Good Points: SUPER super Super trigger, Excellent fit and finish, and of course accuracy.

Bad Points: Cocking effort and the scope/sight rail is not the common dove tail type (like the FWB and Anchutz. It is a semi dove tail, which means you have to buy scope mounts and sights from Walther. But since I use this gun for 10-meter shooting, and the gun comes with sights, it is not a concern for me.

General comments: I purchased the Walther LGM-2 rifle in June 1998. The gun has excellent fit and finish; it's certainly better than the newer Walther air rifle, such as the LG200 and LG300. Walther has not made a gun with this high level of fit and finish that I know of. The laminated stock is beautiful with a good luster. The stock is nicer than any 10-meter air rifle wooden stock I ever seem, even to this day. The only thing I didn't like about the stock is the way the rubber butt plate fit into my shoulder. It is because the design of the stock angles the butt plate downward. Some shooters like this; I don't. I took off the top spacer in an attempt to level out the butt plate. Now it fits me much better. Accuracy is superb. My only real complaint is the cocking effort. It is harder to cock than the FWB600 or FWB601. The cocking handle is wood and not a soft rubber like the Anschutz 2002, so it is harder on your hand. What I like most about this gun is the trigger. I have never known of a trigger like this ever, not even now. This is one trigger I wish all guns have. The newer Walther such as the LG200 and LG300 don't carry over superb this trigger! I don't understand why. Yes, I know, all match triggers are smooth and crisp, but this trigger was design and made for off-hand shooting. The trigger is so sensitive and predictable, that I can feel exact when the trigger will "break", and it breaks at the same point with the same weight every time.

For example, I'd say a Walther LGM-2 feels"hard" while a Steyr LG10P feels"soft".

I would certainly agree with you in your assessment about the Walther's cheekpieces, and would add that most of the ones on air rifles are rather fiddly to adjust (though my P-70 isn't too bad).
