Good Points: Incredibly small and light
    Full metal body
    A smart piece of kit

Bad Points: Small unfortunately does mean fragile

General comments: The Sony MZ-E10, the minidisc 10th anniversary player version of the N10. A fantastic purchase to anyone that has the minidisc hifi.

It features the small stylish but plastic remote that the N10 is supplied with. The remote does everything thats neccesary and although a little fiddly because of the multi function buttons you get used to it. Fontopia headphones are also supplied a great downfall by Sony. All top end walkmans should come with the in-ear bass headphones that make listening a much greater pleasure in terms of sound quality and comfort.

The unit has the 6 band equalizer that has two settings to create your own preset allowing bass, treble and other levels to be changed and personalised. This is a nice feature, unlike the virtual surround equalizer which is quite literally, pants. It distorts the sound is really a waste of time. LP4 sounds a lot better too!

The unit itself has a 5 way joy stick button on the front that plays, stops, forwards, rewinds and changes the volume which is easy to use but in my opinion not really touched because most the time the unit stays on hold and remote does all the work.

It charges from empty in an hour in the supplied cradle which is great however charging is very infrequent, the built in battery just goes and goes, in normal mode!!! However the cradle is the only way to charge the unit so when holidaying the cradle has to be packed too, a down side in my opinion.

Finally the unit comes with a short cable, because the headphone jack on the unit has been changed to make everything smaller, an adapter is needed if the remote is not required all the time. It is literally a jack plug on one end and a unit plug on the other.

Overall a great unit, although slightly fragile because of its size, a great buy for those minidisc fans amoung you who have the hifi, or the older net md walkman connected to the computer and want something so small and light to listen to their music on they dont even notice they are carrying it.

    BUY IT!
