    Hello
We bought our new house in june 09 and as you would expect some new furniture from harveys at a cost of £1966.00. We have had many problems firstly with the dining table having a dent\ scratch on the top surface. The sideboard we bought to match, the doors would not line up correctly(they sent servico round to realign them)
This has been rectified but took many phone calls to customer services within around 6-8weeks which we were not pleased with. The main problem and the most annoying is that the bedroom furniture(prague-maple/cream glass) which includes two bedside cabinets one being damaged on top and the 6drawer chest(should have been delivered assembled ,wasnt and when we put it together, the top 2 drawers do not fit either.
Does this sound familiar? Customer services are refusing to co-operate saying we should of checked the items within 3 days. The bedside tables should have been unpacked by the delivery men also if the chest was delivered assembled the men would have unpacked this and checked it too.
We will be contacting trading standards and possibly watchdog!!! I dont think i will be shopping at harveys again !!!!

Ordered a table on Monday and asked to cancel on Wednesday (because delivery date couldn't be guaranteed). They were very reluctant to let me cancel at all (left standing in the store ignored for quite a while)but finally did so with a charge of 20%, ie over £100. Having been told that the table would take weeks to arrive, I fail to see how those costs could have been incurred in the space of less than 48 hours.
Extremely unheipful manager who abdicated any responsibilty, denied having any ...

We bought two sofas from Harveys in October 2008, the delivery guys unpacked these and placed them where we stated. After several months we decided to move the sofas to clean underneath and to our horror we found our beautiful original wooden flooring was very badly scratched, on further inspection we noted staples had been left in the feet of the sofas and this was the cause of the scratches. I called the local store and they gave me the relevant phone numbers to call, it took quite a few day ...

I feel i need to put my experience forward as i am bewildered as to how there are so many complaints. And i need to thank all these people ... for having me worry unnecessarily.

I ordered a sofa (Brando 3 str) on 29 Aug 09, paid by credit card and was given an approx time scale for delivery. After reading all the bad reviews online i was beginning to worry and at the end of september i rang the store and enquired after my order. Was given an approx date in November. The second time i phoned mid ...

The whole experience with Harveys is beyond 'disgusting'. Staff are not properly trained and the after sales support is beyond apalling and is extremely unethical. We bought products from Furniture Village and several other stores but we have never been through a more gruesome experience.

Harveys' staff are very unethical and rude,a nd it all filter down form the management.

NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM HARVEYS, YOU WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT!!!

Decided to go to Harvey's as we needed a new dining room suite,"WHAT A MISTAKE" All was well when we ordered the suite we were told eight weeks which wasn't a problem. We were given a date and when we hadn't heard from them decided to ring, then we were given another date two weeks later. When the furniture eventually arrived two chairs were missing and one was faulty, we were told that would be reported and we would be contacted. After three phone calls and an hour and 20 minutes on the phone to ...

I will never ever buy from this company again and I will tell everyone I know not to buy there either. They delivered a damaged sofa. When checked by their 'engineer' he told us it needs a major repair as front and back frames are broken. Sofa is gradually collapsing. After several days off and phone calls to different people they have decided to repair it don't know when this will take more phone calls to sort out. We have asked for a replacement as is our right under trading standards they ref ...

Well, in fairness this all happened a couple of years ago, we took my 80 year old mother into Harveys at Silverlink, North Shields to buy a new dining suite inc Glass display dresser, dining table with 4 chairs and 2 carvers.

I won't go into great detail as being awhile ago, I would not wish to try to be specific after so long. Cost was in the region of £2700
After being ordered and paid for in full, after 8 weeks they arrived, 1 carver missing, 1 chair damaged, Table centre leaf missing, ...

very poor services from Harvey's furniture store, 8 weeks for wardrobes to arrive when they did they were all damaged, spent 3/4 hour trying to get through to them to be told we will have to wait another 4 weeks for the damaged parts to be replaced, I wish I had listened to friends who have in the past made purchases from Harvey's and warned me not too buy from them, I wont be using them again.harvey's need to adresss thier delivery policy if I had been told how long it would take and what would ...

I must admit I didn't read any reviews until after I placed my order. After reading through pages of reviews I felt very uneasy about my purchase however I must say they rang me last week to confirm delivery today (Saturday) and requested the balance to be paid at least 3 working days before. I duly rang my local store and paid for the purchase. They told me to ring them 24 hours before expected delivery and they would tell me the proposed time slot. However, I received a text message from them ...

After 4 months of phone calls registered letters and emails Harveys are getting a solicitors letter from me.
Keep away from this company as all they do is pass the buck from one person to another...
Never again, not if I had to sleep on the ground would I buy anything from them

    DO NOT USE HARVEYS!!!

I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy. I cannot stress how bad harveys are!!

I was very pleased with the service I received at the Lakeside store on 06.04.09 so I ordered a 3 seater sofa and chair. I paid in full and waited a while for these items (which wasn't a problem) and was excited to receive a call to arrange delivery for 13.06.09. I even received a text the day prior to confirm delivery between 8-11AM, which I thought was fantastic organisation. ...

After ordering a sofa and chair ('Castillo' range)from Harveys online on 30 August 2009, I read several negative reviews of the store and its customer service. I began to worry that I may have made a mistake with my purchase. However my worries were unfounded when only two weeks after the purchase date the store called to advise that they would be delivering on the 12 October, approximately 6 weeks total waiting time. When I realised that the 12 October would not be convenient for me I called Ha ...

About a week ago, we ordered a set of oak furniture for the living room from Harveys Furniture. Yesterday, realizing that the order was incorrect - we wanted a plasma tv unit instead of the corner tv unit (identically) priced, we asked to change the order. We were told that (1 week into a 12 week order) this was impossible - against their rules. We offered to pay any reasonable surcharge - still impossible, against their rules, we asked why they couldn't contact their factory to ammend the or ...

Received my order damaged. Rang Harveys and was given a number to ring as this department did not deal with damaged goods. Rang the new number given and was told to ring the orginal number. This went on for an hour between the two numbers. Talk about fobbed off. I only got a response when I asked for Head office address to start legal action. I was told that someone would ring me but again I had to ring them and was promised a call today which hasn't happened. I am now going to start a cla ...
