I bought a 3-piece suite from Harveys, and it went faulty within 11 months. They refused to honour their obligations under the warranty, and I took them to small claims under the legal grounds that the sofa was not fit for its intended purpose, it had a shorter life than could be reasonably expected, and their refusal to address the warranty issue. I was awarded a default decree as Harveys did not even bother to fight it. When I wrote to Steinhoff Retail UK Ltd (the company which owns Harveys) asking for payment, they filed a notice to ask the court to set aside the decree - however the court did give me an opportunity to object to their notice. On the court date, they sent a guy over, and we were able to agree that if Harveys gave a full refund including court costs, I would agree that the decree be set aside. Harveys will wriggle to avoid their obligations, but when they are wrong legally, they will back down. Good luck

Has anyone had a problem with the bartley suite from Harveys ie the colour being different shade? We have 2 /2 seater settees and they are in Beijing mink but one sofa is definitely lighter than the other.

Good luck with this, would suggest you get hold of CAB just in case, they're are truly a terrible company to buy from, really wish I'd seen this forum before I went anywhere near them. There is also believe it or now a "Furniture ombudsmen" - didn't do anything for us but you never know!

Has anyone had the glass unexpectedly shatter on the Noir dining room table? Mine has shattered without anyone being near it.

sorry to say this but as you'll find, there doesn't seem to be anything that doesn't fall under Harveys "wear and tear" get out clause, one of the worse, untrustworthy company's we've ever used, never, ever again! Good luck and stand your ground, they'll lie their Hearts to avoid paying you what you're owed!

Why is it when the delivery men who took my two 3 seater settees in to my home on the 4/9/2014 and notice both settees had been damaged they took a photo of both damaged settees and supposed to reported it back to Harveys. Like fools we trusted them, when I phoned their Customer care service two days after delivery they said they have no information about it, I have phoned again today 11/9/2014, they said again they have no details of me even phoning on the 4/9/2014, I would like to know what game they are playing by not keeping records? What should I do next? We will not buy from Harveys again if this is not sorted.

Hello I'm afraid your'e in for a long ride took me months to get my money back and offending suite removed even trading standards were involved but harveys completely ignored them in the end I sent an email giving them 48 hours to respond and remove my suite and reinburse my money back failure to do so would result in court action and press involved it worked but I was banging my head up a brick wall for a long time. The cudtomer service directot was very helpful but he has now left the company. All I can suggest is that you keep on and on to them till you get the result you want hope this helps regards

Unfortunately it seems harveys are not what they used to be...in my experience anyway. Nearly all the delivery men were polish or similar. They couldnt wait to get away and kept telling me they had lots of deliveries to get through, to make me feel guilty about having my table assembled...which was included in the price i paid! A second delivery was a struggle for one of the two that came. Even though my setee came in three separate ssections, one of the guys kept dropping it. My front door and meter boxes are a right mess, covered in black marks that wont come off, due to scraping it through, even though i told them they could go through the rear french doors if they wanted. Its a wonder that my setee wasnt damaged to be quite honest. I went back to harveys after a good experience 10 years ago. UnfoUnfortunately, i will look elsewhere in future

Why do Harvey's advise customers buying a light coloured fabric sette that it will suffer dye transfer from clothes which will never come out? Our sette looked terrible after a very short time. We were told that it was because we had been sitting on it!

Hi there. This companies after sales service is terrible. I know so many people who have had issues with their sofas. We ordered a sofa and when it was delivered the two end cushions on the 3 seater were clearly flat lower than the middle one. They looked used. When we contacted Harvey's they sent one if their so called 'Experts' round. All he said was its because we have been sitting on the end cushions. Unbelievable as we had only had it a week. These experts Are just sent to tell you anything to try and put you off escalating your complaint. They are given training in the Harvey's head office on what to say to customers. I had to threaten legal action to get anything done. Keep escalating a sofa should look shabby after a short period of time.

Our sofa was damaged when it was "repaired" the outcome was they didn't care! Phone calls after phone calls to be told "they wouldn't help as it was wear and tear" how they got to that outcome is unbelievable the sofa was 8weeks old now 12 months on the sofa is ready for the tip!!! £1200 not well spent!

Our dining table started chipping and got faded patches on it after only a year. Harvey's didn't want to know; just said it was not their fault. It wasn't a cheap dining table and I'm still very cross about it. We'll never buy anything from them again and would always advise anyone else not to either.
