Good Points: nice style. Round, saucer like and easy to hold. Good sound especially with good head phones. Very easy on batteries. Line out for connecting to speakers. mp3 or atrac playback includes the folder system, easier to navigate through 100-200 songs on each cd. Can group songs in folders when you burn them so you dont have to hit track advance 150 times if you want to hear the 150th song. Good for old format old time radio plays. It plays the low grade mp3 kbs/s and frequences as well of course the standard new music high quality format.
Bad Points: Volume a bit low, not great if you are around a lot of loud background noise.
General comments: I was shopping for a cd/mp3 player that plays music and is also suitable for old time radio lower quality sound. Some of the cd based mp3 players only have music in mind, and they dont play the lower bit and frequency rates. This Sony DNE-711 does it all. The sound quality is great, not as loud as some, but the quality of sound is there. The battery cost is almost free. I never had a player that has battery life this long. It has all the right features, bass boost, line out, jog shuttle, folder system. I love it.
