After having researched wedding venues and prices quite comprehensively, and having visited some rather picturesque wedding venues,we decided to have our wedding at Peckforton castle. Initially I had many worries including that of hidden costs, because the prices seemed rather deceptively economical. We were convinced there was a catch somewhere, but to our absolute delight everything was an absolutely perfectly choreographed dream sequence.

The staff were not only competent and professional, but had that extra je ne sais quois that made crazy Bridezilla's (that I am ashamed to admit I had become) settle into a comforted coo. Leading upto the wedding we were late with dietary requirements, guest lists and everything else you could name, and the wedding coordinators were flexible and understanding. There were so many things we forgot, so many gaps in our last minute rush that the hotel stuff magically resolved without a word.

Driving up to the event our guests were wowed by the beautiful country side that guarded the castle like a hushed enchantment. The drive through the gatehouse one doesn't quite expect to have to drive through what feels like enchanted wood leading to a fairy tale. The castle hides its modern amenities with dignified elegance and subtly. The castle itself served as a rather fabulous frame for our wedding photographs, and the Hexagonal room was rather enchanting with its exquisite furniture in the soft glow of candle light.

A majority of our guests that stayed over night were similarly impressed by the elegance and authenticity of the rooms, professional competence of the staff and the reasonable rates.

Overall the perfectionist in me was satisfied with the quality of the service, the elegance of the venue and the value for money. Highly recommended to every nit pickitty Bridezilla, this is truly a place that is considerate of our Bridal demands.

We attended a wedding at Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, in March 2009. The location, scenery and look of the Castle is excellent but the staff don't seem to be trained in customer service.

We had our work Xmas meal at Peckforton Castle last Saturday 13th December. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had and all the staff felt likewise. The only choice of starter, the vegetable broth was like dirty dish water and tasteless with just a few bits of carrots and rice grains floating about in it. The vegetarian main, mushroom risotto had about 2 bits of mushroom and tasted like overcooked rice in milk. We thought this for £42.50 per head was very disappointing. We felt ...

Having attended a wedding in 2005 I arrived at the castle with some trepidation for my cousins wedding in August, 08 however, it quickly became apparent that big changes had been made. It was clean, you could smell the polish, staff were friendly and really helpful and the food heavenly.
My cousin remarked later that it had truly been the best day of their lives and the wedding office had made everything go so smoothly

Peckforton castle is a beautiful place, it's just a shame the magic didn't extend to the service. Some staff were very unaccommodating and seemed overly focused on how much profit they were making. If you expect them to help you have a wonderful day then don't, they will too busy trying to look at how much money you have in your purse.

We booked Peckforton Castle as our wedding reception venue in 2006. In the twelve months since then, the new owners and team have done a fantastic job of turning around the building (which was becoming slightly shabby) and the level of customer service offered. We had a fantastic day from our arrival at the Castle through to our departure the next morning. The staff went out of their way to help us, the castle itself looked stunning, and the food was excellent. I'd have no hesitation at all in r ...

Peckforton Castle in Cheshire is in a lovely location. Unfortunately, the customer service and management, in my experience, was bad.

Due to the genuine authenticity of the building and surroundings, I appreciate that it is hard to alter too much of the surroundings due to it's grade 1 listed status. However, I feel that a simple face lift on the carpets and some of the wall coverings wouldn't go amiss, and some of the bathroom suites need a re-modernisation. Having a young family we were hardly flashing the cash around, and so we had a room to more suit our budget. However, it was still a pricey £70 that could have give ...

After having recently been involved at Peckforton Castle in the role of a wedding co-ordinator, I would like to pass on my experiences. I visited the castle prior to the current owners' involvement and I had some concerns. However, when the current family took over, I was amazed on a subsequent visit so see the changes that had been made. Within days the castle looked like a different venue. New furniture, rooms refurbished and decorated, the attention to detail was incredible, and the famil ...

We got married at Peckforton Castle on Sunday 18th June 2006, and had the most amazing day ever. After reading some of the reviews we were apprehensive, but our day could not have gone any better. The staff were excellent, the food was excellent, the venue was amazing, and it couldn't have gone any better. Thank you to all Peckforton Castle!!

Having had my wedding reception at Peckforton Castle yesterday (10/6/06), I just wanted to say how fabulous the whole day was. The Castle looked breathtaking, with the high sandstone ramparts making the perfect back drop for the photo's.

There were plenty of staff on hand, and all were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The Wedding breakfast was of a really good quality (I can definitely recommend the lamb) and served efficiently, quickly and piping hot.

I recommend Peckforton Castle wh ...
