Good Points: New slim stick type remote with eel backlit, 16mm thick base and merely bigger than the cd itself. very stylish. excellent battery life
Bad Points: bass almost drops to zero past 85-90% of full volume, that's when sound quality begins to deteriorate. not too sure anything else.
General comments: Due to few negative reviews of the Sony D-EJ985 i read about the sound quality, especially from the original headphones, in my humble opinion, i highly recommend you goto the shop and test it out yourself. everyone has different preference and taste when it comes to sound, those claim poor sound quality may be due to the fact that the cd player is really not designed for that sort of music. i find the original in ear headphones perfectly fine. does pretty good bass for such a little thing. it sure beat the noise of the bus engine and traffic.
But do try other headphones with other cd player for best combination.
For me, this unit is superb. I mainly listen to RnB and dance tracks.
I am very impressed with the design of the whole thing. shinny aluminium body, very thin indeed. the whole cd player is about 16mm thick. the diametre is merely wider than the cd itself. it's also quite durable. i light the allocation of the buttons on the side of unit. The use of 2 gumstick NiMH batteries(included) combined with 2 AA batteries in the external battery tube attached allowing you to obtain upto 120hrs of playback is very impressive.
Just watching it sit on the pyramid charging stand reflect how sexy it is. it even comes with a official sony fleece cd walkman carry pouch which incoporate a liitle area to neatly hold the battery tube, now that is innovation.
The design of the slim eel backlit remote emphysize the style of the whole unit. you have all the main control through the remote. it even has a removable reversible clip so you can choose which way to clip it to your shirt.
overall i am very happy with the cd walkman. highly recommended to anyone with money and want to invest into a cd walkman with style, quality and sex appeal.
