I ordered and paid for a suite in April from the Stirling store I was advised at the time it would take 13 weeks which I accepted, the delivery was on time but when delivered I noticed a scrape on the front of the sofa there was also paint chipped at the side of my front door and a chip off my wallpaper, I reported to the call centre and was advised a new sofa would be ordered but it would take another 13 weeks I was offered compensation for the damage to my property which I accepted, the second delivery of my sofa was arranged again on time it was the same delivery drivers and low and behold after bringing in the sofa there was a chip out of the leather at the side of the sofa, although I can't confirm it was the delivery drivers I don't believe that a damaged sofa would be sent from the warehouse, I again spoke to the call centre and told them I had no confidence and wanted a full refund, meantime I had contacted the Stirling store to advise them of the hassle I had and the person I dealt with who had sold me the suite originally managed to source a new sofa and she could get it delivered within 3 Weeks as I was not prepared to wait another 13 weeks, although I wasn't confident I agreed, the sofa was delivered by local carriers on 9th November undamaged so after all these months I now have a perfect suite, I would like to say everyone I spoke to were very helpful and very professional and I had no problem with any of the staff, The person I dealt with was very helpful and should be commended for her customer service, I think the company should be looking at the delivery drivers as in my opinion they should be more careful when making deliveries.

Bought large leather corner suite initally well pleased, but despite tender loving care, leather is peeling off after 3 years . Bought after negotiation at shop a 5year guarantee that would cover everthing .but advised to get independant survey at my cost to prove manufacturing defect, as insurance does not cover this .problem now is upholsters willnot do this due to possible time spent on possible court case and loss of money in the past.back to harveys , not interested . Since found out may be leather bonded not actual leather, more wiser and will ask this question in the future but not at harveys

We recently purchased 2 three seater sofa's from Harveys. The ordering in the shop was very time consuming as their computers were down at the time. The sofa's finally arrived after around 3 months. The delivery guys were very helpful and took care when bringing them into the house. Unfortunately the following day we noticed that 1 of the sofa's had a small tare in the leather. We rang customer services and someone came a week later to make the repair which was done to an excellent standard. Despite the frustrations we would use Harveys again.

I originally reviewed this company in November 2015 after having considerable problems getting a table, 4 dining chairs and a sideboard delivered, the original order having been placed in early August 2015. Today everything has been completed to our satisfaction! Patience rewarded! But I would just say that ever since the Media Team got involved things have at least moved along. But in view of our problems we would still think twice before going back to Harveys for further items.

A big thank you to the team at the Basingstoke branch for sorting out the chair dilemma, it was much appreciated.

We have been looking for a new settee for two years, after many visits to various shops we have tried Harveys at Christmas time. The minute we sat down on the Senator settee, we absolutely loved it, it was so comfortable. We have ordered a Senator two and three settee electric recliner. It arrived after so many weeks as agreed in the store, I was extremely excited and the delivery was on time, all seemed to be OK. Unfortunately the moment we sat down on it, it felt like sitting in a bucket. We absolutely hated it and couldn’t get comfortable, there were so many things wrong with it that I don’t even know where to start. I was devastated as the settee was quite expensive. There was a big gap between the bottom seat and the back cushions and anyway we tried to get comfortable it was just getting worse. My other half got such a bad back from it to the point that he went to the doctors to get some painkillers. Anyhow, we have decided to go to the store and sit on the settee we really liked, it was completely different to ours, it was a lot lower and the cushions were supportive and nicely filled up. After the visit we have rung the insurance company and they have sent out an independent engineer who said that the settee was faulty and a wrong foam was used. We got an option of getting the same settee or choosing a new one. we didn’t want to risk another disappointment so we went to a shops (we drove to Harlow as the store is bigger than the Chelmsford one) and chose a different sofa. We had to pay extra as this one was more expensive (i would of thought that for the inconvenience, phone calls, driving back and from to the shop and sitting on the wrong settee for months, we would have some sort of discount – well - NO .. we got nothing) after another 5-6 weeks we have finally got our new sofa. Again delivered on time! which is the only positive thing in this story. The staff in Chelmsford store is not very helpful especially one gentleman who was almost rude when insisting that the Senator is their most popular settee and he can’t believe that its faulty (in my eyes that’s accusing us of lying?) he completely ignored me when I asked him questions and only talked to my partner, he was very unhelpful and most answers were can’t do! So we got another chap from the store who was a lot better and more helpful. But I would never go back to the shop in Chelmer Village again. All in all, a lot of hassle, many phone calls, 3 days off to accommodate deliveries BUT there is a nice settee (Lullabye) waiting for me when i get home. I hope it lasts otherwise i'm calling the insurance company again. Could definitely do better but i think that some reviews are too harsh.

I bought a Mellissa 2, 3 seater sofa & a single chair from Harveys in march 2011, after a few teething problems with my chair e.g. the metal frame was bent causing one side of the chair to catch the carpet when reclining, then some marks appeared on the back rest, the guy whom came said it was because it had not got any laquer on it, since then areas of the chair have worn and faded, I think they dip the leather, looks like it did not work correctly. Also the sofa is starting to do the same thing. Not very good for £1800 I thought I was buying a quality product for that money and that was in the sale!!! I will give Harveys credit though, when I called them I was told It would be replaced the chair and sofa, from what I found out it seems they have had a few issues with the paint process. I am very pleased with Harveys response, I do like the chair it is very comfortable. I was told it would be 12 weeks before it arrives, just hope the slow boat from China don't sink! Regards

We bought a modestly priced 3 seater settee, which was delivered well within the agreed window by polite and friendly guys. Sadly, one of the arms collapsed completely after 6 weeks. Their aftersales maintenance and repairs company visited exactly as arranged, inspected the settee and arranged a convenient appointment to return to carry out repair. This again was carried out exactly as arranged, the settee was repaired to a much higher specification than as supplied by a friendly and helpful technician who even showed me how poorly it had been originally manufactured (staples in the wood but missed the board that they were meant to be attaching completely). So I guess we got more or less what we deserved with a fairly inexpensive piece of furniture, but the aftersales service from all concerned was 100%. So I'm giving 3 stars because I would have said 2 star settee with 5 star service = 3.5 really!

Ordered sofa in Belfast Boucher Road, was told delivery time 12/14 weeks so okay, sofa arrives into their warehouse and guess what 3 weeks to deliver. Totally unacceptable when your told as they take your money once in stock delivery within 7 days. Great after sales service not! Was going to order my dining room furniture, will be placing my order else where. In fairness to the manager she did say she would try to get sooner date although guess what response time to emails is 72 hours. Will keep you posted! These guys need to get there after sales service / deliveries sorted or at the vey least don't miss sell information to customer.

I previously wrote a review about my Sphere chaise as the seat was sagging after 3 weeks. After complaining and having it inspected by Castelan, who said that it was just normal settlement, I complained again as I was not satisfied with their findings. Today I had another inspection by another company called Eco.... something, who said there wasn't enough filling in the seat and therefore added more. I am now satisfied, my chaise looks fine. I must say I found the staff at Harveys in Stevenage extremely helpful and very polite throughout, an asset to the company.

I ordered the Melissa 2 & 3 seater and the storage box on 25/12/12 online, I was advised it was an approx 11 weeks delivery from 7/1/13, I emailed Harvey's 11 weeks later to be told it would be up to 14 weeks, I waited till after the 14 week time scale and I emailed them again, to be told that my delivery was due in there distribution centre on 6/5/13 (bank holiday Monday) which was 17 weeks from 7/1/13, I checked online on 9/5/13 and my order has finally gone into there distribution centre on that date, I rang customer service on 11/5/13 and was advised I would have to ring there distribution centre to arrange delivery, I rang there distribution centre and agreed on a delivery date of 22/5/13, lets hope the wait is worth the while because if there is anything wrong with the delivery I will be straight on the phone to complain and trading standards will also be informed.

We bought a senator corner suite in the end of year sale and after waiting, and waiting was finally (almost) delivered today - 4 months later!! The suite is delivered in sections and the men were clearly in a rush. After half heatedly trying with the first corner section to get through the kitchen door decided 'it's way too big, it won't get in there - no way'. I was sure if they tilted it slightly in a different way it would go, but what did I know. I heard one of them mumbling something about not having time. They said they are always returning these suites because of the size which they offered to do with mine. I asked them to bring in the rest of the sofa, which they did without trouble and left the corner section unattached in the hallway. I phoned my husband, he popped home from work and, using our logic, we tilted the corner section and got it through the door and attached it ourselves with absolutely no effort! What made me laugh was that when the delivery men left one of them said 'it's not going through that door, it's not like we didn't try'!! I don't think this is an unusual experience so my advice would be - dont accept an initial 'it's not going in', let them at least make some effort to try. They clearly run to a tight time schedule but that is not the customers problem!

Ditto Harveys are not very good. I have not received a sale person call for satisfaction. My corner sofa has missing feet and I cannot be told when they will be here. The qualitfy of workmanship is poor, There is a thread knot in the centre of one of the sitting cushion. The footstool has a chip taken out. Since delivery a week later after promised. i.e. 22nd Feb. I have rung sent emails. The first email address given was incorrect. Found the correct one only to be told today that they have not received an email from me. So sent again this evening. Customer Service, sorrly they do not know the meaning of the word. I am fuming and I have asked for a full refund

I fell in love with my red sofa and arm chair, they were perfect in my first home. Until I shifted my weight (I'm not a heffer!). The support under the arm broke through, the crunch sound almost made me cry, it was less than 48hrs after delivery. Then I read all the reviews here-I geared myself up for a battle. Thankfully the independent technician recorded the sofa, and by then arm chair as faulty. Only one arm seemed to be supported. Harveys offered me repair, replacement, and after my request a refund. After reading all the reviews I'd read up on my consumer rights, but needed no fight. The team on the phone were always polite. We planned a convenient collection date, but when I realised my new sofa from a different shop might take 9weeks I requested we arrange a collection to coincide with that delivery date-harveys agreed! My new sofa took only 3weeks, and both stores were able to deliver and collect on the same day-result! So sadly I had to lose out on a beautiful sofa, but I couldn't guarantee it would last a year. It was a manufacturing fault-so not entirely Harveys fault, but they put their name to it. The customer service team, Carly in collections and technician were all great. The battle I predicted after reading all the reviews never happened, but I was left having to go elsewhere for my dream sofa. Sammy Whitstable

The rating is really base on the after sales rather than the product. We bought the Strata Dining Table and chairs with one bench. We saw this table in-store and it was exactly what we wanted. Its quite pricey but we thought we’d go for it anyway, well built and all. We ended up going for a Finance option and bought it on-line as Harvey’s had 10% off sale. The table arrived and all was well… however I noticed that the finish of the wood was very matt looking, whilst the showroom piece in-store was more lacquered finish. So I called customer service, who sent out an engineer. The engineer however didn’t seem to have a clue – he looked at the table, took a few pictures and then off he went. That was 3 weeks ago – have I heard back from Harveys? No. Oh by the way – I still haven’t received my care kit – which I have been chasing for 6 weeks, every week I call, I am told it should be with me soon. I’ve taken a 3 years warranty on the table and chairs, I hope I don’t live to regret it!

When initially purchasing the sofa from the Nottingham castle marina store, my experience was very poor. It was boxing day and so I realise that it was very busy but the hovering salesman wasn't very forthcoming at helping us. We had already told him that we wanted to buy the sofa but as the statement was left without a response we had to ask if it was him that we spoke to about sorting our sale or if we had to go to the cashiers desk. This was then followed by salesman not asking us what colour we would like it in and making a presumption on the order form. Luckily the presumption was correct and did not require us to return to the store. Thus, we were quite concerned when our estimated delivery time of 10 weeks came and we had heard nothing. I called the helpline and it could not find our order number which concerned me further. However, on emailing customer services the response was very quick and informative. It would have been much better though to have been told before this point that it would be longer than the initial 10 weeks, so as to manage my expectations, but the date given by customer services was accurate and they were very polite. At the opposite end of the scale, the delivery team were absolutely fantastic. We were informed in a timely manner that there was a 2 hour delay on the timeslot, but they still managed to turn up within the allotted time. They also rang 10 minutes before arriving and upon arrival set it up efficiently and made absolutely no mess. The difference in the quality of service between sales and delivery is shocking. I hope that our experience at the sales end was an unfortunate one off, but I will be leaving this review on the Internet for others to take into account when purchasing from yourselves. Overall I am happy with the product and my final experience with Harvey's delivery team made up for the initial poor service, but I will think twice before purchasing from yourselves again.

We were after dining chairs to go with the table my late mother in law had left us and went to harvey because of the sale they had on. i thought a lot of the dining chairs looked the same but my wife seemed to like them so we go 4 leather chairs. altho not to my taste, I can't deny that they are remarkably sound and well made, i think they're going to last us for many years.

ordered a 3 seater and 2 seater sofa. was told us we could have on a 2 year interest free contract, which was great as money is very tight. after correcting the total price for the sales assistant (she was 80 quid out, and didnt seem to have a clue what she was doing) we signed the contracts, once finallly adding up the costs, delivery, insurance for her. we retured 3 days later to set up the finance and were told no one in store was able to set this up, only the lady who sold us the sofas. apparently she was a 'pro' at finance?! they told us the nxt time she was working so we had to go back another time! went back a few days later and she seemed to think anyone in store could have set tha finance up 4 us and also to be told that she had made a mistake (suprise suprise!) and we couldnt have it on a 2 year interest free contract but only a 1 year contract. she had got it wrong!? so now contracts were already signed we could not cancel or have our deposit back, even though this was, again, her mistake. delivery men then called to say we needed to pay in full before they would deliver! they had no information on who was monthly paying and who was paying in full, time wasting! sofas due tomorrow........... hopefully the sofas will be more pleasent then the customer sevice that was recieved on trying to get them

I bought a coffee table in the autumn sale and to be fair got a great price for it. It said it would get to me in 6 weeks, but this turned into a lot longer. It was very frustrating being kept waiting, but once I got the table, I was so pleased with it. The customer service people did keep me informed whilst I was waiting so that at least appeased me. The delivery guys were great, we had a bit of banter and they were helpful. They ensured I checked the table thoroughly before they left to make sure I was happy with it's condition, which I was. I love the finish of it and was certainly happy with the price in the sale too. I will use Harveys again when I next need some furniture.

We spent quite a bit of time looking for the right sofa for our home and our needs and the Jupiter one seemed to tick all the boxes for us. The leather and leather match felt very good quality and perfect to wipe clean when the dog jumps all over it. The price was great as we didn't have lots to spend but wanted to spend enough so we wouldn't have to buy another sofa in a year's time. We were told a delivery date which matched the estimated delivery time, yet we got a call closer to the date saying it wouldn't be there on time. It was really frustrating, but the guy was apologetic and honest, so we accepted the new date he told us. This time, we got a call the day before to double check we were ready for the delivery and the next day, there it was. They were careful moving the sofa in and helped move the old ones out the way for us. Apart from it not being on time, it was only a couple of weeks late, so w're really happy with it.

I took delivery of my items on 22/5/13, I was texed the day before with a delivery time between 8am-11am, on the morning of the 22/5/13 the delivery man rang me to advise that they would be with me by 10.45am, the two delivery men that delivered my items were from Warrington and I really couldn't fault these guys infact they were a credit to Harvey's, they brought my items through my back door and they even asked where I wanted the items putting, they un packed the items outside and carefully brought them in my house, I didn't have to lift a finger, these guys did everything, they even took the packaging away with them so all in all I had a good experience with Harvey's and would buy from them again
