Good Points: Well I picked up a very clean VN SS about two weeks ago and I have been very impressed by the amount of torque the 5ltr V8 puts out. I have a manual gearbox and twin plate clutch, beefed up engine internals and bored, stroked block. It's a very smooth runner and I'm very proud to have a 'real car' as I used to unfortunately own Nissan Turbo cars in the past but I've seen the light, haha, you don't need no spooling up of a Turbo when you have gotta growling V8 breathing under your right foot.

Bad Points: I found that the dash board lighting was very dull as it was very hard to read the instruments at night but after installing a new led type glob that problem was soon fixed. Apart from that if you wanna get nitty gritty the seals on the doors needed replacing but these are things that you must expect when buying a car from 1989. Apart from that absolutely perfect.

General comments: To summarise this car I would have to say if anyone is thinking of buying one I would highly suggest it. Don't get sucked into buying a VL Calais Turbo because of the whoooosh because I can assure you when something goes wrong with the engine you'll feel it in your pocket. The VN SS is truly a Aussie beast of a car and I will certainly enjoy working the hell out of the engine as the weeks and months go by. Enjoy...

Well to give you an idea of the power that my Holden Commodore VN S-Pac. V8 Sedan has, it is an auto and my brother had it spinning in overdrive which left 60meter black strips up the road. If you plant your foot down it wont move it will just sit there spinning. All up the car has only cost $2000 which includes a sound system of Kenwood CD player, Kenwood 7x10's, 5" 3-way splits, 800watt Avalanche amp and a 12" Pioneer sub.
