After 2 years, using them about once a week (and my hair is short - shoulder length), they stopped working, unless I fiddled with the flex - guess the wires are not properly connected, so the Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Hair Straightener feels unsafe to use. Nicky Clark customer services said they could not help, and that they had not heard of this problem with this model; yet I am the third person to complain here about it. Nicky Clark, you have let us down!!- Read mrswoodwoose's review (101 words)

The are good at straightening long thick hair, and it lasts for at least 24 hours.
I would recommend the Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straighteners to anyone, any day. They are the best straighteners I have tried.- Read Sarahzalegend's review (119 words)

Had the Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straightener for 2 years & paid £50 on offer & must say I'm very impressed had no problems and they still straighten my hair. I have tryed SCP's, Mark Hills & GHD's and all of them straighten my hair but leave it very dry & brittle even with the use of heat protection products. These straighteners always leave my hair straight, soft & shiny even without these products.
TOP BUY!!!!- Read lobo76's review (92 words)

I brought some Nicky Clarke Supermodel hair straighteners about 3 months ago, and the other day they stopped working, but they only worked when you moved the wire in a certain place. The paint on the plate also came off, and I was very disappointed with this product. My previous hair straighteners lasted for three years and they were JHB.
I do not recommend these straighteners to anyone.- Read tashyl's review (72 words)

I first bought the Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straightener about 2 years ago and have just took the SIXTH pair back to boots where I bought them, every pair were fine to start with but after a while only worked when you moved the wire about - the pair I have just taken back actually blew up while I was using them, to me these are a dangerous product and I would not recommend them to anyone.- Read ALI F's review (78 words)

I've had t Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straightener about 2 months. I used them about 4 times a week and coming into the 2nd month of use the paint peeled off the ceramic plates. then the next day i turned them on and i saw a little spark come out from the end of the cable where it comes into the plug. Obviously the cables inside the wires plastic coating must have broken. I was left with a couple of marks along the end of the cable. PLEASE DONT BUY THESE THEY ARE DANGEROUS!- Read hunbun's review (111 words)

Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straightener - After 6 months of having them they spontaneously stopped working - they working randomly but only when you fiddle with the wire and straighten a section and then fiddle again while it warms up. Not happy with them at all...- Read zestyzoe's review (55 words)

Overall, I wouldn't really rush out of the house to purchase the Nicky Clarke straighteners. Within a few months the ceramic coating started to peel and burn and then they stopped heating all together. Now I have to hold them at a weird angle everytime I want them to heat up. But I'm sure there's a faulty wire at the base of the straightener attaching to the chord, so overall I guess these are pretty dangerous and a waste of money.- Read funkycookie's review (118 words)

I purchased Nicky Clarke NCS17 Supermodels Ceramic Straightener from the high street after my GHDs went bang. Hence. I needed a pair in a hurry. I picked these as they were the same tong style as the GHDs. These straighteners do straighten my hair pretty well, (although I would say not as well as the GHDs). Also they tend to snag my hair, it catches between the plates and the casing. The ceramic coating starting peeling within a few months of owning these and now the only way I can keep the po ...- Read madgirl's review (139 words)
