General comments: Good car for people who dont need a load of power. Economic, but with some errors in engine construction.

I've had my Seat Leon 1.4 for over 2 years now. Overall I've been pleased with it. The 1.4 engine does struggle to lug this heavy lump of a car around, but as a cheap, reliable motor, I can't really fault it. It has had a few faults, but the local dealer (in Uddingston) fixed them all under warranty so it hasn't been a problem. Basically it's a VW Golf, but it looks better. The Seat Leon 1.4 S is plasticky, it could have bigger door shelves and some in the back, and perhaps behind the drivers seat a place for papers.
I don't like the gear box, in the first month the linkage went, it had to go to the garage to be fixed. I wasn't satisfied with this and told them that it was still difficult to change to 3rd gear from 4th and sometimes 2nd. All in all the gear box is rubbish. I wouldnt buy another.
