This was our first visit to the Tenerife Royal Gardens and having read some poor reviews prior to departure we were very pleasantly surprised. You really could not wish for a better location; virtually on the beach with plently of restaurants, shops and bars on the doorstep. Yes our room was one of the older ones yet to be refurbished but it had everything we needed and the cleaner was superb! One member of the reception staff was a bit on the surly side but all the others were very... (read more)

Are you going this year? I believe the resort is staying functional until at least xmas..after that ,who knows? There are currently 30 apartments for sale and if all these are sold the new owners will want to refurbish them, which means the place will look and sound like a building sight. If there is no money coming in to pay for the upkeep of the resort it will soon look shabby. We are told that S.E.F.S will not be asking for our next years maintenance.Where does that leave us..we have not as yet been offered any alternative.Might as well get used to it....TIMESHARE OWNERS HAVE NO RIGHTS.

The pool bar has recently re-opened, as at August 2007, and is run by experienced staff and were re-decorating it to include a tv room. The apartments are beginning to be refurbished through the resort but due to the installation of new water pipes, this has been delayed.
The pool area continues to be maintained well and the maid service provided is always excellent with the staff there being in residence over a long period.
The check in has improved but as change over day is mainly...

Now that the time share touts have almost disappeared the place is much better. Beware of the "you have won the scratch card" brigade, they can erode your holiday away if you are not careful. Overall we like the place, my son who is now 18 loves to go. My wife likes to go because the apartment has been in the family for some 20 years or so and yes she has been every year, including this year, we leave tomorrow morning. If renting an appartment be careful not to get one of the studio... (read more)

I like the fact that I know exactly which is my apartment when I arrive and just tend to use the week to recharge our batteries as it is not the kind of holiday for learning the culture! Location is great especially now all the new shops have been built opposite Compostela Beach, plenty of good restaurants for all tastes and pockets.. (read more)

Very disappointed! Exchanged our 5* timeshare in Lake District with Interval International for a resort that barely scrapes 2*. The resort is OK for a home from home feel, if you like tattooists touting for business against an all-pervading smell of sewage. We will not be returning Tenerife Royal Gardens or recommending it to anyone. (read more)

We have been going for 4 years now, thought about selling but in the end you will not find a cleaner, more perfect location in Tenerife. In the end, the room is for washing and sleeping in. If you can't find something to do that suits all tastes, in this area, you should not be going. See you next year. (read more)

This complex is in need of an overhaul, and we were told that there is a refurbishment programme for the next 18 months, concentrating on the B and C units first. They appeared to be putting new water pipes in when we were there. The apartment we stayed in at the Royal Gardens needs a good update, but when it is just a place to sleep for one week, and it was clean with almost all the functions/equipment you needed (take a corkscrew if you like a glass of wine), what do you really need? The... (read more)

Janey. I am going there on 16th Feb, I have read your comments on the Trip Advisor forum and have left a message for you there under your response to someone making enquiries about Royal Gardens.
<br/>Any advice re parts of the complex to avoid etc. is most gratefully received.

I have been going to Tenerife Royal Gardens for the last 14 years or so as I have a one week time share for a studio. I have kept going back as the place was excellent and the position just perfect. In the last 2 or three years the apartments have become very worn and the equipment very tired, they are badly in need of a major revamp which we are told is ongoing. The last apartment we stayed in (not our week so not our own) was second floor in C block and the interior was shabby in the... (read more)

We arrived at the Tenerife Royal Gardens in Playa De Las Americas on Friday 6th in the early afternoon. The queues where huge and just kept growing. This complex is well aware that arrivals are on Tuesday's and Friday's, and they should employ more staff on these days to help with this! We spent the first four hours of our holiday trying to check-in. Deposits for everything: Towels, Fans, Extra Key, Safe and even the TV Remote! It appears that all they are interested in is how to get more... (read more)

Overall Tenerife Royal Gardens was a great experience and I am going back again this summer!Nice location right on the beach front. Close to supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. Rooms were nice, pool was of a good size and there was plenty of sunbeds. No need to get up early to get a sunbed!!! (read more)

Once the Tenerife Royal Gardens has finished being refurbished I am sure it could well try for the 4* label, which I think they are striving for! at the moment maybe a 2-3*. We had a few problems but the management were superb, very helpful and we were satisfied. Once the refurb is done we would gladly go back again. Superb location, with excellent restaurants nearby, and a beautiful beach across the road. (read more)

Tenerife Royal Gardens was lovely I cannot say anything about it that would put anyone off. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. I stayed in a time share apartment so I never had room service however I saw them attending other people's apartments everyday (even on Xmas day). The area is lovely and in good distance to everything. (read more)

All in all, i would go back. Tenerife Royal Gardens is very well kept with daily towel change and room cleaned each day. Based in a very good location with beaches right out the front of the hotel. Brilliant little pub called harlequins underneath the hotel. We were told that our bus could not make it down the road to drop us off outside the hotel so we had to walk about 250 - 300 mts with suitcases. (read more)

I have just returned from a fantastic holiday at Tenerife Royal Gardens where we rented a private apartment. After reading a couple of bad reviews on the complex I was quite concerned at what I would find. The complex is being revamped and painted and one side of the pool has recently been re-tiled. For a complex open 52 weeks a year you have got to expect some down sides. I have two children aged 11 and 9 and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves both in the complex pool, the very close by...
