Honda CR 125 1996. I bought this bike around 2 months ago with a full engine rebuild off a mate, the state of it now is that it is in pieces on my workshop bench! The bike cost me £750 which to be fair wasn't a bad price, after riding the bike, I was not impressed with the bottom end power atall! There was not too much to say about the mid and top either. I rode the bike for a month with the intension of selling it very soon. Unfortunately this will now not happen for a while as after 3... (read more)

ive been riding mx bikes from a very young age and the cr 125 1996 still surprises me on every ride .... this bike has no mercy and is capeable of alot more than people think even though it is a 125, usually i challange bigger bikes such as cr 250's and 250 f's and i continue to wiz by them Honestly the Cr is a very very quick bike and will quite possibly scare the life out of the majority of riders :) (read more)

The Honda CR125 is a great bike for intermediate riders, hardly needs maintenance, good for jumps, feels great through whoops, handles well, turns on a dime. I recommend you buy tube slime or a better tube, because it really punctures easily. (read more)

Very fast and good for a beginner. Jumps well. Can't wheelie on it yet I haven't had it on tarmac so on dirt the wheel just spins. Handles like a feather, such a light feel to it. Crisp throttle response, as soon as you twist to full you have to change gear. (read more)

It is such a let down and I wish honda would make it as good as their cr250f which rips the track apart
if you're looking for a 125 get a yz 125 or a ktm 125.

Today i'm actually re assembling it after rebuilding the entire bike. Powdercoating frame and spring, painted the shock, New rims (original hubs), new plastics, graphics, porting, polishing, shaved head, carbon fibre reeds, carburettor, new tyres, etc. The new 125's have around 38 flywheel hp. Mine has 45. which is a huge difference. The bike isn't standard at all so it's hard to judge on the bike. but even when it was standard it did mono's in every gear.
This bike has a lot of potential if...

The Honda CR125 125 is a really fast bike and keeps up with my mates Jincheng 280cc.
Its a genuine 2004 Honda motocross bike and scrubs up well after spending hours on it, its relatively easy to clean and maintain.
My mates have other bikes but when we get on the field I blast them all away.

I bought a Honda CR12597 model about 2 months ago after a long break from the MX scene. The bike has surprised me every time I have it out.
It was the last year Honda made the metal frame before they tried the alloy and they got it so right.
I have thrashed this little monster 3 times a week since I bought it and my confidence is growing week by week. The bike does all the work. If you have the bottle and you position your weight well it flies. Reliability, great, I needed new clutch...

The Honda CR125 is a great bike fast as hell never had a problem yet. There are a few things though. Have to run Spectro golden or it doesn't get top performance. Also the stock spark plug that is recommended for this bike doesn't work. B7ES works the best. I think it's because my bike is so unstock. (read more)

I've had 3 cr 125's at year's 84, 85, and 85 the 84 model was different to the 85's but ran just as well and just as fast. All my cr's I bought had problems and was not working but with perseverance some savings and distance to travel for parts I got them all running and what a wow factor on the speed the went.
The picture you see as illustration for cr's on the main review page is mine, I bought this from e-bay believe it or not for £130. it need's a cylinder barrel that's costing me £100...

I have only had the Honda CR 125 offroad bike for about a year and a half but I have got my moneys worth out of it. It is a 1996 and it goes so damn fast. I dont think I have ever gone into last gear and topped it out. I cant find an area where I can go that fast without killing myself. This was my first bike and I love it. However I wouldnt reccomend it for a begginer. I had a friend who broke his arm on my bike when he took a bad spill. But the Bike is real strong and there was absolutly... (read more)

I have a 1999 cr 125 and it's fast as hell. It's my fourth bike. I have been riding for a long time and I have always been riding hondas. I have had a 1970 jr 50 for a little bit it was my forst bike then I went to a Honda 200x then I went to an Honda xr 100 to learn how to ride a dirtbike with a cluch then I went to my cr 125 and it's really fast. I plan on getting paddle tire for it for the dunes but it already has black plastic and an fmf pipe which makes it scream.

I bought my Honda CR125 4 years ago second hand. It's a 1996 model and it still scares the hell out of me now! I am no ACE off road but have ridden bikes for 8+ years and have been known to dabble in the racing scene, but this bike is quick. It constantly suprises me with what its capable of and i'ts usually me who bottles out before the bike!
Maintainance is cheap for a 2 stroke bike and touch wood no major probs so far!
You can pick these up for between £600 and £1,000 depending on...
