i am now at the end of my contract with aol and can quite honestly say that the service has been pretty good. there has been the occasional disruption but no more than you would get from any other provider. tech support has been fairly ok but thankfully havnt had to use it that often.even when i rang up to request my mac code it was given without any hassle.sure ,this was when the offers to get me to stay started coming out which i expected anyway.overall,i would recommend aol to anyone.

I would not recommend AOL to even my worst enemy. They are the most incompent company I have ever come across. I concur with eveything bad about them that has been written. Recently, they encouraged me to change to another package and also take their line rental which was infact provided by a company based in Europe. That was the worst mistake I ever made. I had to dial several times to get a local number. i could not get international numbers. Theeir call center staff are even more useless than ...

I ordered the AOL broadband almost 2 months ago and I haven't got the router yet.The first router AOL sent went has never arrived to my place and they are refusing to send a new one until they find out what happened to the first one. Can you believe it?On top of that, the customer service lied to me twice as they said they had sent a new router and I had to wait for it to arrive.

I was with AOL (AOHELL) for nearly 4 years....at first their service was genuinely good infact one of the best - decent speed and connection, UK/Irish call centres..... that was until the Carphone Warehouse took over then almost straight away the service went completly and rapidly downhill...connection problems every day... many days spent offline due to this, VERY low speed to ridiculous levels especially after 4pm and when you ring India to complain about this they say it is you're fault or yo ...

Have been with AOL for 9 years - excellent service until these last few months. Customer service if you are lucky to get Ireland, however unlucky when you get India - well what a waste of time.
AOL freezes, disconnections all the time, staff polite but pretty much useless I have been unable to start AOL for 10 days now - very apologetic but they don't seem to be doing anything to help me. So after 9 years I think it is time to say bye bye. Why waste my money on an extremely poor service and ...

The aol broadband is good if you can connect to the internet, if you have problems with their service you will find that they pass the buck to your phone line provider which is actually an aol problem, the other problem is that their call centre is over in India. I haven't been able to connect to aol broadband since Feb 2009 after numerous phone calls I finally was able to get on line in May 2009, Bt came out about 8 times and said it was an aol problem, so after all this I am looking to change ...

AOL is a terrible choice! Their software is inefficiant and installs everywhere and gives you their own unique brand of aol spamming. Their service drops out continuously and sometimes a restart is required. The modem they give you is nothing more than a piece of plastic that gets hot and has flashing lights and dont EVER call customer services for anything. You may as well ask a random person on the street. It will cost you less. Overpriced and frequently downgraded service.

AOL Broadband is too awful adequately to describe. No question; the useless Carphone Wharehouse have wrecked it in the UK and the admin is way beyond a joke.

Download speeds are often below dial-up.

Avoid like the plague; well, opt for the plague if given the choice!!

I have been with AOL Broadband almost three years. To my surprise, in the early days (before the Carphone Warehouse takeover), it was very good. They gave me a Netgear modem and a free upgrade from 1Mb to 2Mb.

However, in the last year the service has deteriorated greatly. I live between two addresses, so often AOL is paid £14.99 for months when there is no usage on the line at all. Since Christmas I have been using the broadband more again and have had constant problems with the downlo ...

Iv been with AOL since the 90s (first dial-up then broadband), and up to about a year ago they were pretty good. I never got disconnected, no caps, it just worked (after i uninstalled their awful software and used firefox and thunderbird instead). Then i noticed that certain sites like youtube wouldnt work properly for long periods of time, then came the disconnections. Windows reports that its still connected to the internet as does the router, but nothing works. Its not the computer, because ...

AOL Broadband is the worst browser possible with constant disconnections and problems regarding the speed of the broadband. It is also the source of the problem for connecting my wii to the internet where as the xbox will connect fine. An AWFUL service

I joined AOL 3 years ago which was fine but gradually they went down hill.

I would get cut off in the middle of using it and also would want to use the internet and not be able to as it would say service unavailable.

I do not recommend AOL broadband to anyone. It is a complete waste of money as half the time the service is unavailable.
I will not miss the service at all as even trying to canel the policy was a big task for the customer service team!!

I joined AOL from Tiscali many years ago, they were great at the time better than Tiscali I felt, now I am experiencing more problems with AOL , I seem to get cut off many times or there was problems with the network, nobody thought to advise their customers that this would happen, or they advised me that if I had no service it was a problem with Dell, why them, there not my supplier. I phoned AOL up for my MAC Code, the advisor from the Call Centre could not understand why I wanted to move s ...

Finally cancelled my AOL Broadband in January 09. After being disconnected from them they send me a letter in March 09 to say I have been ignoring letters from them saying I owe them £60!
I can honestly say I have never received 1 letter from them apart from the one accusing me of ignoring them!

HAHA, I would not reccomend them to anyone, there are now better connections out there I would rather go with!

I joined aol about 3 years ago on a 1 Mb/s download speed and then had a free upgrade to 2 Mb/s.From then on the service went downhill. The dowload speed during the evening deteriorated to less than 500 kb/s and often down to 200 kb/s.When I complained the download speed would be restored for a short while and then return to the slow speed. When I requested a MAC number so that I could transfer free of charge to a new provider my service was cancelled and I had to pay a New Service fee.aol has ...

We phoned and cancelled our AOL Broadband subscription last August as Sky was offering a much better deal as opposed to the £14.99 we were paying AOL. They basically ignored the conversation and didn't cancel the account and are still now 7 months later taking money from our debit card and haven't closed the account. We have phoned numerous times and each time they advise the account will now be closed but it hasn't.
