), found it quite brilliant as my first PCP. Wasn't concerned about the slightly inefficient moderator as i'm using it in an indoor range where people shoot full bore rifles. I first used my cheap 4x32 scope and found from week to week the 10 shot group had moved sideways by 1/2" or more. Blamed it on the pellets and tried all different types, then I blamed it on the scope as PX is set for 32yds and I'm firing at 25m so went... (read more)

This Webley Venom Viper Air Rifle is insane. I've had this gun for a cuople of years now and I wouldn't buy any other gun. This gun can drive a tack easily up to 50 yards. Having the .22 cal makes it all the better too. It hits insanely hard. If you want a gun that is accurate and kill almost anything... this is the way to go. I bought some 31 grain pellets with it, that were supposeivly capable of shooting through 3 metal trash cans, and believe me they can. The first time I tried the... (read more)

The Webley Venom Viper is a very light full power rifle which is well constructed. Brought off my brother, fitted Logun Silencer now whisper quiet. Accupell pellets work well. Shooting out to 30 meters at one inch groups with simmons 3-9x40 scope fitted. In short proper pigeon killer! (read more)

I bought the Webley Venom Viper rifle this morning from a local air rifle supplier.
I was using at the time a B4 underlever rifle, .22 (with rear sight, no scope)...
I bought this rifle with a scope for £300
I instantly took the rifle up to my friends families farm to test out the rifle and zero the scope. I was instantly impressed by every feature; the light weight makes it easier to aim whilst standing, the twin shot makes it a lot better for zeroing in, saves having to move about a lot...

I have been looking for a Pre-charged rifle for some time, that is Cost effective (not cheap!...), suitable for hunting as well as target shooting (back garden stuff...). I came across the Venom Viper as I was checking out the spec of the Raider 2, as soon as I saw it, I had to get one, so I searched the web and the mags, found that uttings.com are selling them for £323.95, new, so having a decent scope on my XS B20 2.2, I ordered myself one. When it came, I fitted and zeroed the scope and... (read more)

hi I agree with your review, but what do you mean by 8-10 cycles, I have 2 say I wish mine was that easy, but then maybe you didn't run it down as much as me, I have written a review but since then I have discovered that it is not a good idea to run it to lower than 50 bar, because pellets may get stuck in the barrel, as happened to me, when I removed them all (a 2 hour operation) I found I had 6 pellets jammed down, obviously not doing any good to the barrel. Please could you post a comment if you find a silencer that fits, because I agree it could do with another silencer.

The 8 - 10 cycles, I mentioned was for the first full charge with the stirrup pump, since then I have discovered that it takes a whole lot more!!!
What I have done to try and combat the concern you have had with the pellets getting stuck is to use a tally counter, to keep a check on how many shots have been fired from a full charge (the recommended is around 80 full power shots for the .22), I don't know what pellets you are using, I have been using SMK Spitfires, cheap but good stopping power, reading your review, I will limit this to around 60 and see how it goes.
In addition to my original review, I must add that when I went out after writing the review, 10 mins. into the sortie came squirrel #1, a further 10 mins. came #2 (a distance of 40 - 45 yards) and within a total of 1 hour and a half came woodpigeon #1..........
What a result, three kills in an hour and a half.
I have bought some Webley Venom Lazapell, but not yet had chance to try them out, this will be a job for the weekend.......

Hi guys,
just read your comments on the Venom Viper and yes what a lovely rifle to use, light-weight, accurate and sensibly priced though I would like to see a regulated version as pellets can sometimes stray but I guess this all adds to the cost.
I use a logun silencer on my rifle and this is the most silent I have heard or have yet to use (in it's price range), i've been around air rifles for over twenty five years and have seen the immense and diverse changes that have given us all today the vast choices we have to make to secure the air rifle of perhaps our dreams, and of the problems that occasionally go with them, but I guess progress brings with it, it's problems?
I hope the info on the silencer helps, be safe and enjoy the many challenging foray's ahead.

Back again, I now have a Webley BBMF Silencer for my Viper, it's the 8 1/2" version and it looks the dogs danglies when fitted. Not to mention it is almost silent when fired, so far the only concern that I have found with this silencer is that after fitting to the rifle, it started to send the pellets off in different directions; i.e., the left chamber would stray up to the left (10 to 11 o'clock) and the right chamber would stray down to the right (4 to 5 o'clock). After doing a little bit of puzzling and head scratching, I decided to check the diameter of the holes in the baffles, (in Webley BBMF silencer) they were 8.0mm or there about. I then checked the screwed stop end from the end of the barrel shroud, off the Viper, it was 9.00mm.

With this in mind I decided to strip the silencer and drill out the individual baffles, clean and re assemble it all. After doing all this I tried it out and it was dropping pellet on pellet again.

Total cost around £40 including p + p (from two separate suppliers)

Having tried it out in the field, I must admit I am over the moon with it more so than before.

PS. post back for where to get adaptor and Silencer.........

Happy hunting

Thanks to every one concerning the info on silencers. Just to say, since getting the gun I have shot 13 rabbits with it, all but 2 headshots and one was a 50 yarder. This is a brilliant hunting rifle. I hope everyone else gets similar results. On the subject of pellets, I use webly lazadomes and find them brilliant but a tad expensive, so I use eley wasps, which in my opinion are the best in the cheaper pellet range (£4.50 of the Friday market) but when I tried the .177s for my weirauch they were awful, sometimes they would just fall down the barrel, others you would have to force in, after about 10 pellets this does your thumb and the barrel no good.

After getting my dad to drive all the way up to pontefract, from stoke!! I was glad that that I did. The Webley Venom Viper was a year old, but in mint condition. I paid £260 for the rifle and a 3-9 by 40 simmons scope, with mounts.
Which is brilliant as new this would of cost around £410!! Unfortunatley the scope was a bit tatty and after a week the zoom ring locked up, but simmons are replacing it with a brand new one. So now it has my Tasco Varmint 2.5-19 by 42pa on it which is from my...

I purchsed this Webley Venom Viper Air Rifle second hand from Allsports of Gloucester. I paid £408 for gun, silencer (and adaptor, bag and 300 bar bottle.
When I first held it I thought the weight was well balanced, nice and light, well manufactured and didn't have a mark on it so I purchased it.
After I got home and had a few shots I was even more impressed. The gun handled superbly and was very acurate at about 15 metres after zeroing it in (Only got relativley short garden).
As for...

If you are having power problems it'll be a gasket, as I had the same problem with mine take it to your nearest gun shop and they'll do it for around £30, after that I fell back in love with my rifle. I must say that the viper venom is the best air rifle I've ever shot. I mean if you can't get your target with 2 shots put the rifle down and walk away!!! I've got my rifle zeroed @ 35 yards and that'll do well for about 60 shots. It does help if you've got a good scope 9x50 will do well.
