I recently got my 1999 Honda XR200R. I went out on it today for hours and I just have to say WOW!!! Not the most power I have ever seen but for what it is it does pretty damn good. Awesome trail bike or even good for just riding back roads. I would recommend it to anyone. light weight and comfortable. (read more)

I got a 1999 model it is great, plenty of power love being in third idling and pulling the throttle all the way back and just a tip don't accelerate around a sharp corner cause unless you know what your doing you'll spin out and fly off, suspension is good, brakes i normally use the front brakes (not sure why) and its really fuel efficient, takes a few hours to empty the tank. i recommend this for slightly experienced rider, although, its really easy to get a basic feel for the bike. I live is Idaho so a dirt bike is the perfect thing for up here i ride it to work and just ride is for fun it's the perfect size for me to the funny thing is the i was born in 97 to and my first bike and car was a 97 i love my car to it's a Mustang Gt I customized is to be awd it's pretty sweet. Honda is the best bike ever I love mine i would refer is over and other bike besides a street bike my brother has a suzuki hayabusa that thing is freaking awesome up to 200 mph check out pics at this... I really like this bike, I often find the front suspension could be a bit stiffer but if it were stiffer I'd probably want it softer. This bike is a trial bike not road bike it won't perform going down the highway but it will in the bush. I loved the 6th gear when you're riding down fire roads you can just idle the motor or you can shift down and pull a wheelie on a bump or something like that. This bike is dead reliable and really fuel efficent, I went on a 50 kilometre (or 35ish mile) ride... (read more)

Awesome bike. My second bike and it was worth the money. It wasn't too much heavier than my first bike which was a TTR125. The XR200 also has good power and is a nice, affordable trail bike. It is much lighter than the XR250 but it doesn't lose much power even though it is pure stock. I also has a perfect seat hight. I have had no problems with it and look forward to taking it out this summer. One downfall is that it has a front drum brake. Also, the suspension is too soft if you wanted to... (read more)

I bought a 1997 Honda Xr200r 3 years ago the only bad thing about the bike is the back brake it stick so every year you have to clean it out but suspension is great the engine is magnificent i give it alittle throttle and it zoomzz its crazy plastics have scratches but its a 97 i havent changed anything on the bike except the oil. also i am buying a pro circuit t4 exhaust for it and pink levers for looks :) (read more)

I got my 1986 xr 200r a year ago for free, it had a blown engine and the works, The engine has been rebuilt, rebuilt the suspension and since then it has been the funnest + most reliable bike I've ever ridden. Will make it up all hills, plenty of grunt, and is light. I would recommend this bike to people who liked a easy maintained bike that will cope with all sorts of terrain. The bike is well worth it. I just bought my 1988 Honda xr200r two days ago for $400. It has a lot of torque and i really enjoy riding it due to the air shock. It was probably one of my best buys i could get for under $1000. A new 250cc dirt bike costs between $6000-$7000 so i think i got a steal. I just wanted something that would fulfill my needs of power and size. I have a 1997 Honda XR200R, it is my first dirt bike and i got it about 2 years ago and it is still running strong. it goes through the woods, up hills, through mud with a extremely slick back tire and its top speed is about 60 mph. completely stock the highest i got mine was 57 mph and it was almost pegged but it could have hit 60 mph if i kept going. it is powerfull and if your wanting to pop it up, it will, i did today while taking off. it handles good and it is light for its size. it is... This Honda XR200R is good for beginners but you need to be careful on the throttle. This thing has a lot of power and no problems crawling through anything! i take it mudding, ice riding, and trail riding, and jumping. I have out rode a lot of bikes and 4 wheelers on mine. Love it to death. Starts in first kick and since 1991 i only had to replace a 20 dollar shift dawg, no big deal! (read more)

I'm 5`11 and i love my Honda XR200R. It has a lot of power and if you give it just a little gas it will kick to the side. For a trail bike its not bad for jumping. Its not a race bike though so I wouldn`t jump over 5 feet. This bike is great for aggressive trail riding. It can keep up with many 2 strokes. Its very reliable . Mine starts second kick when its 45 degrees out. Only bad point is not a lot of aftermarket parts. (read more)

I have a 1982 XR200R, and 26 years later this thing is still kicking ass. Because it's so light and agile it's the perfect trail bike. It might not gauruntee open speeds comparable to say, a 250-450 2str, but it's got more than enough get-go to get you up any obstacle. Great bike, easy/cheap to repair/modify. (read more)

It handles anything and pulls up any hill, I have an 83' XR200R, thats old! it always starts first kick with no choke even after sitting all week, my personal favorite bike ive ever owned, my XR250R isnt much faster and its too heavy and difficult to start. I love my Honda XR200R! It's my favorite bike to ride, even compared to bigger bikes. When I go riding, some of my friends have bigger bikes, like 250's and 350's, but they're so heavy that when we're going through tricky trails, their bikes are too heavy with their four valves and extra engine size, that I have to ride in front of them because they're sooo slow! And they're better riders than me too. My XR just pulls you up the hill and rides over everything put in it's way. And going down... (read more)

I find that Honda xr 200 have a really good clutch and a good power for 200 and if they over heat I just put a colder plug if the number is small like 6 on the spark plug then you get a bigger number like 9 and it will stop it from over heating. It never stop running just do lost of oil change if you want it to last long. (read more)

Overall this Honda XR200R is a very good bike. The 200cc keeps it light, but give it lots of power. 6 gears give you the range to go fast or slow. The BEEFY suspension lets you ride with a passanger. I miss the headlight/taillight, but it is less parts to break, I have never had any problems with this motorcycle and for the price (around $1200) it's a steal. (read more)
