Good Points: None as far as I am concerned.

Bad Points: Cannot call anyone on Skype anymore as far as I am concerned.

General comments: Computer became unusable after last service upgrade for me personally! AOL were unhelpful as far as I am concerned. Subsequently admitted that computer settings had to be changed. Service advice was to call Skype and Symantec. No one cares in my opinion so have canceled service.

They had me online for enough time to check my emails. My advice would be don't do it. Not even a free laptop is worth all the effort and stress as far as I am concerned!

I have been with AOL for three years now and I really used to sing their praises but sadly they have really let standards drop since the end of 2007 for me personally. My problems began after I agreed to sign up to their offer for a phone and internet package which included a bump up in speed to as much as 8 meg, however I very soon started to get major problems namely frequent disconnection's (every 10 mins at one point) and very poor speed which most of the time felt like being back on dial-up ...

Too many. I would be here all day. In fact I would be surprised if I stay connected for long enough to tell you how poor my experience has been. I have AOL 9VR and this has become steadily worse in my opinion. It is now impossible to stay connected to AOL for more that about 30 minutes if you are lucky. I am currently trying to download the AOL software again after problems with the last download when I could read my e-mails but couldn't search any websites. I clicked on the enter button or the ...

Heres my experience... After bing a Aol member for a few years I received an email in my inbox saying Aol was sorry id decided to cancel my Aol account. I hadnt cancelled my aol account and had no idea why they said i had. I immediately contacted Live help and asked why i was sent the email only to be told, there was no record of me canceling and the email must be a fake. I was advised to ignore the email and pass it onto their security team via email which i promptly did. The next day I rece ...

    - Spend too long waiting in a queue only to be told that you are at the wrong department as far as I am concerned. - I am not getting the speed I am paying for in my opinion and advice from AOL upgrade to a faster package. Why when they are not giving me what I am paying for to start with. - When I do finally get through to technical support each time I have to go through the steps you did with a previous adviser no matter how many times I tell them I have already done it! The list is too long ...

I have given them 10 days to correct it or I will cancel my contract as being unable to provide the service I used to have. I shall be requesting my MAC code & if needed will see them in court if they wish, over leaving before the end of my contract! I have been with Aol about 9 years & have always had good reliable service until 18 March. But they do not seam determined to get my connection stable or at a usable speed, which used to be between 3500mbps & 5700 mbps now I get 7 mbps to the best ...

I joined aol with the carphone warehouse the worst thing I have ever done, for over two months now I have had no phone and a broadband speed of less than half a mb, I have spoken to operators, supervisors, managers stage one and two who have told me thats all the line will take, NOT TRUE, the line was being upgraded by bt. NOT TRUE, the phone would not work because of talk talk at the carphone warehouse, again NOT TRUE, they also said they would fix the problem after 24 hrs, 3 days, 3-5 days, 5- ...

I was offered an 18month contract (and sadly I accepted) with AOL to speed up my broadband. I was with AOL since my days in States in 90s and it was reliable and fun. I subscribe to AOL in UK about 1.3 years ago. It was OK but As soon as CPW came into picture about a month ago, all the problems started without any prior warning. I do not recommend AOL Broadband.

I have been on AOL Broadband for over 8 years and was very happy but since CPW has taken over, as far as I am aware, it is now not as good and the internet as far as I am concerned goes off nearly every day for sometimes nearly 5 hours in my experience. Customer support has also been unhelpful in my opinion, I am very disappointed and therefore do not recommend AOL Broadband.

I've been with AOL for many years but I am leaving now, I got my MAC code. It worked fine but lately, for the last 2 months a nightmare, I've tried all the best to stay with them but it is impossible as for the last two months many times I had lost connection, speed very low, constantly 900k from 2Mgb. I cannot stand AOL anymore. They have admitted the issues with their servers, even their customer services had problems with the internet connection (I was told by one of their staff). Really, I d ...

AOL have been my choice of isp for 9 years; since December they have gone backwards in every respect in my experience and opinion. I am locked into an 18 month contract, in spite of speeds of only 400kbps, (I was regularly getting 6000kbps) they refuse to release me from my contract. The technical help I have received has been unhelpful as far as I am concerned, that's if I can get through, AOL must have serious issues, there is normally a queue of 30mins for help, and frequently a message sayin ...

If you aren't getting what you have been promised - I recommend to complain in writing. I personally took plenty of data and screen shots and date them as this was helpful for future reference. Recommend broadband speed monitors or bandwidth monitors which have web-based logging, make notes of the log numbers. Keep records. Keep records. Keep records. I would ask for your money back if they fail to resolve problems. I also do not recommend AOL Broadband contract. Finally..... I do not recom ...

If you are thinking about joining AOL.. don't do it! They took my money and waste my time in my opinion. Customer support don't want to know. The complete feeling you get from dealing with them is that they are not interested in helping or listening to you.

I am now locked into an 18 month contract - and bitterly regret it. My wife and I run a charity online and 50% of the time are forced to use mobile broadband dongles from Vodaphone and 3 Mobile when using the internet in our own home.AOL internet used to be the most reliable thing I bought; overnight it has become the most unreliable in my opinion. And their helpdesk is unhelpful as far as I am concerned. I feel I have not received enough information about what the problem is or when it will be ...

In my experience - Connection problem on 26th Feb told due to phone line. Connection problem on 6th March told due to dns server down Connection problem on 19th March told due to maintenance Connection problem 28th March was told it was due to line aol software The problem is down to migration of service to CPW and was told this by a supervisor but was not informed as far as I am aware.. Do not recommend Aol Broadband.

I have been with AOL for 7.5 years 5 on broadband, as has been said many times AOL used to be a good isp but over the last 3-4 months they really have gone downhill, constant disconects, im talking 20-30 disconects being not uncommon at a long session, ive also had 3 stints of not being able to connect at all (all 3 in the last 3 weeks) lasting from between 9hrs and 5 hrs, ive requested my mac code, got given the usuall spiel, i just stood my ground and firmly told her i wouldnt want AOL as my i ...

I have been an AOL customer for seven years, which I think is quite a long time. I began in 2001 with AOL dialup then in 2002 upgraded to AOL Broadband Silver (512kbps). Later my speed was upgraded to 1mbps, then 2mbps. In 2007 I changed over to the new package offered by AOL now that it had been overtaken by The Carphone Warehouse: AOL Wireless. I have been 86% satisfied with AOL's service to me in that I've been happy with my internet connection for six out of the seven years they've provided ...

Reliable, easy to set-up, all explained in the leaflet., had constantly quite high (6mbs) connection speed. Reliable and quite fast, easy to set up. Only worth the slightly higher price if you're also getting one of their offers eg laptop or ps3. Well recommend Aol Broadband.

I would not go with aol broadband again and do not recommend you to use this internet broadband supplier. We are now thinking of moving to bt, yes they are slightly more expensive but atleast I will be able to get online.
