Good Points: 8-10-08 Please note the date of the review that you are reading. This is important because of the technology of the movie industry has advanced. I love movies and I love watching them over and over. My first copy of DVD Cloner 3 was great but it did have some flaws. It copied most of the movies that I tried to copy. I was pretty happy with it and after a couple of years I purchased (not free upgrade) a whole new copy of DVD Cloner 5 because I want to support companies that produce great products. At first DVD Cloner 5 seemed to work well but now I can not burn any of the movies that I have copied to a new back up DVD. I get various error messages like not enough room on DVD disk or insert a DVD+R RW or insert a DVD LR disc. Even when I try to force burn or ignore the warning, Cloner 5 can not copy any of the more recent movies. I suspect that the movie companies are making a concentrated effort to prevent the after market from producing after market copies of movies and other products. My recommendation is to wait until DVD cloner maker has updated their software to copy the latest DVDs. The Cloner software is good... it just can no longer copy the latest DVD movies.

Bad Points: DVD Cloner can not copy the latest movies that I get from Netflicks.

General comments: DVD Cloner can not copy the latest movies that I get from Netflicks therefore I give it an F or 0 rating. If you want to back up old movies that have been on your shelf or older copies that you rent or borrow.... no problem. The reason I posted a date at the beginning of my review is that old reviews of earlier than approximately 2-08 probably do not apply if you want to backup newer movies from say... NetFlicks.

Ease of use. Just click and go.
I only gave it 2 stars and that is just for the ease of the interface. Overall this product is a complete waste. DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink work flawlessly and best of all they're free. There are still copies of it out there.

I'm not a genius with a computer, but I've certainly purchased and registered at least 50 programs over the years. In my experience DVD Cloner II has been the most frustrating time I've ever had to spend trying to use a product. I finally suggested that they register me before I just demand a refund... However as of yet it has not as far as I am aware happend.
But after 9 days and at least 35 attempts, I'm calling it a day with DVD Cloner.

I have had the DVD Cloner II CD & DVD burning software for a while, and it failed right off the bat. I have been given the most idiotic suggestions from Cloner II folks to fix this, but it remains a hit and miss affair.
You will not get your money back. The things it does (single movies to 4.5G disk) can be done cheaper with other software. I never got my money back!! Not recommended.

DVD Cloner II is complete junk, it doesn't work. It takes 3 hours to burn a movie. The 30 day money back guarantee is a complete scam and rip off. My advice, don't waste your money.

Like I wrote before, my dad got DVD Cloner II and it works flawlessly everytime he uses it. When I got it a couple of months ago, I think I tried every possible thing I could think of to get it to work. I have a newer laptop so with nothing on the hard drive but Windows XP I was able to format the hard drive and reload everything time and time again. I emailed the support line but they weren't helpful. I asked for my money back over and over again within the first week of having Cloner 2 and ...

All in all DVD Cloner II burning software is a very good product. Better than the other DVD cloners I've tried anyway.
Sometimes it has problems with more complicated menus, but in that case I just burn the movies without menus and it's OK.
The price is a bit high in my opinion, so before buying it you may find it a good idea to search for the best offer on sites like eBay, or PriceGrabber etc...

The DVD Cloner II has problems. DO NOT BUY IT! I thought I was getting a good copy after several failures. Then, upon trying the results, realized the 2nd disk was the same as the 1st one, meaning only half a movie. Better luck elsewhere.

Not sure why the bad posts here (unless they are authored by competing companies). I've been using DVD Cloner II since version 1.3 and it rocks. The interface is simple, and it's one of the few products out there that contains built in copy protection defeating software. I imagine if this company were in the US, or were selling the product in stores (like DVD X Copy did), they'd be sued away too. Can't say enough about this product. Never buy a DVD again (just rent and burn!).

DVD Cloner II - You have to register their product online. I don't have the internet so they sent me the same email 3 times telling me how to do it offline and it doesn't work. Then they ignored me so I requested a refund because they guarantee a 30 day money back guarantee. I have been trying to get them to give me my money back for over a month now & it's impossible. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT!!!!!
