After watching last night's episode, with Jenine threatening to persue residency *smugly* of the daughter she abandoned, for a round the world trip... and a special featured session of the little girl's father in a solicitor's office, being advised it would be an up-hill struggle to gain residency (in spite of him having been left to raise the little girl by himself) ... I shook my head, and sighed. Yes, in that situation, residency should be considered, but the circumstances being... (read more)

Firstly i am a fan of Eastenders, it is the only soap i watch, BUT I have always had a bit of a thing about the way the characters who are meant to have young children are portrayed. Having watched last nights episode (20/11/2012) with Tanya going to meet her supposed sister at a school at 3pm, i realised just how unrealistic it's getting. Firstly, does Oscar Branning still exist? Being a parent (and i'm sure anyone who sees this and does the school run will agree?) 3pm is very busy at... (read more)

I think the acting by Lola in the episode where she has her baby taken away was 10/10 and she should be commended on it. I have never written a review on east enders before and it was that good that I felt it would be unfair not to say how impressed I was. Is anyone else totally and utterly bored with Ben's bad acting and unconvincing story-line? Please BBC, stop this pain. Having watched every episode since the start, i'm turning it off. Story lines drag on too long (OMG, the Masood's stories go on for ever!) and Ben's recent bad acting and ridiculous storyline (did I mention his bad acting?) is too painful to watch. you have to be kidding, storylines are unbelievable,a 10 year old could do better.Seems to me the scriptwriters have been locked up in a room forever and have never been let out to experience real life and they just go merrily along making instances that just wouldn't happen.I realise it's a soap but come on don't treat the public like idiots. BTW seems all the soaps seem to adopt the same same formula.

Eastenders was compelling viewing, topical storylines, dealt with the bad stuff, good acting, humour, tragedy. But now... parts of it have become boring. Those Moon boys apart from Michael are very very boring. Maybe they were brought in for some eye candy, but thats not enough. We need strong characters and good acting. Maybe its the script writing but ever since Eddie Moon made his appearance the whole thing has gone downhill. The Phil Mitchell storyline I have completely lost interest.... (read more)

I see where you're coming from and to some extent agree with you. It seems like all ethnic minorities want (and desire white partners) to be in relationships outside their race, that is what Eastenders is suggesting. The show also suggests that all young black youth are criminals, drug dealers and a general bad influence on white youth. It is so disturbing. Every Asian family on the square has been a joke, look at the previous Ferreira family, who loved Elvis Presley, now that was a joke in itself and not to mention the family was very unstable...it just gets worse.
